Impact: Captain Joe
By CHRIS & BRYAN SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling
With Lockdown approaching, it's time to find out who the two team captains will be going into the Lethal Lockdown match-up. That decision will be made tonight in a 20 Man Six Sides of Steel Gauntlet Elimination match. The X Division title is also up for grabs as Suicide defends against Kiyoshi. Plus the Knockouts will be in tag team action.
The show began with a package hyping the 20 Man Six Sides of Steel Gauntlet Elimination match.
The regular Impact opener followed, before we were sent to the ring for a few announcements.
Jim Cornette spoke about this year being the fifth anniversary of the Lockdown pay-per-view. He talked about the first half of the Lockdown Double Main Event, which will be Sting defending his TNA Heavyweight Championship against Mick Foley. Cornette then went over the rules for the Lethal Lockdown match and talked about the gauntlet, as the competitors watched on from the ramp. Cornette said that the last two competitors in the match would be the two team captains. He said it was a new day in TNA and everyone was going to be treated fairly. The Main Event Mafia came out, with Kurt Angle saying that he was going to be their team captain at Lockdown and that his team would consist of him, Kevin Nash, Booker T and Scott Steiner. Angle talked about the Mafia being in the gauntlet match and ran down the TNA roster, before being interrupted by Jeff Jarrett, who came to the ring in gear. Jarrett lashed back at Angle and said that he entered himself in the gauntlet just to take care of Angle. Jarrett then sucker punched Angle, leading to a pull apart brawl.
Back from a commercial break, Mike Tenay and Don West recapped what just happened between Jeff Jarrett and Kurt Angle.
In the Main Event Mafia locker room, Kurt Angle flipped about Jeff Jarrett. He sent Kevin Nash and Jenna Morasca on their way, before continuing his complaining. Scott Steiner told Angle he would go to the office and take care of Jarrett, while Angle vowed to make sure Jarrett didn't make the gauntlet.
Match One - TNA X Division Championship Match - Kiyoshi w/ Team No Limit vs. Suicide (C)
They recapped Suicide's victory at Destination X. This was a pretty good match-up, that saw Team No Limit try to get involved, only to have Suicide send Kiyoshi into them. The mis-communication left Kiyoshi prone to the Suicide Solution, which was enough to get the pin and the win for a successful first title defense.

A Lockdown package was shown.
In the backstage area, Kurt Angle was walking around with a lead pipe. He say a picture of Jeff Jarrett and destroyed it, before continuing his search for the "King of the Mountain."
Back from the commercial break, clips were shown of Kurt Angle making his way into Jeff Jarrett's office, only to have the Frontline there defending him. The two sides jawed back and forth.
Lauren caught up with The Beautiful People and Madison Rayne. Angelina Love threw a fit and sent Lauren away. They talked about how Awesome Kong and Riesha Saeed were going to get a beating. They informed Rayne that although she passed her first test last week, the hazing would continue, as she would have to get the braids out of Kong's head to move to the next level.
A TNA Rough Cuts segement was shown on Brother Ray.
They played a package that highlighted the feud between Team 3D and Beer Money Inc.
A sit down interview was shown with Mike Tenay talking to Beer Money Inc. and Team 3D. They two sides argued back and forth about how much their match at Lockdown means to them. Robert Roode asked Team 3D if they knew what they were getting themselves into.
Mike Tenay and Don West recapped the interview and hyped the gauntlet match.
A package was shown to hype the Sting vs. Mick Foley, TNA Heavyweight Championship match at Lockdown.
Lauren spoke to Sting in the back, who said that there was no logical reason for Mick Foley to do what he did to him and that there are no excuses. Sting said that he didn't know what he was going to say when he sees Foley in the ring later on Impact, but warned him that if he brought weapons into play again, he was prepared.
Back from a commercial break, Lauren got Mick Foley's reaction to Sting's comments. Foley said that he saw the footage from last week and he was wrong. He said that he was going to go to the ring, apologize, they would shake hands and hug. Lauren cautioned Foley about the baseball bat, to which Foley replied that there was no need for more violence.
Match Two - Awesome Kong and Riesha Saeed vs. The Beautiful People (Angelina Love and Velvet Sky) w/ Madison Rayne
The Beautiful People were able to use their quickness in this match to counter the power of Awesome Kong. Riesha Saeed was on the receiving end of the Lights Out from Angelina Love, which gave The Beautiful People the win.

After the match, The Beautiful People and Madison Rayne attacked Awesome Kong and went to cut off her braids with the scissors. Kong fought them all off and sent them running up the ramp.
Mick Foley and Sting were shown making their way into the Impact Zone.
Sting made his way to the ring first and called out Mick Foley. Foley came out and tried talking to Sting and explained why he did what he did. The two of them argued a bit, as Sting told Foley that the respect he had for him was starting to change. Foley wound up telling Sting that at Lockdown, they would be making history and that as far as big dives off cages go, he still has a couple left him. Foley then left, as Sting looked on.
