Impact: Bring out the turkeys
By CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

Happy Thanksgiving! It's that time of the year in TNA where the turkey suit is brought out of the closet and put on the line in the Turkey Bowl match-up, where the winner earns $25,000 and the rights to be Turkey Bowl champion!

The show began with the usual hype and some hype for the 2008 Turkey Bowl tournament. Mike Tenay and Don West did the rundown and pitched it to the ring.

Rhino, AJ Styles and Samoa Joe led their group to the ring. They are now known as The Front Line. Rhino took charge as the leader of the group and pumped them up for war. The Main Event Mafia came out and Kurt Angle offered Rhino a spot with them, which Rhino declined. Rhino said that he would be adding more members to the Front Line on Impact, while Angle told Rhino that he was going to eaisly defeat him at Final Resolution. Rhino fired back and told Angle he would fall to the Gore.

Back from the commercial break, Jeremy Borash spoke to Kurt Angle and informed him that Mick Foley was named the Guest Enforcer for the match between Kurt Angle and Rhino. Angle flipped and went out to find Jeff Jarrett.

Match One - Turkey Bowl Semi-Final Match - Rhino vs. "The Guru" Sonjay Dutt w/ So Cal Val vs. Hernandez

This was a good match, with Hernandez and Rhino showing some power. Sonjay Dutt was able to send Hernandez to the floor, only to be hit with the Gore.

Winner Via Pinfall - Rhino

In Jeff Jarrett's office, Jeremy Borash stood inbetween Kurt Angle and Jeff Jarrett, who were arguing about Mick Foley being added to the match at Final Resolution. Jarrett told Angle that if the Main Event Mafia interefered in the match, he would tear up Angle's contract himself. Angle told Jarrett that he would have someone watching his back and told Jarrett to watch out for Foley.

Back from another commercial break, Lauren was with Rhino, AJ Styles and Samoa Joe. They made their way into Team 3D's locker room. Styles and Joe were against the idea, but Rhino forced them along. Rhino told 3D to join them because it was the right thing. Joe got in their faces and told them they'd be expecting an answer later on Impact. 3D told them that they didn't listen to demands and went on to say that Sting was right about the disrespect.

Match Two - Turkey Bowl Semi-Final Match - Alex Shelley vs. Consequences Creed vs. Cute Kip

Alex Shelley and Cute Kip seemed to work well together for a bit, but eventually it boiled down to an all-out brawl. Cute Kip had things going his way, until Shelley tripped him up. Shelley and Consequences Creed went back and forth, with Shelley rolling him up and hooking the tights for the win.

Winner Via Pinfall - Alex Shelley

Lauren caught up with The Beautiful People, who got a letter. It was supposedly from Gov. Sarah Palin, who said that she couldn't make Final Resolution, but would gladly take The Beautiful People up on their offer to donate $50,000 to her favorite charity. She said that she would be at Impact next week to meet with them. Sharmell walked in and said that the Beautiful People were requested to be seen by Booker T.

Rhino was shown in Jeff Jarrett's office. Jarrett told Rhino he needed to focus on Kurt Angle. Rhino promised that he wouldn't let Jarrett down and he would take care of Angle.

Back in Team 3D's locker room, Lauren stood by as Team 3D ranted about the Front Line. Scott Steiner walked in and told them that the Main Event Mafia had an offer for them that they couldn't refuse. Team 3D decided to go hear it out.

Jeremy Borash was standing by with Traci Brooks and Christy Hemme. Hemme was demanding a match with Awesome Kong, but Brooks was afraid to give it to her. Brooks told Hemme that if she could beat Riesha Saeed, she would get a TNA Knockouts Championship match at Final Resolution, but said that what Kong does to Hemme is not her fault.

Match Three - Turkey Bowl Semi-Final Match - Jimmy Rave vs. Sheik Abdul Bashir vs. Matt Morgan

Matt Morgan was an absolute powerhouse, tossing around Jimmy Rave and Sheik Abdul Bashir. Morgan was going crazy, but missed a kick on Bashir and sent himself over the top rope and to the floor. Bashir then hit the WMDDT on Rave to get the win. After the match, Bashir forced referee Shane Sewell to raise his hand in victory.

Winner Via Pinfall - Sheik Abdul Bashir

In the back, Lauren was with Cute Kip, The Beautiful People, Booker T and Sharmell in Booker T's locker room. Booker tried to enlist the services of the Beautiful People for Sharmell's match against ODB at Final Resolution. They agreed, but said that if Sharmell won, they wanted Booker's locker room. Booker flipped out, but eventually agreed.

Jeremy Borash stood by in the Main Event Mafia locker room, as Team 3D talked to Kurt Angle. Angle put over the Mafia and told Team 3D that they needed to join the winners. Scott Steiner presented them with "husky" tailored suits and said that they would probably fit.

Match Four - Riesha Saeed w/ Awesome Kong and Rhaka Kahn vs. Christy Hemme

Awesome Kong got involved on the outside, by whipping Christy Hemme into a barricade. Riesha Saeed had things under control, but when she attempted a powerbomb, Hemme rolled through and got the pinfall, earning a shot at the TNA Knockouts Championship against Awesome Kong at Final Resolution.

Winner Via Pinfall and NEW Number One Contender to the TNA Knockouts Championship - Christy Hemme

After the match, Awesome Kong beat on Christy Hemme. She and Rhaka Kahn attempted a double clothesline, but Hemme slid out and to the floor.

A sit-down interview was shown of Mike Tenay with AJ Styles. Styles talked about having to leave his home, because of his drunk father being abusive. He said that he had to make sure that his family was taken care of.

Lauren got Sting and Kevin Nash's reaction to the interview. They both said that Styles was just rambling. They said that they had to get ready to induct their newest members to the Main Event Mafia.

Lauren caught up with The Motor City Machine Guns. Alex Shelley cut a great promo and said that he was going to walk out of the Turkey Bowl match victorious.

Match Five - Turkey Bowl Match - Winner Gets $25,000 - Loser Dresses in a Turkey Suit - Rhino vs. Alex Shelley vs. Sheik Abdul Bashir

This was good match. Rhino, Alex Shelley and Sheik Abdul Bashir fought both in the ring and on the floor. Shelley was able to avoid a clothesline from Rhino that caught Bashir, but when he turned around, he got hit with the Gore.

Winner Via Pinfall - Rhino

After the match, Alex Shelley threw a fit, as the referees chased him with the turkey suit. Mick Foley was shown coming out as they went to commercial break. Back from the commercial break, they showed Foley's presentation of the $25,000 cheque to Rhino. Foley demanded that Shelley put the turkey suit on. Shelley pleaded not to wear the suit, but Foley threatened to fire him. Foley gave Shelley a ten count and he put on the suit. Shelley asked Foley if he was happy then flipped him off. Foley threw some punches at Shelley and then laid him out with the Double Arm DDT. He told Shelley that he should be thankful he still has a job.

Back from a commercial break, Rhino, AJ Styles and Samoa Joe came out to represent the Front Line. Styles got on the mic and called out Team 3D, but instead got the Main Event Mafia. The Mafia introduced Team 3D as their newest members, and they came out wearing suits. Brother Ray got on the mic and talked about how the Mafia offered them power and money. He told the Front Line that they had balls and guts, but no brains. He went on to say that balls and guts were good and that if the Front Line was wrong, they don't want to be right. Team 3D turned on the Mafia, leading to a brawl. Styles and Joe grabbed a table, as Team 3D went to put Kurt Angle through it, only for Sting to slide in and make the save. The Front Line stood tall to round out another episode of Impact.

Chris Sokol is from Long Island, NY and went Midnight shopping with his family for Doorbuster Deals. He also wants to congratulate his brother, Bryan, for making the Smithtown West Varsity Bowling team.
