Impact: Joe gains collateral
By CHRIS & BRYAN SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

Last week on Impact, Samoa Joe earned the right to be TNA's team captain at Lethal Lockdown, however, in a post match interviewed, he declined the spot. This week, TNA founder, Jeff Jarrett will announce a new captain to lead his troops into battle. Also on the broadcast, Team 3D will take on Main Event Mafia Security and the Knockouts are in action.

The show began with a video package hyping the replacement of Samoa Joe as Team TNA's captain in Lethal Lockdown.

The TNA Impact opener came on next, as Mike Tenay and Don West did their usual intro.

Jeff Jarrett entered the Impact Zone and talked about how for the next few weeks on Impact, the team captains from TNA and The Main Event Mafia would pick their teammates and as guys were picked, they would take on each other and the first team to score two points would get the advantage going into Lethal Lockdown. Jarrett said that since Joe declined his spot as team captain, he had to find a replacement and he choose AJ Styles. Styles came out and also declined the spot. He talked about how it was Jarrett that believed in TNA and gave a bunch of independent guys a chance and said that the team captain for TNA should be someone that believed in it from the beginning. Jarrett and Styles embraced, as Scott Steiner made his way into the Impact Zone. Steiner offered Jarrett a spot with the Main Event Mafia, took which Styles took great offense. Steiner talked about how Jarrett should trust him like his wife did. Styles butted into their conversation and challenged Steiner to a match for a point in the Lethal Lockdown Advantage Series. Before Steiner left, he told Jarrett again that he could trust him.

Backstage, Jeremy Borash spoke to Kurt Angle, Booker T, Kevin Nash, Sharmell and the Main Event Mafia security. Angle talked about how Sting was always in the Mafia and that his paranoia got the best of him. Angle promised to apologize publicly to Sting later in the show. Angle also mentioned how Jeff Jarrett belonged in the Mafia. When former Survivor Amazon winner, Jenna Morasca came up, Angle told Nash to make sure she didn't invest millions into TNA and instead told him to charm the pants off her.

Lauren caught up with Sheik Abdul Bashir who was given 15 seconds by TNA management to speak. Bashir said he didn't need the 15 seconds and that he was adding to his army. In walked Kiyoshi and Team No Limit.

Match One - Eight Man Tag Team Match - Sheik Abdul Bashir, Kiyoshi and Team No Limit (Yujiro Takahashi and Tetsuya Naito) vs. Lethal Consequences (Jay Lethal and Consequences Creed) and LAX (Homicide and Hernandez)

All of the competitors got involved here, with Consequences Creed and Sheik Abdul Bashir going at it in the ring. Creed had Bashir up on his shoulders, when Bashir raked his eyes and hit the the DDT on him on for the win.

Winners Via Pinfall - Sheik Abdul Bashir, Kiyoshi and Team No Limit (Yujiro Takahashi and Tetsuya Naito)

In their office, Jeremy Borash talked to Jeff Jarrett and Mick Foley. Borash asked Jarrett if he was shocked about Steiner's offer to join the Main Event Mafia. Foley intervened and said not to look for logic in all of this. Jarrett said he never thought he'd see the day where he regretted letting Foley buy into TNA. He said that Foley pushed back months of work by hitting Sting with the steel chair. Foley said that TNA needed the Mafia. He also promised to make a big announcement later on Impact that would show he was a fit leader. Foley took off, as Jarrett pondered what he was going to do next.

After a commercial break, Jeremy Borash stood by as Jim Cornette spoke to Team 3D. 3D mentioned how Cornette owed them a favor and Cornette promised to make good on it. The Main Event Mafia Security barged in and challenged Team 3D to a match, which they accepted.

As Mike Tenay and Don West were doing some hype, The Beautiful People interrupted them. They said that they were going to shave Taylor Wilde's head later on.

A video package was shown on the Six Sides of Steel.

Mike Tenay did a sit-down interview with Mick Foley, who talked about having a really big elbow drop from a high height left in him. He said that he came to TNA and was happy with a behind the scenes role, but when it comes to being TNA Heavyweight Champion, he said "Why not?"

Mike Tenay questioned Mick Foley's answer to the question and what he could have meant by it.

Dr. Stevie was shown with Abyss. Stevie asked Abyss why he was missing sessions, to which Abyss replied he was cured and was with his family. Stevie told Abyss he didn't have a family. Abyss talked about accepting Matt Morgans challenge at Lockdown to a Doomsday Chamber of Blood match. Stevie flipped and smacked Abyss around, screaming at him for accepting the match, before sitting back down and calmly saying, "Same time next week, Chris?" To which Abyss replied, "Yes Dr. Stevie."

A Rough Cuts segment was shown on Team 3D.

Match Two - Main Event Mafia Security (Rocco and Sal) vs. Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon)

Beer Money Inc. was at ringside for commentary and "inadvertently" distracted Team 3D, allowing the Main Event Mafia Security to attack them from behind. Team 3D was able to hit the 3D and get the victory in this match.

Winners Via Pinfall - Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon)

After the match, Rocco hit Team 3D with a steel chair. Beer Money Inc. hit the ring and James Storm whacked Rocco with the chair, before handing Team 3D their IWGP tag team titles in a show of respect.

Backstage, Jeremy Borash told Mick Foley to make amends with Jeff Jarrett, but Foley said that Jarrett was raining on his parade. They bumped into Samoa Joe, who said he wanted the Main Event Mafia and asked Foley to make it happen. Foley told Joe to put the knife away and he would see what he could do.

Lauren interviewed Beer Money Inc. who said that what they did with Team 3D was a reassurance to their skeptics that they are changed men and that up until Lockdown, they had Team 3D's backs. They promised victory at Lockdown, saying they would capture the IWGP Tag Team Championships.

Kurt Angle entered the Impact Zone, with Kevin Nash, Booker T and Sharmell, followed by Sting. Angle apologized to Sting, who said that Angle was the biggest brat of all in TNA. Angle said he was who he was and he couldn't change that. Nash got involved and told Sting to turn the other cheek and said that if he walked out on Angle's apology, he wouldn't truly know what respect was all about. Mick Foley showed up in the rafters with a barbed wire baseball bat. He told Sting that he made an executive shareholder decision and that later on, he would be in a non-title match against Samoa Joe.

Dr. Stevie spoke to Daffney, who talked about being crazy. She said she had been doing some odd jobs in Hollywood, when Taylor Wilde and Roxxi called her to prank The Beautiful People. She said she was happy to do the job, but when they cut her hair, all her suppressed feelings came back to her. She said that doctors told her she has chemicals in her brain that can't be fixed and that her brain has a life of it's own. She thanked Dr. Stevie for listening to her.

Match Three - Madison Rayne w/ The Beautiful People (Angelina Love and Velvet Sky) vs. Taylor Wilde

The Beautiful People got invovled, but Taylor Wilde was able to fight the odds and get the pin on Madison Rayne.

Winner Via Pinfall - Taylor Wilde

After the match, The Beautiful People attacked Taylor Wilde and held her, so they could cut her hair, but she escaped. The Beautiful People were upset with Madison Rayne for letting her get away.

Following a commercial break, The Beautiful People and Madison Rayne were shown attacking Taylor Wilde in the shower and cutting her hair, as TNA security ran in to make the save.

Lauren spoke to Jenna Morasca and asked her if she heard what Kurt Angle had said earlier in the night. She didn't and thought it had to be good. Kevin Nash walked in and pretty much swept Morasca away for dinner, as Lauren tried to tell Morasca what Angle said. Nash hurried her away and stared at Lauren.

Match Four - Lethal Lockdown Advantage Match - "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner vs. "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles

Back and forth match here. Referee, Mark "Slick" Johnson got pulled into a springboard forearm from AJ Styles, knocking him out. Kurt Angle ran to ringside and slid Scott Steiner a chair, which Styles knocked away with a Pele Kick. Styles grabbed the chair, as Jeff Jarrett came down and brawled with Angle. As the referee was waking up, Jarrett got on the apron, pulled the chair away from Styles and yelled at him not to get disqualified. As the referee dealt with Jarrett, Styles got hit by Steiner and dropped on the chair to give the Mafia the win.

Winner Via Pinfall - "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner - Lethal Lockdown Advantage Points (Main Event Mafia - 1 ::: TNA - 0)

Jeremy Borash talked to Sting, who said he would take care of Mick Foley next week and that this week, he had to deal with Samoa Joe.

Match Five - "The Icon" Sting vs. "The Samoan Submission Machine" Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe had things going his way when he tossed referee, Andrew Thomas, causing the disqualification.

Winner Via Disqualification - "The Icon" Sting

Referee, Rudy Charles came out and got a knee to the midsection from Samoa Joe, while referee, Earl Hebner yelled from outside the ring. Joe hit Sting with a Muscle Buster and locked in the rear naked choke, as Booker T ran in to make the save. Booker threw some kicks, but got taken down by Joe, who went to hit him with a steel chair, only for Sharmell to get in the way and protect her husband. Joe dropped the chair and left, but before he walked away, he grabbed Sharmell and carried her outside the Impact Zone to round out another episode of Impact.
