Impact: Main Event mauling
By CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

Revenge is on the minds of the Frontline heading into this week's edition of Impact, as AJ Styles and Samoa Joe team up to take on Sting and Kevin Nash in a Six Sides of Steel match. Also on Impact, the X Division title tournament continues and the TNA Knockouts see action, as Christy Hemme and ODB battle Rhaka Kahn and Riesha Saeed.

The show began with a bang and went right to the ring.

Match One - Lance Rock vs. Rhino

Lance Rock got some shots in, but eventually was put away with the Gore.

Winner Via Pinfall - Rhino

After the match, Rhino grabbed the mic and called the Frontline to the ring. They came out and Rhino talked about how he was going to beat Sting at Genesis. They talked about what happened to Brother Ray, and Rhino said that they needed to fight back. AJ Styles and Samoa Joe mentioned that as a result of their actions last week, Scott Steiner and Booker T were placed in a match against Matt Morgan and Abyss. Styles and Joe went on to say that since the Mafia wanted to act like animals, they would do the same later on in the Six Sides of Steel.

Backstage, Jeremy Borash spoke to Kurt Angle, who said he was going to conduct a tribute to Jeff Jarrett's career later on. He also mentioned that he had a special guest planned and ended the promo with a "Bang! Bang!"

Lauren caught up with the Motor City Machine Guns, who said that they would be squaring off against each other in the finals of the X Division title tournament. They also took a couple more shots at Mick Foley and let Lauren know that she could be the meat in a Motor City Machine Guns sandwich. Ha, ha.

Match Two - TNA X Division Championship Quarter-Finals Match - Sonjay Dutt w/ So Cal Val vs. Chris Sabin w/ Alex Shelley

This was a good match. Sheik Abdul Bashir was shown sitting at the top of the ramp. Chris Sabin got the win, after he reversed a hurricanrana attempt by Sonjay Dutt and put him in the Cradle Shock for the pinfall victory.

Winner Via Pinfall - Chris Sabin

Lauren was with the Beautiful People, Cute Kip and "Sarah Palin." Palin was telling them about their makeover and Cute Kip tried to intervene, only to get pushed to the side, causing him to throw a fit.

Back from the commercial break, ODB's Angle came on with guest, Christy Hemme. Hemme talked about the challenges of coming to TNA, when she was attacked by Riesha Saeed, who hit her with a trash can, leading to a pull apart brawl and TNA security coming in to break things up.

Backstage, Jeremy Borash was with the Main Event Mafia, who were hanging out in Mick Foley's locker room. Foley made them promise that there would be no more gang beatings and they agreed, which lead to more champagne.

Next up was a TNA Rough Cuts segment on Beer Money Inc.

Match Three - Scott Steiner and Booker T w/ Sharmell vs. Abyss and Matt Morgan

Abyss and Matt Morgan had things going their way, until Sharmell got involved and was shrugged off by Abyss, leading to her throwing a fit and clutching her leg. While this was going on, Booker T snuck in and hit Matt Morgan with a lead pipe in the leg, followed by an Axe Kick for the win. After the match, Sharmell jumped back up and celebrated.

Winners Via Pinfall - Scott Steiner and Booker T

A package was shown for Brutus Magnus.

Kurt Angle came out with his DVD and hosted his tribute to Jeff Jarrett. He talked about Jarrett's career and said that at Genesis, he would drown in a pool of his own blood. He then showed pictures of Jarrett's three daughters on the TNA tron and said that after Genesis, they would be begging Angle to adopt them. Jarrett came out and was held back by BG James, Terry Taylor, Earl Hebner and Scott D'Amore. Angle jumped out and was going towards Jarrett, but he was held back by TNA security.

Jeremy Borash was shown in Jeff Jarrett's office. Jarrett was throwing a fit to BG James, as Mick Foley walked in. Jarrett stormed out and James told Foley that it was partly his fault.

Match Four - TNA X Division Championship Quater-Finals Match - Kyoshi vs. Consequences Creed

This was a really good match. Kyoshi turned the heat up on Consequences Creed, taking his legs out from under him and hitting a beautiful moonsault to pick up the victory.

Winner Via Pinfall - Kyoshi

Backstage, Cute Kip was arguing with the Beautiful People over what they were doing with "Sarah Palin." He stormed off, as they complained to Palin about their makeover, but Palin convinced them it was a good move.

Mike Tenay and Don West gave an update on the condition of Brother Ray, after showing replays of what happened. They said Ray is out with a concussion, several broken ribs and a busted eardrum.

A sit down interview was shown where Mike Tenay talked with suspended TNA referee Shane Sewell. Sewell talked about his bad neck and how he had to transition to referee. He said that he's asked not to referee Sheik Abdul Bashir's matches, but he can't control it. He went on to say that if Bashir causes him to lose his job in TNA, he won't go peacefully. Tenay wished him the best in his return next week.

Match Five - TNA Knockouts Street Fight - Riesha Saeed and Rhaka Kahn vs. Christy Hemme and ODB

Christy Hemme and ODB charged the ring and went right after Riesha Saeed and Rhaka Kahn, with Hemme picking up the win after hitting the Flying Firecrotch Guillotine.

Winners Via Pinfall - Christy Hemme and ODB

After the match, Awesome Kong hit the ring and beat on Christy Hemme and ODB. The lights went out and Suicide appeared, forcing Kong to roll to the outside. The lights went out again and when they came back on, Suicide was gone and Kong was creeped out.

Jeremy Borash was in the Main Event Mafia's locker room with Sting and Kevin Nash. Borash asked Sting if their campaign for respect was thrown to the side after the attack on Brother Ray. Sting told Borash to ask Nash the question. Nash said that they have respect and that AJ Styles and Team 3D spit in their faces. He told Sting that he needed his help to take on Styles and Samoa Joe. Sting agreed, but looked as though he was struggling with himself over what to do.

Jeremy Borash then spoke to Mick Foley and asked him why he was buddying up with the Main Event Mafia. Foley excused Kurt Angle's comments and said that sometimes he says things he doesn't mean. He said that he didn't agree with what the Mafia did to Brother Ray, but they have given their word that it won't happen again. Foley also said that he was in TNA to make good business decisions and said that he had to go do just that right now, before excusing himself from Borash.

Match Six - Six Sides of Steel Match - AJ Styles and Samoa Joe vs. Sting and Kevin Nash

This was an all out brawl between the Frontline and the Main Event Mafia. Samoa Joe and Kevin Nash fought each other to climb the cage. Joe and AJ Styles showed good teamwork, as Joe launched Styles onto Nash's shoulders, while Nash was standing on the top rope. From there, Styles climbed on Nash, over the top of the cage and to the floor for the win.

Winners Via Escaping the Cage - AJ Styles and Samoa Joe

After the match, Sting and Kevin Nash beat on Samoa Joe. AJ Styles tried to make the save, but Kurt Angle who had a chair, along with Booker T and Scott Steiner came out to prevent that from happening. Joe fought back and was laying out the Main Event Mafia, until he put Angle up for the Muscle Buster and got hit in the back with a chair by Nash. Sting stayed on the floor and laid out members of the Frontline as they tried to make the save. Joe's arm was beaten with the steel chair and the steel pipe, before Angle put Joe in the Ankle Lock. Don West questioned where Mick Foley was, rounding out another episode of Impact.

Chris Sokol is from Long Island, NY and has been getting hit with some snow.
