Impact: Steiner joins the mafia
By CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

TNA made its HD debut last week from Las Vegas in grand style. This week, TNA returns home to the Impact Zone with a blockbuster main event, pitting Kurt Angle vs. Abyss. Also on tap, AJ Styles teams with Samoa Joe to take on Kevin Nash and Booker T, while the Knockouts do battle in tag action.

Mike Tenay and Don West did their usual welcome to kick off the show.

AJ Styles and Samoa Joe made their way into the Impact Zone. Styles grabbed the mic and said that he is happy that Mick Foley is in TNA, but says that they will be fighting the war against the Main Event Mafia without him. He talked about how he and Samoa Joe got bloodied up last week and nobody came out to help them. He called out to the back and asked for TNA stars who had the balls to come out and join he and Joe in the center of the ring and make a stand. Jay Lethal made his way out, followed by Petey Williams, Eric Young, Consequences Creed and ODB. Joe thanked them for coming out, but before he could continue talking, The Motor City Machine Guns made their way out. Alex Shelley said that the rest of them came out to be brainwashed by Joe, but he and Chris Sabin weren't biting. Joe told him that this was a war and that they are either in or out. Shelley told Joe that he has done nothing for him, which led Joe to slap Shelley. The Main Event Mafia interrupted, with Kurt Angle saying that Styles, Joe and the rest of them in the ring were a disgrace to themselves. Kevin Nash also got his shots in on Samoa Joe, while Booker T guaranteed domination by the Main Event Mafia.

Jeremy Borash spoke to Jeff Jarrett backstage, who said that AJ Styles and Samoa Joe would be fighting the war by themselves. Mick Foley came in, while Jarrett excused himself to "take a Kurt." Foley said that he had something to say later in the night directed towards Sting. He talked about Sting being a big investment and says he needs to keep him in line.

Lauren caught up with Cute Kip and The Beautiful People, who made fun of her, along with Christy Hemme and ODB, calling them ugly and saying that they are jealous of The Beautiful People, because they were born beautiful.

Match One - Christy Hemme and ODB vs. The Beautiful People (Angelina Love and Velvet Sky) w/ Cute Kip

This was a good match. ODB and Christy Hemme were able to gel as a tag team and pick up the win, after ODB hit Velvet Sky with a rock bottom.

Winners Via Pinfall - Christy Hemme and ODB

Lauren was shown walking with The Motor City Machine Guns who went after Samoa Joe. They said that they needed to start over so they could move forward. Joe said that he had problems with trusting them and said that when shots are fired, he would see if the Guns were firing back.

Jeremy Borash talked to Eric Young who said that he has been in TNA for five years now and what he saw last week being done by Kurt Angle to his friends hurt him. He said that he was going to go out for his match with James Storm and show a new side of himself.

Match Two - James Storm w/ Robert Roode and Jackie Moore vs. Eric Young

Eric Young charged right at James Storm and got the match jump-started. Towards the end, Jackie Moore distracted the referee, as Robert Roode went to spit beer at Eric Young, only to hit Storm, allowing Young to roll him up for the pin.

Winner Via Pinfall - Eric Young

After the match, Beer Money Inc. beat on Eric Young, as The Motor City Machine Guns ran out and made the save. They cleaned house and then helped Young to his feet.

Lauren followed Roxxi and Taylor Wilde in the back as they were in search of Awesome Kong.

A Suicide promo aired.

Mike Tenay and Don West discussed the move to HD broadcasting.

Jeremy Borash was with Awesome Kong and Riesha Saeed, who immediately got jumped by Roxxi and Taylor Wilde. They brawled, with Wilde and Roxxi laying out Kong and Saeed.

Sheik Abdul Bashir joined Mike Tenay and Don West for commentary.

Match Three - Tanahashi and Volador vs. The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin)

This was a great back and forth tag team match, with both teams working well together. The Motor City Machine Guns were able to use their double teaming tactics to full advantage and pick up the win in this encounter.

Winners Via Pinfall - The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin)

Sheik Abdul Bashir jumped in the ring and berated Tanahashi and Volador for their loss, only for Rhino to sneak in from behind and hit him with the Gore.

Lauren spoke to Christian Cage who said that he accepted the Legends Championship match at Turning Point with Booker T, because Booker didn't earn that title. Cage said that he isn't going to pick a side and even he was, it wouldn't be the Main Event Mafia. Cage said that at Turning Point, he would walk out victorious and remain on his own side.

Match Four - AJ Styles and Samoa Joe vs. Kevin Nash and Booker T

This was another good back and forth tag team match. The Main Event Mafia appeared to have things going their way, as Kevin Nash called for Booker T to hold AJ Styles up. Samoa Joe then snuck in from behind and locked in the rear naked choke on Nash. Booker broke it up and threw Joe to the floor, as Styles ran up and hit Booker with the Pele Kick for the win.

Winners Via Pinfall - AJ Styles and Samoa Joe

After the match, some of the TNA stars came out to celebrate with AJ Styles and Samoa Joe.

Lauren talked with Abyss and Matt Morgan. Abyss said that he was doing better, while Matt Morgan didn't agree. Morgan said that he wasn't prepared for his match with Kurt Angle and it cost him. Abyss said that he remembered what Angle did to him and he was going to take care of him later on.

Mike Tenay and Don West recapped what happened so far on Impact.

A TNA Cross the Line promo was shown.

A recap was shown of Mick Foley's address at the end of the last episode of Impact.

Jeremy Borash caught up with Sting who said that nobody has told him that Mick Foley was really the boss and said that he was going into their meeting with an open mind and hoped that Foley wouldn't close it on him.

Mick Foley entered the Impact Zone and talked about the new remodeling that was done. Foley talks about voting and TNA in HD. He announced two big main events for Turning Point which include, Kevin Nash vs. Samoa Joe and Sting defending the TNA Heavyweight Championship against AJ Styles. On that note, Foley called Sting out. Sting came out listened to Foley talk about how great TNA is and how Sting should be the glue holding it together, but instead he is acting like a wedge. Sting fired back by saying that AJ Styles and Samoa Joe don't respect him and soon they will get in Foley's face as well. Sting says that they have to do what they have to do in TNA and that this is his war, not Foley's.

Jeremy Borash spoke with Kurt Angle, who said that Jeff Jarrett was hiding behind Abyss. Angle said that he would do what he had to do to get his hands on Jarrett.

Match Five - Kurt Angle vs. Abyss

This was a great main event, with both competitors going at it. Kurt Angle nearly had Abyss beat with the Angle Slam, but Abyss was able to kick out. Abyss came back and hit Angle with a powerbomb for a near fall. As Abyss argued with the referee, Angle grabbed a steel chair and whacked him, causing a disqualification.

Winner Via Disqualification - Abyss

After the match, Kurt Angle pulled his straps down and locked in the Ankle Lock. Abyss escaped and Angle went right to the burns on Abyss' back and locked in the Ankle Lock again. Matt Morgan ran out, followed by Booker T and Kevin Nash. Nash had a chair and laid out Morgan with it. Nash then hit Abyss with the chair, as AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Consequences Creed, Jay Lethal, Eric Young and Petey Williams ran out to make the save. Scott Steiner came out next with a steel pipe in hand and laid out Styles' army, joining the Main Event Mafia. Sting came out and picked up Styles, who spit in his face, only to get dropped with the Scorpion Deathdrop. The Main Event Mafia stood tall to round out another episode of Impact.

Chris Sokol is from Long Island, NY and wants to extend his wishes for a happy and safe Halloween.
