Impact: Mafia Melee
By CHRIS & BRYAN SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

The Main Event Mafia had an implosion of sorts on last week's episode of Impact, as Kurt Angle and Sting butted heads. This week, the two Mafia leaders look to settle the score with one another in an Empty Arena match. Also on tap, the Knockouts are in action and Beer Money Inc. introduces the "Off The Wagon Challenge."

A recap was shown of what happened between Sting and Kurt Angle on last week's Impact.

In Jeff Jarrett's office, Jeremy Borash stood by as Jim Cornette pleaded with Jeff Jarrett not to let the Empty Arena match happen, because of potential lawsuits. Mick Foley chimed in about his match with The Rock and Cornette told him to keep quiet. During the argument, Cornette sent Borash out of the room and said they would come to a solution.

The Impact opener played, followed by the usual rundown from Mike Tenay and Don West.

Kurt Angle entered the Impact Zone and talked about how Sting was destroying the Main Event Mafia. Angle urged Jeff Jarrett to make sure the Empty Arena match took place in the main event so that he could take care of Sting.

Backstage, Lauren spoke to The Motor City Machine Guns, who talked about how kind and generous they are. This prompted Lethal Consequences to attack them and jump-start their No Holds Barred Street Fight.

Match One - No Holds Barred Street Fight - The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) vs. Lethal Consequences (Jay Lethal and Consequences Creed)

This was pretty much a brawl, with chair shots and all. Chris Sabin was able to whack Consequences Creed with the TNA X Division Championship belt, allowing Alex Shelley to make the cover and get the pin.

Winners Via Pinfall - The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin)

Jeremy Borash stood by once again with Jim Cornette, Jeff Jarrett and Mick Foley. Cornette announced that Jarrett's decision would be final and the Empty Arena match between Kurt Angle and Sting would take place.

After a commercial break, Jeremy Borash caught up with the Main Event Mafia, minus Sting, in their locker room. They tried to talk Kurt Angle out of the match and Angle got into a shouting match with Booker T. Kevin Nash sent Booker and Borash to hallway. As he did, Borash asked if this was the end of the Mafia. While Booker was talking, he was jumped by AJ Styles, who hit him with the TNA Legends Championship belt and promised to finish him at Destination X.

Beer Money Inc. and Jackie Moore made their way into the Impact Zone. Robert Roode issued the "Off The Wagon Challenge," which is where they put up their tag team titles against the other team's career in TNA. If they lose, they lose the belts, but if the other team loses, they are gone from TNA. They say that the first challenge will take place later tonight.

Lauren spoke to Roxxi, Taylor Wilde and "Governor Palin." Wilde talked about her match with Angelina Love and mentioned how Cute Kip couldn't get involved. She promised that they would come out on top.

Another therapy session between Abyss and Dr. Stevie was shown. Abyss talked about how he likes to inflict pain.

Match Two - Brutus Magnus, Sheik Abdul Bashir and Matt Morgan vs. Shane Sewell and LAX (Homicide and Hernandez)

This was a good back and forth match. Shane Sewell got the hot tag in the end and hit a nice top rope elbow drop on Sheik Abdul Bashir for the pinfall victory. After the match, he kissed the Puerto Rican flag in a tribute to his roots.

Winners Via Pinfall - Shane Sewell and LAX (Homicide and Hernandez)

Hardcore History 101 was up next with Mick Foley talking about his feud with Sting.

Jim Cornette came out and said that a team that hasn't teamed together in quite some time was coming back to take on James Storm and Robert Roode in their "Off The Wagon Challenge" later on.

Backstage, Lauren spoke to Scott Steiner, who said that he wasn't able to calm Kurt Angle down. She asked about Samoa Joe and Steiner said he wasn't afraid. As he was lifting his weights, an arm came into the shot and held the bar. Samoa Joe walked further in to reveal himself and said that he could take Steiner out right there, but he wanted him to think about what was going to happen at Destination X.

Lauren caught up with Sojournor Bolt, who said she planned on taking her TNA Knockouts Championship shot. Riesha Saeed walked in and basically told Bolt to back down, which Bolt said she wouldn't. Saeed then promised big problems as a result.

Match Three - Angelina Love w/ Velvet Sky and Cute Kip vs. Taylor Wilde w/ Roxxi and "Governor Palin"

Cute Kip tried to get involved, by tripping up Taylor Wilde, but referee, Rudy Charles ejected him. Later on in the match, Velvet Sky got involved, by distracting Charles. Angelina Love had the match won, but Charles was preoccupied with Sky. Love then got tripped up by "Governor Palin" and rolled up by Wilde for the win.

Winner Via Pinfall - Taylor Wilde

Jeremy Borash spoke to Sting in the rafters. Sting said that Kurt Angle was going to get exactly what he wanted and said to make sure the cameras stayed on, because he performs best when it's showtime.

A Rough Cuts segment was shown the Ultimate X match.

Match Four - TNA Tag Team Championship Off The Wagon Challenge Match - Beer Money Inc. (James Storm and Robert Roode) w/ Jackie Moore (C) vs. Eric Young and Petey Williams

This was an excellent back and forth match. Jackie Moore got involved during the match. Petey Williams had things going good for his team, as he caught Robert Roode and got him in position for a Canadian Destroyer, but as he did, James Storm hit him with the Last Call superkick, allowing Roode to make the cover and get the win. After the match, the Impact Zone chanted "Petey" as Eric Young gave him a hug. Williams left the ring in tears as his TNA career is over.

Winners Via Pinfall and STILL TNA Tag Team Champions - Beer Money Inc. (James Storm and Robert Roode)

Lauren was in the backstage area with Rhino and Team 3D. She asked them about the fight between Kurt Angle and Sting. Rhino and Team 3D agreed in hoping that Angle and Sting take each other out. They then grabbed a stack of singles and said they were heading over to the strip club.

The crowd was shown filing out of the Impact Zone as the Empty Arena match was coming up.

Back from a commercial break. The arena was shown completely emptied. Lauren was with the crowd outside as they were getting ready to watch on special monitors. She talked about the feud between Kurt Angle and Sting, as a package was shown on the rise and fall of the Main Event Mafia. On the other side of the building, Jeremy Borash got predictions and pitched it to Mike Tenay and Don West, who hyped the match, as Kurt Angle and Sting made their entrances.

Match Five - Empty Arena Match - Kurt Angle vs. Sting

This was an absolute brawl, with Sting even throwing Kurt Angle off the bleachers and to the floor. Kevin Nash made his way out during the fight and told them to stop. Sting offered a handshake, and when Angle shook his hand, he spit in his face the fight was back on. After a commercial break, it was shown that the Main Event Mafia was able to pull them apart, forcing a no contest.

Winner - No Contest

Lauren spoke to Sting, who said he's never been disrespected like this before and he will take on Angle anyplace, anytime.

Jeremy Borash talked with Kurt Angle and Kevin Nash. Angle demanded to see Jeff Jarrett, because he wants Sting. Nash said this was all Angle's fault, as Angle demanded a match with Sting at Destination X.
