ECW: Will DX be jealous?
MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling
Tonight on ECW on Sci-Fi: Matt Hardy retained his ECW Championship in a riveting match with Evan Bourne at Cyber Sunday. Tonight, he's in a big 6-man tag team match. Also, The Dirt Sheet is back and takes a look at DX. Should be a good one!
Theodore Long starts the show as Ron Burgundy as part of Sci-Fi's 31 Days of Halloween. Tonight, it's a brand-new edition of The Dirt Sheet, as John Morrison and The Miz examine DX and in big 6-man tag team action, Matt Hardy, Evan Bourne and Finlay will battle Mark Henry, Chavo Guerrero and Bam Neely. Stay classy, San Diego.
And we are LIVE! from San Diego, Calif. Todd Grisham and Matt Striker are our hosts. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG,V).
Match #1 - Evan Bourne (St. Louis, MO), Matt Hardy (Cameron, N.C.) & Finlay (Belfast, Northern Ireland) vs. Chavo Guerrero (El Paso, Texas), Bam Neely (Robbinsdale, Minn.) & Mark Henry (Silsbee, Texas)
FINALLY, Bam Neely has come back to ECW! And for those of you keeping score at home, Tony Atlas is still wearing a sleeveless shirt with tie and suit jacket.
After a quick start, the heel side takes advantage with Neely working a vicious half-crab on Bourne, as they work on the left leg of Bourne. Finally, he gets to Hardy, who comes in against Guerrero. He hits a bulldog, an elbow to the head and the Side Effect. Neely comes in to break up the pin, but Hardy moves and Neely plants an elbow on Chavo.
Hardy hits the Twist of Fate on Neely, but eats a World's Strongest Slam. Hornswaggle runs in and and bites Henry on the leg, distracting the ref long enough for Finlay to lay out Henry with the Shillelagh. Atlas pulls Finlay out of the ring and Hornswaggle dives over the bottom rope onto Atlas.
Guerrero, recovered from the elbow, sees Hardy down and runs to the top rope, where he is met by Hardy. Chavo hits Hardy with a palm strike and hits the Frog Splash for the win.
Winners via pinfall: Chavo Guerrero, Bam Neely & Mark Henry
Lena Yada is backstage with Tommy Dreamer, who says tonight is the 19th anniversary of his first wrestling match. He says Jack Swagger says he is bastardizing his legacy. He says his legacy is not about wins and losses.
Match #2 - Tommy Dreamer (Yonkers, N.Y.) vs. Jack Swagger (Perry, Okla.)
Ah, yes. Another up-and-comer getting over against Tommy Dreamer.
The wiley veteran gets the better of things early on, sending Swagger into the announce table with a baseball slide.
When Dreamer tries to get back into the ring, Swagger hits Dreamer with a knee lift, sending him crashing to the mat.
We're back and Swagger is working a Level 2 Randy Orton Chinlock on Dreamer. But Dreamer quickly gets out but eats a belly-to-belly suplex. Swagger drives him into the corner. Swagger goes for a Vader Bomb but misses. Dreamer hits some punches and a swinging neckbreaker and his pin goes for two. He gets up and hits a bulldog.
Dreamer goes for the DDT, but Swagger turns it into a Northern Lights Suplex for two. But Swagger is finally able to put Dreamer away with the Gut Wrench Power Bomb.
Winner via pinfall: Jack Swagger
Now it's the time we've all been waiting for -- The Dirt Sheet, as they call out DX, who they will face this Monday on the 800th edition of RAW.
Tonight, The Dirt Sheet will break from tradition and take an objective look at DX.
They want to know what we really know about DX -- and have made a psuedo-political message. It's funny. They approve this message.
They then bring out their guests at this time, "DX", which is essentially two guys acting like then (and doing it well, I might add).
After some banter, Miz and Morrison hit their finishers on the duo -- and Monday night on RAW, they'll have two words for DX: Be Jealous!
