ECW: Settling scores before Unforgiven
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on ECW on Sci-Fi: It's the go-home show for Unforgiven and there's still some scores to settle between the participants in the Championship Scramble. Should be a good one!

And we are TAPED! from Pittsburgh, Pa. Todd Grisham and Matt Striker are our hosts. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG,V).

We immediately go to the latest edition of The Dirt Sheet, featuring John Morrison and The Miz. They are here to bring out the participants in the Championship Scramble. First out is ECW Champion Mark Henry, flanked by Tony Atlas in a sleeveless dress shirt with a tie. This is honestly hilarious.

Then they welcome out Chavo Guerrero to, being nice, a remixed version of his theme, complete with fart noises. They then page "Kerwin" in the production truck to see them after the show.

They say Finlay will not be here tonight because he couldn't find a babysitter for Hornswaggle. They then introduce Finlay's "brothers" via satellite from Belfast, Northern Ireland, which is Morrison and Miz in front of a bar in dress up running down Finlay. It was awesome.

Finlay's music cues up and he and Hornswaggle come out, not appearing angry at all, which is surprising. Finlay tells Hornswaggle to say hello to his uncles and he runs across the ring and kick Miz in the shin.

Matt Hardy is next to come out. Hardy then makes some suggestive Cena-style innuendos about Henry and Atlas and Guerrero and Neely. Eventually, things break down when Morrison attacks Hardy. Then Evan Bourne and Tommy Dreamer come out of nowhere and help chase the heels.

We're back and all of them are going at it in the back when ECW General Manager Theodore Long decides to book an 8-man tag team match for tonight. I didn't see that one coming.

Match #1 - Super Crazy (Mexico) vs. Gavin Spears (Niagara Falls, Ontario)

Pretty pedestrian match here, with Spears controlling the early portion of the match until Crazy fired up out of nowhere and hits a moonsault for the win.

Winner via pinfall: Super Crazy

Match #2 - Ricky Ortiz (Paradise Valley, Ariz.) vs. Ryan Braddock (Chicago, Ill.)

Braddock hits the first big move of the match by going to the second rope and putting his knee on the back of Ortiz's head and driving it into the canvas. Braddock locks in a chinlock/sleeper combo that has Ortiz struggling on the mat. Ortiz is able to get up and throw Braddock to the mat. He follows that up with a reverse elbow.

Ortiz continues to pour it on, hitting a shoulder block from the second rope and caps off the rally with The Big O for the win.

Winner via pinfall: Ricky Ortiz

Match #3 - Matt Hardy (Cameron, N.C.), Evan Bourne (St. Louis, MO), Tommy Dreamer (Yonkers, N.Y.) & Finlay (Belfast, Northern Ireland) vs. Chavo Guerrero (El Paso, Texas), The Miz (Cleveland, Ohio), John Morrison (Los Angeles, Calif.) & Mark Henry (Silsbee, Texas)

The only neat spot early on is Finlay pulling the ring apron on Guerrero and as Neely comes to check on Chavo, Hornswaggle hops on the apron and Finlay runs him across and onto Neely.

We're back and Finlay is going to work on Chavo. He quickly tags in Bourne, who hits a dropkick from the top right off the bat. He hits a big standing moonsault on Miz, but when he goes to the top, Miz brings him down and tags in Henry. This does not look good for Bourne, who immediately gets thrown into the air and dropped on his face.

After being worked over for the good part of several minutes by every member of the opposing team, Bourne is finally able to reverse Guerrero and tag in Dreamer. He comes in and hits a backbody drop and a bulldog on Chavo for two.

Dreamer charges at Guerrero in the corner, but runs right into a boot. Guerrero tags in Henry and he has no mercy for Dreamer, hitting him, headbutting him and just generally being mean to him.

Guerrero is tagged back in and works a chinlock. Dreamer is able to find Hardy for the tag and he comes hits the flying elbow on Chavo for two and follows that up with the Side Effect for another close two count. Guerrero tags in Henry who comes in and misses the World's Strongest Splash. Hardy tags in Bourne, who hits the Shooting Star Press on Henry and takes out Miz. He tags in Dreamer, who hits a Frog Splash and takes out Morrison. He tags in Finlay, who hits the atomic butt drop and takes out Guerrero. Finally, he tags in Hardy who hits the Twist of Fate for the fall.

Winners via pinfall: Matt Hardy, Evan Bourne, Tommy Dreamer & Finlay
