TNA confirms September PPV for Oshawa
By SLAM! Wrestling
As originally reported in our news and rumours section back in June, TNA has announced that the No Surrender pay-per-view will be its first outside of the United States, and will originate from the new GM Centre in Oshawa, Ontario.
The PPV is scheduled for Sunday, September 14, starting at 8 p.m. ET.
The GM Centre is the home of the Ontario Hockey League's Oshawa Generals. TNA ran a successful house show there back in December 2007.
“We’re thrilled to be taking No Surrender 2008 to Canada,” said TNA Wrestling president Dixie Carter in a press release. “When TNA visited Oshawa late last year, the show was amazing with an electric atmosphere. Canada has always been a cornerstone of professional wrestling, from its in-ring legends and new talent to its passionate fans. We expect No Surrender to be unforgettable.”
In the press release, TNA touted its roster members with local ties -- Christian Cage of Orangeville, Gail Kim of Toronto, Traci Brooks of St. Mary's and Robert Roode of Peterborough, the closest of the cities to Oshawa.
Tickets for No Surrender 2008 will go on sale Friday, July 25 at all Ticketmaster Canada outlets, online at www.ticketmaster.ca and at the General Motors Centre box office.
