Impact: Steiner tops Joe going into Turning Point
By CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

Last week, the Main Event Mafia took center stage with the addition of "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner. On this episode of Impact, Steiner goes up against "The Samoan Submission Machine" Samoa Joe. Also on tap, Booker T teams with Beer Money Inc. to take on Christian Cage and The Motor City Machine Guns. Plus the Knockouts do battle in tag action.

Mike Tenay and Don West did their usual welcome and hyped the show.

Highlights were shown from last week's episode.

The Main Event Mafia then made their way into the Impact Zone, as Kurt Angle introduced the new "Hit Man" for the Mafia, "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner. Steiner came out and proceeded to run down the TNA stars in an entertaining rant. This brought out Samoa Joe, Consequences Creed, Eric Young, Jay Lethal and The Motor City Machine Guns. Joe fired back at Steiner and introduced a new addition to their team, Christian Cage. Cage came out and talked about the Main Event Mafia hogging the spotlight. He focused his attention on Booker T and told him that he would defeat him at Turning Point. Booker yelled back at Cage and said that he would be victorious at Turning Point.

Backstage, Jeremy Borash caught up with Mick Foley and AJ Styles who arrived at the Impact Zone together. Styles said that Foley had to tell him something, but he hadn't done it yet. Foley said he would do it in the ring later on.

Mike Tenay and Don West hyped the Number One Contenders Four Way Tag Team Ladder match that would be taking place later on the broadcast.

Match One - Booker T and Beer Money Inc. (James Storm and Robert Roode) w/ Jackie Moore and Sharmell vs. Christian Cage and The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin)

This was a good match. It eventually broke down into an all out brawl, with The Motor City Machine Guns and Beer Money Inc. fighting on the floor. Jackie Moore distracted the referee, while Christian Cage had Booker T beat. Sharmell then slid the TNA Legends Championship belt to Booker as Cage went over to Moore. When Cage turned around, Booker whacked him with the belt and covered him for the pin.

Winners Via Pinfall - Booker T and Beer Money Inc. (James Storm and Robert Roode)

After the match, The Motor City Machine Guns checked on Christian Cage.

In Jeff Jarrett's office, Jeremy Borash warned Jarrett that Kurt Angle was on his way and that he was in a bad mood. Jarrett said that he would decide whether or not he wants to step back into the ring.

Back from the commercial break, Kurt Angle was shown in Jeff Jarrett's office, along with Jarrett, Mick Foley and security. Angle kept asking how long Jarrett would duck him and told Foley that retired or not, he was next on Angle's hit list. Angle asked again if "Uncle Kurt" was going to have to visit Jarrett's kids.

Backstage, Awesome Kong and Riesha Saeed were shown beating up Roxxi.

The Turning Point card was hyped.

In the back, Roxxi was being tended to by the medical staff. Taylor Wilde and ODB were by her side. Roxxi was bleeding and needed to be stretchered out.

Match Two - Four Way Tag Team Number One Contenders Ladder Match - Tanahashi and Volador Jr. vs. Matt Morgan and Abyss vs. Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon) vs. LAX (Homicide and Hernandez)

This was just a brawl. Team 3D had things going their way, following Brother Ray accidentally splashing referee, Rudy Charles. They hit the 3D on Tanahashi and were ready to climb the ladder, when Beer Money Inc. ran in and took them out. Abyss then slid in, climbed the ladder and got the contract.

Winners Via Grabbing the Contract and NEW Number One Contenders to the TNA Tag Team Championships - Matt Morgan and Abyss

After the match, Matt Morgan and Abyss celebrated as Beer Money Inc. watched on.

Mick Foley was shown on his way to the ring.

A Suicide promo aired.

Mick Foley entered the Impact Zone and called out "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles. Foley talked to Styles and put him over, saying how he found out about him more through Raven, claiming that Raven put over Styles as really being "phenomenal." Foley talked about how Styles has to carry TNA foward. Sting came out and interrupted. Sting made some remarks about Styles' father throwing him out of the house when he was 15. He told Styles that the reason things are the way they are is because he opened him mouth. He asked Styles what his son must be thinking watching his father throw a fit on TV. Styles flipped out as Foley held him back. Sting told Styles that the apple must not fall far from the tree.

Lauren spoke to Taylor Wilde, who said that she was going to have to take on Awesome Kong and Riesha Saeed by herself. Rhaka Kahn walked in and told Wilde not to go into battle on her own, saying she needed a weapon of mass destruction to go along with her.

Match Three - Awesome Kong and Riesha Saeed vs. Taylor Wilde and Rhaka Kahn

Awesome Kong and Riesha Saeed took advantage of Taylor Wilde, beating on her throughout the match. Wilde got some shots in and eventually made the tag to Rhaka Kahn, who stared down Kong, before turning on Wilde and chokeslamming her. Kong then hit Wilde with the Implant Buster for the pin.

Winners Via Pinfall - Awesome Kong and Riesha Saeed

After the match, Rhaka Kahn stood tall with Awesome Kong and Riesha Saeed.

An Awesome Kong video package was shown.

Jeremy Borash spoke to Kevin Nash, who said that Samoa Joe wasn't ready for the fight that he was going to bring him at Turning Point.

A pre-taped interview featuring Mike Tenay with Sheik Abdul Bashir was shown. Tenay told Bashir that he actually pushed for him to be in TNA, but said that he doesn't agree with his political views. Bashir went nuts and told Tenay that he has been targeted and told him not to take credit for his success. They began arguing with each other as security stepped in to separate them.

The Turning Point card was hyped again.

Match Four - The Main Event Mafia (Kurt Angle, Kevin Nash and Sting) vs. Eric Young, Consequences Creed and Jay Lethal

This was a good match that saw The Main Event Mafia go after Jay Lethal. Eventually, Lethal and his team fought back, breaking the match down into an all out brawl. Consequences Creed had the momentum, but was caught off guard and hit with the Angle Slam for the win.

Winners Via Pinfall - The Main Event Mafia (Kurt Angle, Kevin Nash and Sting)

Lauren spoke to Rhino who said that if Sheik Abdul Bashir didn't like it hear, he could get out. He said that this country has a love it, or get the hell out policy. Lauren corrected him and said that it's "love it or leave it." Rhino then took the mic and told her to get out of there before he Gored her. Rhino continued his rant and promised to deport Bashir with the Gore.

A package was shown for the Samoa Joe vs. Kevin Nash match at Turning Point.

Match Five - "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner vs. Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe had the match going his way, until Kevin Nash ran out and distracted him. Joe took his focus off the match and ducked a clothesline by Scott Steiner, to give Kevin Nash a diving elbow on the outside. While Joe was on the outside and referee, Earl Hebner was distracted, Steiner pulled out some brass knucks. When Joe got back in the ring, Steiner hit him with the knucks and covered him for the pin.

Winner Via Pinfall - "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner

After the match, Kevin Nash and Scott Steiner celebrated and continued their beating on Samoa Joe. AJ Styles ran out with a steel chair and chased them out of the ring, as Kurt Angle, Booker T, Sting and Sharmell joined them on the ramp to celebrate.

A Turning Point hype package was shown to round out another episode of Impact.

Chris Sokol is from Long Island, NY and will be joining his brother, Bryan, for coverage of TNA Turning Point.
