Impact: The King returns to his Mountain
By CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

TNA's No Surrender PPV offering is just around the corner, but before we can get there, we still need to make a stop at the Impact Zone for another episode of TNA Impact! On tap, Samoa Joe takes the Kevin Nash challenge, the Beautiful People hold a pageant and Sting calls out Jeff Jarrett.

Highlights were shown from the last episode of Impact.

Jeremy Borash caught up with Sting, who said that he had Jeff Jarrett on his mind.

Mike Tenay and Don West then did their usual welcome and hyped the show.

Samoa Joe entered the Impact Zone and said that he wasn't leaving unless he got Sting's head on a platter. Kevin Nash walked out and told Joe that he really needs to worry about defending his TNA Heavyweight Championship. Joe told Nash that after he was done with Sting, Nash was next. Nash told Joe to calm down and said he understood Joe's anger, but he really needed to be focused, so Nash has arranged three matches for Joe on Impact to get him prepared for No Surrender. Joe told Nash that he accepted the challenge and when he was done with that, he was going after Sting.

Lauren spoke to The Beautiful People, who said that they were going to take the TNA Knockouts Championship from Taylor Wilde at No Surrender, but they were also going to make an example out of her in the pageant.

Match One - Abyss vs. Christian Cage

Christian Cage answered the Abyss Open Challenge. This was a good back and forth match, with Cage hitting the Unprettier on Abyss, only for Kurt Angle to run in and cause the disqualification by attacking him.

Winner Via DQ - Christian Cage

Booker T ran out and joined in on a beatdown of Christian Cage. Kurt Angle and Booker gave Abyss a chair and held Cage. Abyss dropped the chair and went after Angle and Booker, but they got the better of him, until Matt Morgan ran out and made the save. Morgan challenged them to a tag team match for later on Impact, to which they accepted.

Jeremy Borash came out and announced the Beautiful People pageant. The first portion of the pageant was an Evening Gown contest. Borash introduced the judges -- Curry Man, Shark Boy and Super Eric. He then introduced Angelina Love, Velvet Sky and Cute Kip, followed by Taylor Wilde. Love and Wilde strutted their stuff and the judges voted. Curry Man went with Angelina Love, while Shark Boy and Super Eric voted for Taylor Wilde, putting her up 1-0 in the pageant.

A video package was shown for "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles.

Lauren spoke to Sonjay Dutt, who said that he didn't care about ruining Jay Lethal's life, because he truly loves So Cal Val and he is going to win her love at No Surrender by any means necessary.

Next up was Karen's Angle with her guest, Sting. Sting talked about how AJ Styles showed Kurt Angle a lack of respect and how respect needs to come back in TNA. He also mentioned Jeff Jarrett and said he couldn't wait to see where Jarrett stands.

Mike Tenay and Don West hyped No Surrender.

AJ Styles made his way into the Impact Zone and called out Frank Trigg. After a commercial break, Trigg came out and the two began a war of words. Trigg proposed that the two stars fight one another in three five-minute rounds, submission only at No Surrender. Styles agree and Trigg mocked him as they shook hands. Styles slapped Trigg, leading to a pull-apart brawl.

Lauren spoke to Christian Cage, who said that he wrestled his first match one hour away from where No Surrender is taking place. He talked about how at No Surrender, he will become the new TNA Heavyweight Champion.

Jeremy Borash came back out and announced the bikini contest portion of the Beautiful People pageant. Angelina Love and Taylor Wilde once again modeled for the Prince Justice Brotherhood. On this occasion, Curry Man and Shark Boy both voted for Angelina Love, with Super Eric voting again for Taylor Wilde, causing the pageant to reach a 1-1 tie.

A package was then shown to hype the Awesome Kong vs. ODB match at No Surrender.

Match Two - Bimbo Brawl - Awesome Kong w/ Riesha Saeed vs. Roxxi Laveaux

Roxxi Laveaux put up a great fight and went right after Awesome Kong. Laveaux thought she had the match won after Kong missed the Amazing Press, leading to her arguing with the referee and allowing Kong to grab a chair and level her with it, busting her open, before hitting a Kong Bomb on her for the win.

Winner Via Pinfall - Awesome Kong

After the match, Awesome Kong and Riesha Saeed continued the attack on Roxxi Laveaux, until ODB ran out and made the save. Kong used the referee as a shield against ODB. Mark "Slick" Johnson tried talking to ODB, but got laid out by a chair shot.

The Beautiful People pageant continued with the third and final contest, a talent competition. Angelina Love did an oral presentation, reciting a poem about Taylor Wilde being a skank, then singing "Row, Row, Row Your Boat." Taylor Wilde then said she plays seven instruments and proceeded to play the drums while Curry Man danced. Curry Man still voted for Angelina Love, however Shark Boy and Super Eric voted for Taylor Wilde, giving her the win at 2-1. Wilde was then presented with a tiara, sash and roses as The Beautiful People threw a fit. Wilde then slapped Cute Kip and The Beautiful People beat her down. Cute Kip held of the Prince Justice Brotherhood, until Rhino ran out and made the save to clean house; however Love had stolen the sash.

A package was shown to hype the Four Ways to Glory TNA Heavyweight Championship match at No Surrender.

Match Six - Kurt Angle and Booker T w/ Sharmell vs. Abyss and Matt Morgan

This was a good main event, that eventually broke down into an all-out brawl, with Matt Morgan kicking Kurt Angle to the floor with a Bicycle Kick, while Abyss hit Booker T with a Black Hole Slam. While the referee was distracted by Morgan, Team 3D ran out and leveled Abyss with a chair shot, allowing Angle to gather his bearings, slide back into the ring and get the cover for the pin.

Winners Via Pinfall - Kurt Angle and Booker T

Team 3D celebrated, as Matt Morgan and Abyss regrouped in the ring.

Sting then entered the Impact Zone and called out Jeff Jarrett. He said that he had no problem with Jarrett and that it was Samoa Joe who was disrespectful. Joe was shown in the rafters. He told Sting that he wasn't disrespectful and challenged him to come to No Surrender, because he wouldn't be coming alone. Jeff Jarrett's music then hit, as Jarrett was shown standing on top of the entrance way, with a guitar in hand, rounding out another episode of Impact.

Chris Sokol is from Long Island, NY and would like to send out his well wishes and prayers to those who were affected by the 9/11 tragedy.
