Following Super Crazy's departure from WWE earlier this week, Paul London and Chuck Palumbo were given their releases today.

The two releases were officially announced this afternoon on WWE.com. In a statement, WWE stated that, "World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of Superstars Paul London and Chuck Palumbo as of Nov. 7, 2008. WWE wishes them the best in all future endeavors."

The released superstars, both of whom had been on the Raw roster, had not appeared on WWE TV in some time. London had most recently appeared in an offshoot angle from the Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho and Lance Cade feud earlier this year. Palumbo, meanwhile, had not appeared on Raw since being moved to the Monday night brand in the WWE Draft.

London was signed by WWE in mid-2003 after making a name for himself in Ring of Honor and NWA-TNA. He would immediately be placed on the Smackdown brand alongside fellow RoH alumn Brian "Spanky" Kendrick. After Kendrick left WWE, however, London began teaming with Billy Kidman. The two would carry the WWE Tag Team Championships for roughly nine months after defeating the Dudley Boyz for the belts. During the reign, however, London broke his nose in a match with Booker T and was put on the sidelines soon after in a storyline split between himself and Kidman. London would return after recuperating and become established as a singles star, eventually winning the Cruiserweight title.

Following Kendrick's return to WWE, the two would be reunited as a team and would capture the WWE Tag Team championships, holding them nearly for a year before dropping the belts to Deuce and Domino. Soon after, the pair would move to the Raw roster in the 2007 WWE Draft. They would appear sporadically on the Monday night show over the next year before Kendrick would go back to Smackdown in the '08 Draft. London would remain on Raw for the rest of his WWE tenure.

Palumbo had re-signed with WWE in 2005 after previously being released in 2004. In between these stints, Palumbo competed overseas, primarily in All Japan Pro Wrestling. Palumbo would spend over a year working dark matches before debuting on Smackdown in 2007 as a biker. Soon, he would be accompanied by Michelle McCool and the two became somewhat popular. Eventually, Palumbo would feud with Jamie Noble, with Palumbo turning heel. Their feud would run until Palumbo's move to Raw in the '08 WWE Draft.
