Rey's ready to Rumble again
By TIM BAINES - Ottawa Sun

It was two years ago, right about this time. Rey Mysterio was tired and perspiring.

At maybe 5-foot-6 and 175 lbs. soaking wet, he was the smallest competitor in the Royal Rumble.

But 62-plus minutes into the match, which he entered as the No. 2 man into the ring, he knocked the only other competitor remaining, Randy Orton, out of the ring and to the floor. What a moment it was for Mysterio!

"When I found out (I was No. 2 into the ring) and saw Triple H was No. 1, I wondered what my chances were. As the match went along, a couple of times, I would lay low in the corner, taking a bit of a rest. There was sweat coming out from underneath my mask.

"When I gave Randy the Frankensteiner to knock him to the floor, I almost didn't have the strength to hang onto the top rope.

"But I was getting energy from the fans that were the there and the viewers at home. Suddenly, I didn't feel exhausted. I fed off that energy."

Mysterio says he also got inner strength from his good friend Eddie Guerrero, who had died a couple of months before the Rumble.

"I dedicated that Rumble to Eddie," said Mysterio. "I had Eddie's design on the side of my red tights. There was some kind of connection between Eddie and myself that night."

And now Mysterio, who also competed in the 2003 and 2005 Rumble, is entered into the event tomorrow, alongside 29 other WWE stars, kicking off the Road to Wrestlemania 25.
