Impact: Main Event Mafia's in charge
By CHRIS & BRYAN SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

Just as they promised on last week's edition of Impact, the Main Event Mafia has staged a complete takeover of the Impact Zone and is running the show this week. On tap, The Kongtourage take on ODB in a Handicap match, Petey Williams squares off against Matt Morgan with one arm tied behind his back and Booker T goes up against the TNA referees. All that and more, on this episode of Impact!

The show began with a public service announcement from the Main Event Mafia.

In Jeff Jarrett's office, Jeremy Borash stood by with Kurt Angle and a security guard. Angle had a headset on and was controlling the show. Jim Cornette came in and tried to reason with Angle, but Angle didn't listen and went ahead with calling the shots.

The Impact intro played, followed by a rundown of the card, courtesy of Chet Lemon and Black Snow, otherwise known as Kevin Nash and Booker T.

In the back, Sharmell spoke to ODB, who told Sharmell that she would beat her up if the security guard wasn't their protecting her. Sharmell told ODB that the Main Event Mafia threw Taylor Wilde and Roxxi out of the building and that she would be going at it alone against the Kongtourage. ODB wasn't threatened and said she was ready to fight. Sharmell then pitched it to the ring announcer, Scott Steiner.

Match One - TNA Knockouts Handicap Match - The Kongtourage (Awesome Kong, Riesha Saeed, Rhaka Kahn and Sojournor Bolt) vs. ODB

ODB put up a good fight, but the numbers game caught up with her, as Awesome Kong planted her with the Implant Buster and picked up the win for her team.

Winners Via Pinfall - The Kongtourage (Awesome Kong, Riesha Saeed, Rhaka Kahn and Sojournor Bolt)

Jeremy Borash, Kurt Angle and Jim Cornette were shown still in Jeff Jarrett's office. Cornette and Borash both tried to reason with Angle, but Angle still wasn't listening. Angle mentioned how he was being fair and put Sting in a handicap match against Team 3D. Borash warned Angle that Mick Foley was on his way with back-up, but again, Angle didn't seem to mind. Angle lashed out at Borash. He told Borash that he's only helping him to get close to Karen Angle. Angle then gave him some Main Event Mafia t-shirts to go out and sell. Cornette told Borash he really handled things well, drawing a shut up from Angle.

Booker T pitched it to the back, where Sharmell spoke with TNA referees, Rudy Charles and Andrew Thomas. Charles seemed confident and talked about his amateur background. Thomas was nervous, but Charles said to just follow his lead.

Match Two - Handicap Match - Rudy Charles and Andrew Thomas vs. Booker T

This was, as expected, a squash. Kevin Nash hyped the TNA mobile service, while Booker T hit Rudy Charles with an Axe Kick and finished off Andrew Thomas with the Bookend, before forcing Earl Hebner to make the count.

Winner Via Pinfall - Booker T

After the match, Booker T grabbed referee, Earl Hebner, but referee, Shane Sewell came out and made the save, only to get turned around and hit with an Axe Kick.

A package was shown on the Main Event Mafia, while in the back, Kurt Angle and Kevin Nash talked about some hot chick. Sting barged in and asked Angle what was going on. Sting reminded Angle that they would be in the ring together at Against All Odds and that he could have Sting as a friend or an enemy, so he'd better get his act together.

After a commercial break, Sharmell spoke to Matt Morgan, who promised to defeat Petey Williams. Morgan talked about how he was named the biggest Gladiator in American Gladiators history. He told Abyss to watch closely what he does to Williams, because it is going to be just a taste of what he has coming at Against All Odds.

Match Three - Matt Morgan vs. Petey Williams

Petey Williams had one arm tied behind his back for this match. Scott Steiner stayed at ringside and talked Matt Morgan through the match. At one point, while they were talking, referee, Mark "Slick" Johnson, untied Williams' arm and Williams fired up on Morgan, however, Steiner's distraction, which led to Williams knocking him off the apron, allowed Morgan to hit an impressive, Carbon Footprint on Williams for the win.

Winner Via Pinfall - Matt Morgan

After the match, Matt Morgan hit Petey Williams with the Blueprint Bomb, before Scott Steiner put Williams in the Steiner Recliner. Eric Young and Consequences Creed ran out to make the save, but Booker T jumped into the mix, while commentating on the microphone and helped to beat up the Frontline members.

After a commercial break, Booker T and Kevin Nash welcomed us back and ran down what happened so far. Team 3D interrupted, walking to the ring with the IWGP tag team titles they just won and talked about how they felt bad for Sting, but said they were going to beat him up tonight and take his title at Against All Odds.

Match Four - Handicap Match - Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon) vs. Sting

Sting did his best to fight off Team 3D, who also battled with Scott Steiner at ringside. As Team 3D had things going their way, the referee was distracted by Steiner, allowing Booker T to slide in and hit Brother Ray with a Bookend. Ray was able to fight back, as Kurt Angle made his way out. Just as 3D was about to pick up the victory, Angle got involved and caused the DQ. Steiner then joined him in the ring and the beatdown ensued.

Winners Via Disqualification - Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon)

After the match, the beating continued, with Booker T grabbing a table. Mick Foley, LAX and Abyss came out and cleared the ring of the Main Event Mafia. After a commercial break, Foley grabbed the mic and said that he was taking the show back over. He talked about how Hernandez got screwed out of the TNA Heavyweight Championship match he earned from the Feast or Fired match, so he would be getting a rematch down the road. Foley also announced that later on Impact, Scott Steiner would take on Abyss in a match where only Abyss could use weapons. Foley then announced a main event of Kurt Angle vs. LAX in a Handicap match and told Angle that his booking career was over, as Angle flipped.

Backstage, Jim Cornette spoke to David Penzer, Mike Tenay, Don West and Lauren. He told them all to get back to work and says for Tenay and West to get back to the announce table, because he has a big announcement for Against All Odds.

At the announce table, Mike Tenay and Don West ran down the card for Against All Odds. Jim Cornette came out and announced that as a revenge against the Main Event Mafia, referee, Shane Sewell will take on Booker T at Against All Odds.

Match Five - Weapons Match - Scott Steiner vs. Abyss

This was just a brawl, with Abyss smacking around Scott Steiner and busting him open with a trash can. Abyss put himself through the Spanish announce table stand. The fight made it's way back to the ring, with Abyss chokeslamming Steiner onto a trash can. Steiner eventually got fed up and used his steel pipe on Abyss and was disqualified, since weapons were only legal for Abyss.

Winner Via Disqualification - Abyss

After the match, Scott Steiner continued to attack Abyss, until the lights went out and Suicide appeared. Suicide took out Steiner and the lights went out again and when they came back on, Suicide was gone.

A package was shown to hype Brutus Magnus.

Another package was shown to highlight TNA's trip to the UK.

Lauren spoke to some of the stars from Spike TV's Toughest Cowboy show. Beer Money Inc. and Jackie Moore interrupted the interview, with James Storm talking about riding the guy's mom, leading to a near altercation between the two sides.

Match Six - Handicap Match - LAX (Homicide and Hernandez) vs. Kurt Angle

This was a good match. Kurt Angle worked referee, Earl Hebner, distracting him during tags made by LAX. Eventually Angle was able to send Hernandez to the floor and hit Homicide with the Angle Slam to get the win.

Winner Via Pinfall - Kurt Angle

The show was rounded out with a promo from Samoa Joe, who said he was coming to show the Main Event Mafia the real Samoa Joe. Joe has some new face paint on, much like Umaga uses. Things are getting interesting.
