Impact: Sting and Angle clash
By CHRIS & BRYAN SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

The Main Event Mafia is poised for a meltdown on tonight's edition of Impact, following the crazy night they had at Against All Odds. With AJ Styles and Samoa Joe back in TNA and a feud brewing between the two Mafia leaders, it seems all but certain that the Main Event Mafia is in some hot water.

The show began with highlights from the Against All Odds PPV.

The TNA Impact intro played, followed by the usual introductions from Mike Tenay and Don West.

Match One - Kurt Angle and Sting vs. Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon)

Kurt Angle pretty much refused to work with Sting, ignoring his calls to tag in and out. Eventually Sting and Angle wound up in a shoving match, that was broken up by the rest of the Main Event Mafia, who ran to ringside. When Angle refused to tag back into the match on several occasions, Sting brought him in the hard way and pushed him into a Devon schoolboy for the win.

Winners Via Pinfall - Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon)

After the match, Kurt Angle and Sting went at it, as the rest of the Mafia tried to break them up. Following a commercial break, Angle took the mic and called out Sting, demanding that he do the right thing by coming out later on in the show and laying down for him, so that Angle could capture the TNA Heavyweight Championship. Jeff Jarrett interrupted the arguing and said that he wouldn't allow Angle to do that. Angle questioned what he had to do to get rid of Jarrett, but Jarrett played him off. Jarrett again told Angle that he wasn't going to let Sting lay down, but Sting grabbed the mic away and told Jarrett that he would handle it himself, and said he was taking Angle up on his offer.

Mike Tenay and Don West recapped what happened with the Main Event Mafia, then hyped the showdown between Kurt Angle and Sting later on.

Jeremy Borash spoke to Booker T and Sharmell in the backstage area. Booker said that Sting would do the right thing later on. Booker also talked about taking care of AJ Styles and prosecuting him for stealing the TNA Legends Championship belt. As Booker and Sharmell entered their locker room, Booker was attacked by AJ Styles who was inside. Styles beat Booker all over the room and stood over him with the TNA Legends Championship belt.

Highlights were shown of Lauren speaking to Scott Steiner, who said that he wasn't afraid of Samoa Joe.

Match Two - Headdress on a Pole Match - Petey Williams vs. Scott Steiner

Scott Steiner beat on Petey Williams for most of the match, and even hit a Frankensteiner. Steiner brought his lead pipe into the ring, but Williams wound up using it. Williams almost had the headdress, but was grabbed and hit with a top rope Samoan Drop by Steiner, who proceeded to climb the ropes and get it himself.

Winner Via Grabbing the Headdress - Scott Steiner

After the match, Samoa Joe appeared on the TNAtron and warned Scott Steiner again that his Nation of Violence was coming.

Backstage, Jeremy Borash spoke to Mick Foley, who said that he knew Sting well enough to know that he wouldn't take the fall for Kurt Angle. Foley talked about his new Hardcore History segment and asked if Borash saw The Wrestler. He went on to tell Borash that it "kinda makes you think."

Match Three - 9 Woman Knockouts Gauntlet Number One Contenders Match - Angelina Love w/ Cute Kip vs. Taylor Wilde vs. Velvet Sky w/ Cute Kip vs. Sojournor Bolt vs. Roxxi vs. Madison Rayne vs. Riesha Saeed vs. Rhaka Kahn vs. ODB

Cute Kip kept saving Angelina Love and Velvet Sky until they were eventually eliminated. It came down to Madison Rayne and Sojournor Bolt, when the match turned into a regular match. Bolt was able to plant Rayne and pick up the pinfall victory. After the match, Riesha Saeed and Rhaka Kahn stood on the stage as Bolt celebrated in the ring.

Winner Via Pinfall and NEW Number One Contender to the TNA Knockouts Championship - Sojournor Bolt

Kurt Angle was shown sitting in his locker room, staring at a framed picture of Sting. He then took it and smashed it against the wall.

A Rough Cuts segment was shown on the Ultimate X match which returns at Destination X.

Match Four - The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) vs. Lethal Consequences (Jay Lethal and Consequences Creed)

Highlights were shown from Beer Money Inc's attack on Lethal Consequences. Jay Lethal and Consequences Creed continue their roll as a team, with Lethal picking up the pinfall victory over Alex Shelley. After the match, Shelley and Chris Sabin shook hands with Lethal Consequences, only to kick them in the balls right after.

Winners Via Pinfall - Lethal Consequences (Jay Lethal and Consequences Creed)

Backstage, Jeremy Borash hyped the TNA texting service and ran into Jeff Jarrett in the rafters. Jarrett said that they would have to wait to see what Sting does.

ODB's Angle was up next with her guest, Brutus Magnus. Magnus got harassed the whole time and was disgusted by ODB.

Lauren spoke to Kevin Nash, who said that Sting crossed the boss of the Main Event Mafia and said that he would have to do the right thing. Nash said he had to see Johnny Sack "about a thing," and took off.

Mike Tenay pitched it to some footage of Abyss in therapy. Abyss' therapist was known as Dr. Stevie, who based on the back of his head and his voice has to be Stevie Richards. Abyss talked about the Obama kids watching Family Guy. Interesting.

Match Five - TNA Tag Team Championship Match - Abyss and Rhino vs. Beer Money Inc. (James Storm and Robert Roode) w/ Jackie Moore (C)

Beer Money Inc cheated behind the referee's back quite a bit, even bringing the beer bottle into play. When Abyss got a hold of the bottle, Matt Morgan was out and ready with a steel chair, whacking him while the referee was distracted and allowing Beer Money Inc. to retain their belts.

Winners Via Pinfall and STILL TNA Tag Team Champions - Beer Money Inc. (James Storm and Robert Roode)

After the match, Beer Money Inc. beat on Rhino, while Matt Morgan hit Abyss again with the steel chair.

Kurt Angle and Sting were shown walking toward the ring.

In the first Hardcore History segment, Mick Foley talked about a barbed wire match he had with Terry Funk and says that afterward, they were battered, but they hugged like men.

Kurt Angle walked into the Impact Zone with referee Earl Hebner, followed by Sting. Angle demanded that Sting lay down, but before he did, Sting went on a rant and told Angle that he wasn't respected and he lost all he had, even his wife and family. Sting laid down and told Angle to cover him, but Angle was pissed and called out Sting, leading to a brawl, that was broken up by the rest of the Main Event Mafia and security. Angle then challenged Sting to an empty arena match on next week's Impact. An interesting ending to another episode of Impact.

Chris and Bryan Sokol are from Long Island, NY and enjoy Applebees Steaks.
