ECW: Dancing to Survivor Series
MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling
Tonight on ECW on Sci-Fi: Just five days away from Survivor Series, some of the main participants square off in a six-man tag team match. Also on tap, the love child of Alex Wright and Disco Inferno makes his debut. Should be a good one!
And we are TAPED! from Atlanta, Ga. Todd Grisham and Matt Striker are our hosts. This show is presented in WWE-HD (TV-PG,V).
And what a way to start the show! Out come The Miz (HOO-RAH!) and John Morrison to a hardy chorus of boos. They are here to break down the Survivor Series match they are in. They talk about each of their partners, handing each of them backhanded compliments along the way. Then they tear down each of their opponents, including "Captain High Pants" Shawn Michaels. In sum: BE JEALOUS!
Match #1 - D.J. Gabriel (Great Britian) vs. ??? (Parts Unknown)
D.J. Gabriel is totally Alex Wright/Disco Inferno 2008. I love it. And of course, it doesn't hurt to have Alicia Fox in your corner. Seek out his entrance. Must see TV.
And this one is a short one, folks. Gabriel hits a European Uppercut from the second rope on Random Jobber #47 for the win.
Winner via pinfall: D.J. Gabriel
"Match" #2 - Jack Swagger's Amatuer Wrestling Challenge - Jack Swagger (Perry, Okla.) vs. Tommy Dreamer (Yonkers, N.Y.)
Swagger rocks the head gear and the mouth guard for this one. We've got a five minute time limit on this one.
Swagger gets a quick 2-point takedown and follows with another quick one. Swagger lets Dreamer up and Tommy gets one point for the "escape."
Within two minutes, Swagger ditches the head gear and mouth piece in arrogance and Dreamer drops him down for two points. That doesn't last long, as this upsets Swagger. Dreamer asks for the referee's position and takes the opportunity to kick Swagger in the gut and DDT him. That's not within the rules!
Winner via disqualification: Tommy Dreamer
Dreamer grabs the mic after and says, "oops, my bad. You win." Hardy har har.
Ricky Ortiz is backstage with Tiffany when Swagger barges in. He's not happy. Ortiz and Swagger trade barbs, ending with Ortiz hilariously mocking Swagger's lisp. ECW General Manager Theodore Long comes in and Swagger wants a rematch next week. But this time, Long says, it'll be in Dreamer's environment -- Extreme Rules, playa!
Match #3 - Mark Henry (Silsbee, Texas), Cody Rhodes (Charlotte, N.C.) & William Regal (Blackpool, England) vs. Kofi Kingston (Jamaica), Finlay (Belfast, Northern Ireland) & Matt Hardy (Cameron, N.C.)
This one is all over the place in the early going.
Henry starts working Finlay's neck area before Finlay gets out but eats a big boot. Henry tags in Regal who puts the boots the Finlay. Regal hits an over the back suplex on Finaly for two (broken up by Hardy). Regal, for some reasons, tags in Rhodes, who eats a clothesline. Finlay finally gets the tag to Kingston, who hits a flying crossbody and some high-flying follow up. (JAMAICAN ME CRAZY!!!). He goes for a cover but gets two. Henry gets a blind tag and Kingston goes to springboard and lands right in the World's Strongest Slam and that's all she wrote.
Winners via pinfall: Mark Henry, William Regal & Cody Rhodes
