Impact: Foley Claus is coming to town
By CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

Happy Holidays and welcome to the Christmas edition of the Impact recap. On tonight's episode, the feud between the Main Event Mafia and the Frontline continues to heat up, while the X title tournament continues and the Knockouts suit up for a Santa's Workshop Knockout Street Fight!

The show began with a package on the Main Event Mafia and their respective beatdowns on Brother Ray and Samoa Joe.

Mike Tenay and Don West hyped the show and said that Jeff Jarrett would be commenting on the Main Event Mafia later in the show.

Mick Foley entered the Impact Zone and grabbed the mic. He sent out his wishes for a Happy Holiday season, before saying that the Main Event Mafia broke their promise to him. Foley went on to say that the bloodshed would stop tonight, or he would physically get involved to make sure it stopped. The Main Event Mafia came out next, with Kurt Angle saying that there was a huge misunderstanding. He told Foley that he should join the Mafia and write off what happened to Samoa Joe as Joe being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Foley told the Mafia that he was in a difficult situation, because he needs them on the card at Genesis, but he is worried that they will put a hit out on their opponents. Foley went on to make a double main event for Impact, with Scott Steiner and Booker T taking on AJ Styles and Brother Devon, while Kurt Angle was given a match with Rhino. Foley also announced that Rhino would have back-up in his corner, in the form of Jeff Jarrett. Foley then wished the Mafia a Merry Christmas and headed to the backstage area.

Jeremy Borash spoke to Rhino, who talked about his TNA Heavyweight Championship match at Genesis against Sting. Rhino said that that was the reason he came to TNA. He also said that that he was out for revenge against Kurt Angle and was going to finish the war the Main Event Mafia started.

Match One - TNA X Division Championship Semi-Final Match - Kiyoshi vs. Chris Sabin w/ Alex Shelley

This was a good match. Kiyoshi got some offense in on Chris Sabin, but Sabin was able to fight his way back and hit the Cradle Shock to advance to the finals of the TNA X Division Championship tournament.

Winner Via Pinfall - Chris Sabin

After the match, Sheik Abdul Bashir came out and slapped around referee, Shane Sewell. Sewell began to get fired up, but before he could hit Bashir, Suicide swung in. Bashir went after Suicide, but got knocked around and dropkicked to the floor.

Lauren was with "Sarah Palin," The Beautiful People and Cute Kip. Angelina Love was complaining about the fans in the Impact Zone and Cute Kip said that if anyone touched them, he would lay them out. Palin brushed them off and pushed them past the barricades and into the crowd, as the Beautiful People yelled and screamed.

After a commercial break, Mike Tenay and Don West showed a video recap of the history between Kurt Angle and Jeff Jarrett, before pitching it to a sitdown interview they did with Jarrett. Jarrett talked about how he wanted to build TNA around Angle, but Angle thinks he's bigger than TNA. Jarrett said that Angle has lost his wife, his kids and his dignity. He said that Angle needs TNA, just as much as TNA needs him. Jarrett said that he knows going into Genesis that it's going to be a fight, and that it's a fight he has to win.

As Mike Tenay and Don West were going over the interview, Kurt Angle ran out and interrupted them. Angle said that he didn't feel sorry for Jeff Jarrett and that at Genesis, it would be a fight. He said that later on, Sting would be in his corner to keep Rhino occupied, while he took care of Jarrett.

A TNA Rough Cuts segment was shown on Beer Money Inc.

Backstage, Lauren spoke to Matt Morgan and Abyss, about their run-ins with Beer Money Inc. Morgan wouldn't let Abyss answer Lauren's question, and sent her on her way. He told Beer Money Inc. that Genesis would be it for them.

Jeremy Borash caught up with AJ Styles and Brother Devon. Styles said that Samoa Joe received word before their match last week that his wife was in labor and that as a result of the Main Event Mafia's attack, Joe has a fractured arm and will have to hold his newborn child with one arm in a sling. Devon went on to say that the Mafia can't keep Team 3D and promised revenge.

After a commercial break, Jeremy Borash talked to the Motor City Machine Guns, who gloated about Chris Sabin's victory. Alex Shelley went on to talk some smack about Eric Young, as Young walked into the conversation. Young slapped Shelley and the two fought into the Impact Zone. Jay Lethal and Consequences Creed kept Sabin restrained, while Young went after Shelley. Young attempted a DVD on Shelley, but Sabin pulled him to safety, only for the Guns to get hit with a suicide dive by Young, leading to a pull apart brawl.

Backstage, Jeremy Borash hyped TNA news, while Traci Brooks talked about the second annual Santa's Workshop Knockouts Street Fight. ODB was rambling on, while the other Knockouts got ready for the fight.

A package was shown to highlight the Main Event Mafia's greatest hits.

Match Two - Scott Steiner and Booker T w/ Sharmell vs. AJ Styles and Brother Devon

All four men started off the match yelling at each other, leading to a brawl. Scott Steiner and Booker T tried double teaming AJ Styles, which led to Brother Devon rushing the ring and taking Booker T to the floor and out of the Impact Zone. Styles and Steiner proceeded to brawl through the crowd and after a commercial break, it was found out that the referee had thrown out the match and ruled it a no contest.

Winner - No Contest

The brawling was shown on split screen, with AJ Styles and Scott Steiner going through the crowd, and Booker T and Brother Devon fighting outside the Impact Zone. Outside, Kevin Nash and Kurt Angle ambushed Devon and handcuffed him to a railing. Inside, Steiner and Styles continued to battle, with Styles fighting off the attack. Nash, Booker T and Angle all tried to help Steiner in taking out Styles, but he kept fighting them off, until the numbers game caught up with him. The Frontline came out and tried to help, but the Mafia kept on beating. Rhino ran out and was gaining some steam, until Nash hit him in the back with a chair. This brought Mick Foley out, who cleaned house and got Angle with Mr. Socko. Nash pulled Angle to the outside, as Foley grabbed the mic. After a commercial break, Foley says that he thought he was out, but the Mafia dragged him back in. He announced that at Genesis, it will be Scott Steiner, Kevin Nash and Booker T taking on AJ Styles, Brother Devon and Mick Foley. Angle looked on shocked as Mike Tenay and Don West talked about Genesis.

Match Three - Santa's Workshop Knockouts Street Fight - Sojournor Bolt, Riesha Saeed, Rhaka Kahn and Awesome Kong vs. ODB, Christy Hemme, Roxxi and Taylor Wilde

This was a back and forth match, that eventually broke down into a brawl. Rhaka Kahn got caught up in the thick of things and Taylor Wilde reversed her slam attempt into a cradle pin for the victory.

Winners Via Pinfall - ODB, Christy Hemme, Roxxi and Taylor Wilde

Match Four - Kurt Angle w/ Sting vs. Rhino w/ Jeff Jarrett

Rhino had things going his way, until Kurt Angle reversed the Gore, leading into the Ankle Lock. Rhino was able to roll through and send Angle to the floor, where he slapped Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett charged at Angle, but hit the guardrail instead. Angle made his way back into the ring and re-applied the Ankle Lock, only to have Jarrett attack him from behind, causing the disqualification.

Winner Via Disqualification - Kurt Angle

Kurt Angle and Jeff Jarrett brawled as security, agents and BG James came out to break things up. Once they were separated, James told Angle to relax. He turned to tell Jarrett the same thing and when he turned back around, Angle laid him out with a punch, rounding out another episode of Impact.
