Impact: Foley the enforcer
By CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

With Bound for Glory approaching, big things appear to be on the horizon for TNA. On this episode of Impact, Mick Foley makes his Impact Zone debut. AJ Styles teams with Christian Cage and Jay Lethal to take on Booker T and Team 3D, while The Motor City Machine Guns and LAX do battle for a spot in the Monster's Ball.

The show began with a recap of the last episode of Impact.

Mike Tenay and Don West then did their usual welcome.

Match One - Angelina Love w/ Velvet Sky and Cute Kip vs. ODB

This was pretty much a gang attack, as The Beautiful People and Cute Kip worked over ODB and cheated their way to a victory, as Velvet Sky took ODB's flask and spit the alcohol in her face, leading to Angelina Love hitting the Flatliner for the win.

Winner Via Pinfall - Angelina Love

Jeremy Borash spoke to Jeff Jarrett, who said he was heading to the ring to address the comments that Kurt Angle made in his interview with the UK Sun.

ODB was shown in the back, complaining to Traci Brooks about what happened in her match. Brooks said that if she could find a partner by later in the show, she could have a tag match against the Beautiful People. Brooks also stated that her partner couldn't be Awesome Kong, Roxxi Laveaux or Taylor Wilde.

A Jeff Jarrett package was shown.

Jeff Jarrett then made his way into the Impact Zone. He talked about how TNA is strong and doing well. He goes on to talk about how Kurt Angle made comments in the UK Sun that he was thinking about going back to Vince McMahon when his contract in TNA expired. He mentioned that Angle said they had a father/son bond that couldn't be broken by a guy like Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett then mentioned that he had an interview taped with Angle from two years ago that he didn't air, because he wanted to protect Angle and TNA. Jarrett then points to the TNAtron and airs the interview, which saw Angle calling McMahon a "piece of crap" and saying how McMahon would be kissing his ass two years from then. Jarrett then said that he broke the bond and at Bound for Glory, he was going to beat him so bad that even McMahon wouldn't want him back.

Jeremy Borash then caught up with Kurt Angle who was livid about what Jeff Jarrett did. Borash told Angle that Jim Cornette wanted to see him.

Match Two - Monster's Ball Qualifying Match - The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) vs. LAX (Homicide and Hernandez)

This was a good back and forth match. The Motor City Machine Guns tried to use their speed on LAX, but they were countered. Chris Sabin went for a springboard on Hernandez, but was caught and hit with a Sit Out Mex Bomb for the win.

Winners Via Pinfall and Advancing to the Monster's Ball - LAX (Homicide and Hernandez)

After the match, Alex Shelley acted like everything was all cool, but flipped off LAX when they turned their backs.

A Rough Cuts segment on Roxxi Laveaux was shown next.

Jeremy Borash was shown in Jim Cornette's office with Kurt Angle. Cornette told Angle that his comments are going to cost him a $25,000 fine. Angle says that he will stick it up Jeff Jarrett's ass.

A package was then shown for Suicide.

Match Three - TNA X Division Championship Triple Threat Match - Sheik Abdul Bashir (C) vs. Jimmy Rave w/ Lance Rock and Christy Hemme vs. Eric Young

Sheik Abdul Bashir had things well in control, winning the match after Eric Young missed a Moonsault and he connected with the WMD. Bashir demanded that referee, Scott Sewell make the count and he did.

Winner Via Pinfall and STILL TNA X Division Champion - Sheik Abdul Bashir

After the match, Sheik Abdul Bashir demanded that Scott Sewell raise his hand. Sewell did and flinched as Bashir made like he was going to hit him.

Jeremy Borash spoke to Christian Cage, AJ Styles and Jay Lethal. Lethal thanked Cage and Styles for letting him roll with the big dogs. Lethal said that he took Booker to the limit and that he was going to beat him. Styles asked if he and Cage were cool, to which Cage responded that he is the champ and he is always cool.

Match Four - Six Man Tag Team Match - Booker T and Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon) w/ Sharmell vs. Christian Cage, AJ Styles and Jay Lethal

This was a really good match, which eventually broke down into an all out brawl. Booker T hit Jay Lethal with his briefcase. Brother Ray distracted the referee, leading to a miscommunication, where Styles came in with a springboard forearm intended for Ray, that accidentally hit Cage. Booker T took full advantage of the mistake and covered Cage for the pin.

Winners Via Pinfall - Booker T and Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon)

After the match, AJ Styles helped up Christian Cage and went for a hug, but Cage refused.

Jeremy Borash was shown with Kurt Angle, who was trying to break into Jeff Jarrett's office to beat him up.

They showed footage of an interview that Mike Tenay conducted earlier in the day with Samoa Joe and Sting. They went through the whole respect thing again and both talked about how they were going to win at Bound for Glory. Joe said at the end of the interview that the only reason he wasn't going to choke Sting out right then and there was because maybe he has some respect. They both went on to say that they were going to walk the aisle at Bound for Glory, while Joe said they were going to roll Sting out.

Lauren spoke to Matt Morgan and Abyss. Morgan told Abyss again that if he did well at Bound for Glory and he competed in the Monster's Ball, he would be just fine.

Beer Money Inc. and Jackie Moore made their way into the Impact Zone and talked about how they got rid of Salinas and forced Hector Guerrero back to the commentating table. They then put out an open challenge, which was quickly answered by Team 3D. As Team 3D went to talk, they were interrupted by Abyss and Matt Morgan, who also went to speak, only to be interrupted by LAX. LAX told Team 3D and Abyss and Morgan that there beef was with Beer Money Inc. Jim Cornette then came out and told Beer Money Inc. that they would be defending their TNA Tag Team Championships against Team 3D, LAX and Abyss and Matt Morgan in a Four Way Monster's Ball match at Bound for Glory. Cornette also bet that they would lose the belts.

A TNA Knockouts package was shown.

The Beautiful People and Cute Kip then entered the Impact Zone. ODB came out and told them that she found a partner and to turn around. Rhaka Kahn came out and the tag team match ensued.

Match Five - The Beautiful People (Angelina Love and Velvet Sky) w/ Cute Kip vs. ODB and Rhaka Kahn

This match was pretty rough in the sense that Rhaka Kahn couldn't keep up with The Beautiful People or ODB. She seemed lost in there. Kahn picked up the pinfall with a sit out leg drop on Velvet Sky. Kahn needs to go back to managing.

Winners Via Pinfall - ODB and Rhaka Kahn

After the match, Cute Kip distracted ODB and Rhaka Kahn, as The Beautiful People attacked from behind. Rhino then came out and cleaned house.

Mick Foley then entered the Impact Zone and began his "Thank Yous." Foley talked about how he was happy to be in TNA and how Vince McMahon made his decision to go there so easy. Foley was also very grateful that Jeff Jarrett gave him the opportunity to be there and said that it was honor to be called the greatest acquisition in TNA history. Kurt Angle then made his way out and talked about how mad he was at Jarrett. Angle said that Jarrett said he lost everything. Angle fired back at Jarrett, saying that he wasn't the only guy in TNA to lose his wife. That was a bit much. Angle said that he carried TNA. Foley fired off at Angle and said not to diminish the accomplishments of guys like Samoa Joe and AJ Styles. Foley says that Angle truly is the greatest acquisition in TNA history. Foley then went on to say that recently he's been able to sit ringside and call some amazing matches. He then said he wanted to be close to the ring again at Bound for Glory. Angle asked Foley if he wanted to take Don West's place and commentate. They joked about West being overbearing and replaceable, but Foley said he didn't want to commentate. Angle then asked if Foley wanted to be in his corner, but Foley again declined. Foley said that the powers that be have made him the Special Guest Enforcer in his match against Jeff Jarrett at Bound for Glory. Angle was shocked as Foley told him it was damn true. Angle went nuts, rounding out another episode of Impact.

Chris Sokol is from Long Island, NY and is enjoying the MLB postseason.
