Toronto out, Montreal in for WWE PPV?
By TIM BAINES - Ottawa Sun

WWE is finally returning to Canada. But the news isn't all good ... if you live in Calgary, Edmonton or Ottawa.

WWE has a live event in Hamilton on Dec. 13, followed by a Supershow in Toronto on Dec. 22. Then, there's a RAW live event in Winnipeg on Jan 9, followed by RAW live events in Vancouver on Feb. 6 and Victoria on Feb. 7.

That's where the speculation begins. Montreal will get a pay-per-view in the fall, so it's likely Toronto will not get the May 17 Judgment Day pay-per-view. And there are plenty of rumours that suggest Calgary and Edmonton could finally see the WWE stars in the summer. As for Ottawa? Nothing. Hard to believe WWE continues to snub the nation's capital.

NO MORE HONK-A-METER

I have to admit, I had doubts at first. But Santino Marella (Toronto's Anthony Carelli) is now one of my favourite characters. So I wasn't happy when William Regal beat Marella for the intercontinental title on RAW.

AROUND THE RING

What's with Mike Knox's beard? Put a Viking helmet on the guy and he'd pass for John Nord's Berzerker gimmick! Huss, huss ... WWE has released Paul London, Chuck Palumbo, Kenny Dykstra, Elijah Burke and Lena Yada ... Eric Young beat Sheik Abdul Bashir to win the TNA X Division title.

I'VE GOT THE MUSIC

I challenged readers to come up with the name of the theme song to the old Maple Leaf Wrestling. Several readers came up with ZZ Top's Under Pressure and others came up with Dire Straits' Money for Nothing, but I was looking for an earlier version. Many readers came up with the answer I was looking for: Herb Alpert and The Tijuana Brass doing A Banda. Check it out on YouTube.

PALIN BEAUTIFUL?

TNA has offered to fly Sarah Palin and her husband to the Dec. 7 Final Resolution pay-per-view and will give her $50,000 to donate to her favourite charity if she joins The Beautiful People. Serious.
