ECW: Bourne, Kidd steal show
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on ECW on Sci-Fi: It's a turbulent time in the Land of Extreme. Before facing Jack Swagger at Judgment Day, ECW Champion Christian has a tough non-title tilt on his platter tonight as he faces "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry in the main event. In other news, Evan Bourne and Tyson Kidd rule. Should be a good one!

And we are "LIVE!" from Pittsburgh, Pa. Josh Mathews and Matt Striker are our hosts. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG,V).

Match #1 - Evan Bourne (St. Louis, MO) vs. Tyson Kidd (Calgary, Alberta)

Great bit of chain wrestling to start, very fast. An extremely quick pace to this match in the early going. Bourne gets distracted by Natalya on the outside and Kidd sneaks up on him, but Bourne turns around and punches him. Back on the inside, Bourne hits a headscissors takedown and Kidd has decided he's had enough of this and rolls to the outside to regroup.

We're back and Bourne is still in control. Striker tells us Kidd was working on Bourne's midsection during the break. Bourne charges at Kidd in the corner, but Kidd moves. Bourne jumps onto the second rope but Kidd lands a vicious kick to the back of Bourne's left leg and that turns the tide.

Kidd lands another vicious kick, this time to the square of the back. Kidd locks Bourne up with a double-shoulderlock. Bourne works to his feet and runs Kidd face-first into the turnbuckle to break the hold but runs right into a tilt-a-whirl slam on his way back out for two. Snap suplex gets two for Kidd and he goes back to work on Bourne with a chinlock with a knee square in the back.

Crowd starts to get behind Bourne and he works his way back up and lands a jumping knee. Bourne hits a springboard kick to the back of Tyson's head for two. Kidd flips Bourne to the apron and Natalya pulls him down from behind. Kidd hits a baseball slide and goes looking for the springboard elbow but all of a sudden Natalya slides into the ring. And then we see why Finlay is on his way to the ringside area. With the referee distracted by Natalya, Finlay clocks Kidd in the leg with the Shillelagh. And Kidd conveniently falls into perfect position for the Shooting Star Press, which Bourne lands for the fall.

Winner via pinfall: Evan Bourne

Great, fun match.

Josh Mathews is in the ring and he welcomes our former ECW kingpin Jack Swagger to the ring. Swagger, looking dapper as usual, strolls to the ring. Mathews asks him about ruining last week's ECW Championship match. He says it was justice. He says he interfered because he wants to face Christian at Judgment Day. He says it was a joke for Tommy Dreamer to get the shot. As Swagger is talking, Dreamer hits the ring and attacks Swagger. Swagger gets out of the ring and heads up the ramp as Dreamer asks him to go right now.

Tiffany is in the back on her phone when Zack Ryder hops in with a new gimmick as the biggest bro walking Earth. Tiffany says he's going to face Finlay this week on Superstars. This was something.

Kozlov promo aired. I will just refer to him as Kozlov from now on because it's more fun. He's up next, apparently. Oh boy.

Squash #1 - Kozlov (Moscow, Russia) vs. Jesse Guilmette (Pittsburgh, Pa.)

I'm actually timing this one. USA chant fires up in the crowd. Kozlov murders him in 90 seconds.

Winner via pinfall: Kozlov

Gregory Helms is backstage with Mark Henry. Henry says nothing of importance. Woo.

Match #2 - Christian (Toronto, Ontario) vs. Mark Henry (Silsbee, Texas)

Henry shows off his power in the early-going. He press slams Christian for two. Christian goes for a sunset flip but Henry goes to sit down and Christian moves and dropkicks Henry's back and then Jack Swagger hits out of nowhere to attack Christian. The referee calls for the bell.

Winner via disqualification: Christian

As Swagger is attacking Christian, Tommy Dreamer comes out and pulls Swagger off Christian and attacks him. Now the faces double team Swagger and clothesline him out of the ring.

Of course this leads Tiffany to the ramp to make this a tag team match. I didn't see this one coming.

Match #3 - Christian (Toronto, Ontario) & Tommy Dreamer (Yonkers, N.Y.) vs. Mark Henry (Silsbee, Texas) & Jack Swagger (Perry, Okla.)

We're back and I don't think things are looking good for DJ Gabriel when Christian is using his finishing move (European uppercut from the second rope, in case you forgot) as a throw-away move in the middle of a tag team match.

Henry and Swagger then gain control and isolate Dreamer, working on his neck. Dreamer tries to push to his corner for the tag, but Swagger rolls through the front headlock to keep Dreamer away. Finally, Dreamer gets out and both men tag their partners. Striker compares Christian's lefts and rights to Manny Pacquiao. Riiiiiiiiiight.

Christian hits a chop block but gets two. Then Henry takes him out. Swagger tags in and hits a Vader Bomb. Swagger locks up a bear hug and runs Christian into the corner and tags Henry back in. Henry goes to work on Christian's neck and then picks him up by the head and slams him down for two.

Swagger comes back in and doesn't get the best of things. He is composed enough to work a front headlock. Christian escapes and is able to tag in Dreamer, who comes in on fire against Swagger, hitting a reverse neckbreaker and a bulldog for two. Dreamer puts Swagger in the Tree of Woe but Henry comes into attack Dreamer and Dreamer just steps aside and Henry runs into Swagger.

It's a big mess from there. They battle outside and inside, Dreamer goes for the DDT on Swagger, but Swagger pulls Dreamer into the now-exposed middle turnbuckle. From there, it's the gut-wrench powerbomb and a pin.

Winners via pinfall: Jack Swagger & Mark Henry
