Impact: The Mafia gets stung
By CHRIS & BRYAN SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

Last week on Impact, Sting and Kurt Angle went toe-to-toe in an Empty Arena match which ended in a no contest. This week, the Mafia looks to rebound while a four way TNA X Division Championship Ladder match takes the main event slot. Beer Money Inc. will also be in action, as well as the TNA Knockouts. So without further ado, onto the report!

The show began with a recap of last week's episode of Impact, followed by the usual Mike Tenay and Don West banter, as well as the Impact opener.

Match One - The Beautiful People (Angelina Love and Velvet Sky) w/ Cute Kip vs. Taylor Wilde and Madison Rayne

The feud between The Beautiful People and Taylor Wilde continued, as TNA's newest Knockout, Madison Rayne, joined the mix. Cute Kip got involved, and eventually Rayne turned on Wilde, leading to the Beautiful Backstabber by Velvet Sky on Wilde for the pinfall victory.

Winners Via Pinfall - The Beautiful People (Angelina Love and Velvet Sky)

Footage was shown from earlier in the day, of the Main Event Mafia arriving and walking right by Jeremy Borash.

Inside the Main Event Mafia locker room, Jeremy Borash spoke to Kurt Angle, asking if he would be taking on Sting at Destination X. During Angle's hissy fit, two Orlando police officers arrived, looking for "Mr. Huffman." Booker T went outside, as Angle and Scott Steiner made fun of his last name. Borash tried to join in, but got shut up.

Match Two - TNA Tag Team Championship Off The Wagon Challenge Match - Beer Money Inc. (James Storm and Robert Roode) w/ Jackie Moore (C) vs. The Rock N Rave Infection (Lance Rock and Jimmy Rave)

The Rock N Rave Infection actually had things going somewhat their way, until Jackie Moore got involved, distracting the referee and allowing James Storm to hit Lance Rock with one of the tag team title belts. Robert Roode made the cover and got the win, to send Lance Rock out of TNA.

Winners Via Pinfall and STILL TNA Tag Team Champions - Beer Money Inc. (James Storm and Robert Roode)

After the match, The Rock N Rave Infection looked shocked, as Lance Rock said goodbye to TNA.

Footage was shown from earlier in the day, of Jeremy Borash watching Sting arrive. He asked Sting about taking on Kurt Angle at Destination X, but got no answer. Someone was shown in the background spying on Sting as this took place.

Jeremy Borash stood by with Booker T, who was in his locker room that was trashed. Booker complained and said that this was all AJ Styles' fault. Mike Tenay and Don West then recapped what's been going on between Styles and Booker.

Another therapy session between Abyss and Dr. Stevie was shown. Abyss talked about cutting himself and the Jonas Brothers.

They showed some of the progress being made on ODB's date search.

Booker T was shown again with the cops, yelling at them and sending them off to find AJ Styles. As they drove away, Styles attacked Booker, leading to TNA security breaking them apart.

Lauren spoke to Scott Steiner, who continued to put the smack talk on Samoa Joe. Joe arrived with a sling blade and held it to Steiner's throat. He promised that he would torture Steiner, before throwing him to the floor. Steiner then retreated as Joe stood tall.

Mike Tenay and Don West talked about the Frontline's rally back.

Jeremy Borash spoke to Jeff Jarrett, who said that he knew it was only a matter of time before the Main Event Mafia's egos would go at it. He said that things were going to get back to normal.

Hardcore History 101 with Mick Foley was up next, with Foley talking about some of his great matches, including his encounter with Shawn Michaels at In Your House: Mind Games, his tag match with the Rock at Wrestlemania and his hardcore bout with Randy Orton at Backlash.

Mike Tenay stood in the ring and called out the Main Event Mafia. Tenay asked about a match between Sting and Kurt Angle at Destination X. Kevin Nash stepped up as the Mafia spokesman and tried to cool the waters, until Jeff Jarrett came out and stirred the pot. Booker T got on Jarrett, who laid down the law and said that Angle and Sting would fight at Destination X and the contract would be signed later in the night.

After the commercial break, Mike Tenay and Don West talked about what happened with Jeff Jarrett and Kurt Angle. Tenay thanked Jarrett for what he's been doing and West fired back, saying that since Tenay felt like kissing up, he should do it to Sting in the back. West then got on the mic and went on a rant about how there was a meeting earlier in the week about West's TNA future and that Tenay did nothing to stick up for him. West went berserk on Tenay and left him shocked.

Lauren walked in on Kongtourage meltdown, as we got sent back to ringside, for a replay of Don West's explosive comments. Sojournor Bolt then came out with Rhaka Kahn. They called out Awesome Kong and Riesha Saeed and we have the next match.

Match Three - Rhaka Kahn and Sojournor Bolt vs. Awesome Kong and Riesha Saeed

This was a back and forth match, that saw Sojournor Bolt execute a backslide pin on Riesha Saeed to pick up the win. After the match, Awesome Kong came in and took down Bolt and Rhaka Kahn, before hitting Bolt with an Awesome Bomb on top of Kahn.

Winners Via Pinfall - Rhaka Kahn and Sojournor Bolt

Mike Tenay hyped the "moment of truth" for the Main Event Mafia.

A Rough Cuts segment was shown on the Ultimate X match.

A music video from Hoobastank was shown, featuring the theme for Destination X, as well as some highlights from some past Ultimate X matches.

Match Four - TNA X Division Championship Four Way Ladder Match - Alex Shelley (C) vs. Chris Sabin vs. Jay Lethal vs. Consequences Creed

This was a good match. Alex Shelley was able to ascend the ladder and grab the TNA X Division Championship belt to win the match. As he did, Suicide appeared and took him out, as well as Chris Sabin, Jay Lethal and Consequences Creed. Suicide cleaned house and left the X Division belt on top of Shelley as the lights went out and he took off. When the lights came back on, Shelley and Sabin were shown consoling each other.

Winner and STILL TNA X Division Champion - Alex Shelley

Jeff Jarrett came entered the Impact Zone, as it was time for the Sting/Kurt Angle contract signing. He called out Angle, who came with the rest of the Main Event Mafia. Kevin Nash told Jarrett that Angle wasn't going through with the match, because they said so. Jarrett got in Angle's face and said that he wasn't the boss of the Mafia after all, since he was taking a backseat to Nash. Angle got enraged and whacked Jarrett with the clipboard. Mick Foley went in for the save, but was also beaten by Angle. Sting came out with a baseball bat and smacked Angle with it, knocking him out, as the Mafia hit the floor. Sting, helped up Jarrett and Foley, then signed the contract, before dropping it on Angle's laid out body. Mafia security hit the ring and tended to Angle, rounding out another edition of Impact.
