Fine line between good and evil
By TIM BAINES - Ottawa Sun

There was a day (and my receding hairline, double chins and jelly belly may mean that it was many, many years ago) that wrestling's faces (good guys) and heels (the despicable ones) were clearly defined.

You cheered for the faces and booed the hell out of the heels. While the faces smiled and signed autographs, the heels would sneer and try to fend off cane attacks from little old ladies.

The lines aren't so clearly drawn out anymore. Sometimes bad is good and good is bad.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin was as ornery as they came. But his beer-drinking, hell-raising, authority-defying ways made him arguably WWE's biggest star of all-time. Some fans boo John Cena, many others love him. Randy Orton is a sneaky, conniving SOB, but he still draws cheers.

Abdullah the Butcher will carve up an opponent's face, then pose for photos with fans.

Times have changed. I kind of miss the old days.

TNA TITLE CHANGES

Mick Foley is a champ again. Foley won the TNA world heavyweight title at Sunday's Lockdown pay-per-view. Team 3D's legacy took another jump as they won the tag belts from Beer Money Inc. Despite an in-match concussion, Angelina Love won the TNA Knockouts title.

AROUND THE RING

Some old WWE faces have joined TNA. Trevor Murdoch surfaced as Jethro Holiday at the Impact tapings. Paul London was in, then quickly back out again, this week. Bobby Lashley is in. Stevie Richards appeared at Lockdown. Former TNA high-flyer Amazing Red also returned. Tazz is also apparently on the way when his non-compete clause expires ... The Ring of Honor show scheduled for July 24 in Montreal has been cancelled. It looks like Ring of Honor will instead do a doubleheader, performing in Toronto on July 24 and 25 ... Umaga has returned to action for WWE ... The Wrestling Observer reports that WWE has released legendary Superstar Billy Graham from his $2,000-a-month gig.
