ECW: The new Hart Foundation?
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on ECW on Sci-Fi: Tyson Kidd is looking for revenge after Finlay cost him a win against Evan Bourne last week. With Natalya barred from ringside, Kidd would get all the help he needed from another member of the Hart family. Should be a good one!

And we are "LIVE!" from Dayton, Ohio. Josh Mathews and Matt Striker are our hosts. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG,V).

So, my DVR decided it didn't want to record the first six minutes of the show, so we join this match already in progress. No idea how we got here.

Match #1 - Mark Henry (Silsbee, Texas) vs. Tommy Dreamer (Yonkers, N.Y.)

Henry is working on the head/neck of Dreamer -- pretty consistently, in fact. Henry charges at Dreamer in the corner but Dreamer hits him and goes to the second rope and jumps right into a bearhug. Henry lets go and goes off the rope for an elbow drop, but Dreamer moves, grounding the World's Strongest Man.

Dreamer hits an elbow drop of his own and instead of putting Henry in the tree of woe, Dreamer just charges at Henry, who is in the corner. He hits the running dropkick and then nails the DDT, but Henry barely gets his foot on the bottom rope to break the fall.

Dreamer goes for a roll-up but Henry just sits on his arm then hits the World's Strongest Slam and that'll do it.

Winner via pinfall: Mark Henry

Gregory Helms is backstage with Tyson Kidd and Natalya. We learn Natalya is banned from ringside during Kidd's match with Finlay tonight. Of course, he's confident.

Match #2 - Finlay (Belfast, Northern Ireland) vs. Tyson Kidd (Calgary, Alberta)

Kidd works the arm of Finlay, screaming "ask him!" to the referee. He then hits a real nice armbreaker. Kidd goes to the second rope but Finlay whips him down and hits three huge clotheslines and the Rolling Hills for two.

Finlay lifts Kidd up for the Celtic Cross but then David Hart Smith comes out of nowhere and lands a huge boot to the face of Finlay and then a beatdown commences. Finlay starts to slap back but Kidd comes in from behind and hits Finlay in the leg with the Shillelagh to put a stop to that. They go to the outside and Smith runs Finlay into the steps. Back in the ring, Smith lifts Finlay up and we've seen this before. Kidd hits the ropes and hits the Hart Attack on a helpless Finlay. Natalya joins them to celebrate in the middle of the ring. The crowd is not happy.

Winner via disqualification: Finlay

That was a great debut.

Zack Ryder is backstage with Tiffany, asking her if he can leave the show to go hit the gym. Tiffany says he can go. On his way out he runs into Paul and Katie Lea Burchill. He says to Paul, "woo woo woo" and then going past Katie Lea, "you know it!" This was awesome. Paul wants to know why he's not on the show tonight or last week. She says she's sorry, but not everybody can be on every week. He's not happy. Katie Lea then tells Tiffany that when Paul has too much time on his hands, he tends to get into trouble.

Kozlov video package. He has a strong neck.

Match #3 - Kozlov (Moscow, Russia) vs. Chad Collyer (218 pounds)

KOZLOV SQUASH!

Winner via pinfall: Kozlov

Christian is out for The Peep Show. I'm surprised the name "Peep Show" made it past the TV-PG requirements. The ECW Champion welcomes his guest, the former champion, Jack Swagger, to the ring.

Swagger ain't smiling this time around. He says this is so stupid. Christian says they are here to talk about Judgment Day, but Swagger cuts him off and says he wants to talk about Backlash and how Christian cheated to win the ECW Championship. He then shows a clip of how it went down.

Christian says Swagger just got outsmarted. Instead of talking about it, though, Christian has a video package that essentially makes fun of Swagger. Swaggers asks what that proves and Christian says nothing, he just likes making him look stupid. Swagger says in six months, Christian will be sitting on his couch -- his comeback failed. Christian doesn't like that and hits Swagger in the melon with the microphone. Swagger bails and doesn't want any more physicality. Christian holds the title up as the show closes.
