It's official - Gail Kim gone from TNA

The heavily rumoured and reported departure by Gail Kim from Total Non-stop Action Wrestling was finally confirmed this week, as both Kim and TNA have confirmed that the two have gone their separate ways.

During Thursday night's TNA Impact broadcast, in the opening match that featured Awesome Kong, Kim's last opponent in TNA, lead broadcaster Mike Tenay confirmed that Kim and TNA had, "parted ways," following the streetfight last week between the Canadian and Kong.

Earlier in the week, a message was posted on Kim's web site, www.thegailkim.com, stating that, "Gail Kim has left TNAWrestling after her contract ran out and she didn't sign a new deal. All of her information has been removed from TNAWrestling.com website. No official word on Gail's future in wrestling is available at this time, but TheGailKim.com will keep an eye on the situation."

Kim joined TNA in 2005 following her departure from WWE. The Toronto native aligned herself with Jeff Jarrett and America's Most Wanted (James Storm and Chris Harris). Though initially a valet, Kim would later return to the ring and become one of the featured competitors in the Knockouts division, which had been dormant for quite some time.

After wrestling in several bouts, Kim and her fellow female competitors were finally given a belt to compete for. Kim would become the first Knockout Champion after winning a 10-woman Gauntlet Match at Bound for Glory. She would instantly begin feuding with several of the female superstars, including ODB and Awesome Kong, whom she would eventually lose the belt to.

Kim's feud with Kong would continue through much of her TNA run, along with battles against the Beautiful People (Velvet Sky and Angelina Love), but she was unable to regain her title.

Prior to joining TNA, Kim was a featured performer in the Women's Division in WWE, winning the Women's Title in her first bout in the Fed in a battle royal.

Kim was trained by Ontario's Ron Hutchinson and Rob Etchevarria. She originally wore a mask in the ring, under the persona of La Felina.
