Braden Walker officially released by WWE
By SLAM! Wrestling

"Wildcat" Chris Harris

Amidst a series of rumours about roster cuts today, WWE confirmed one release - Braden Walker.

In a statement on the company website, the Fed stated that, "World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of ECW Superstar Braden Walker as of August 7, 2008. WWE wishes Braden the best in all future endeavors."

The release of Walker comes just days after U.S. audiences saw Walker defeat James Curtis on ECW on SciFi. Canadians will get their last look at Walker tonight during Global's broadcast.

Walker first appeared in ECW on June 8, 2008 amidst an influx of new talent after previously working dark matches for the company and training in Florida. This and his match this week on WWE TV were his only two televised matches for the Fed.

Walker's better known as Chris Harris (his real name), a moniker he used during his TNA career, which included runs atop the Tag Team division with James Storm. Together, the duo were known as America's Most Wanted and were arguably the most dominant and popular tag team in the company's short history. Harris was released from TNA in January 2008.

Prior to joining TNA, Walker had a brief stint in WCW after being hired in 2000, making appearances on WCW Saturday Night and other programs. He was also a fake version of Sting, playing the part at Halloween Havoc 2000.
