Hulkster has an O.J. moment
By TIM BAINES - Ottawa Sun
It's one thing for a wrestler to threaten another's life in that soap-opera rollercoaster ride wrestling gives us.
It's quite another to cross the line in real life, especially if you're Hulk Hogan.
The legendary wrestler, whose boa feathers have become ruffled by his 49-year-old former wife Linda, who has been in the company of a 19-year-old "shaggy-haired pool boy," isn't doing himself any favours. Not when he comes out with this in Rolling Stone magazine: "I could have turned everything into a crime scene, like O.J. (Simpson), cutting everybody's throat. You live half a mile from the 20,000-sq.-ft. home you can't go to anymore, you're driving through downtown Clearwater and see a 19-year-old boy driving your Escalade, and you know that a 19-year-old boy is sleeping in your bed, with your wife ... I totally understand O.J. I get it."
Wow, WWE storylines pale in comparison.
DRAFT A BORE
The annual WWE Draft should be a big deal.
It should be a highlight of WWE's schedule. It should be a night of surprises, with more twists and turns than Lindsay Lohan's lovelife. But it has become tedious, a tired format that needs reworking.
Why not steal a page from the books of Major League Baseball and the National Hockey League, who have both turned their trade deadlines into such a big deal? Why not have the GMs from RAW, Smackdown! and ECW working on trades leading into the draft, then putting together a couple of blockbusters on the show?
Here are the results from the WWE Draft:
Going to RAW -- Matt Hardy, Triple H, The Miz, Maryse, Mr. Kennedy, Primo, Nikki Bella, Chavo Guerrero, Hornswoggle, Carlito, Festus, The Brian Kendrick and Brie Bella.
Going to Smackdown! -- Melina, CM Punk, Kane, Chris Jericho, Rey Mysterio, Shad Gaspard, Alicia Fox, Mike Knox, Candice Michelle, Ricky Ortiz, Layla, John Morrison, JTG, Dolph Ziggler and Charlie Haas.
Going to ECW -- Vladimir Kozlov, Ezekiel Jackson, Zack Ryder, DH Smith, Natalya and Shane "Hurricane" Helms.
