Raw: Batista rises above, Kane gets angry
By DALE PLUMMER -- SLAM! Wrestling

No GM! Vince injured! Jim Ross on Smackdown! JBL declares martial law! Dogs and cats living together -- mass hysteria! And it all continues as Monday Night RAW broadcasts from New Orleans.

Steph takes her turn to plead for the WWE superstars and crew on RAW to band together and work as one since Vince is on the shelf.

Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler start off in a darkened arena only to have the lights come up and reveal Smackdown General Manager Vicki Guerrero in the ring. Vicki tells us who she is, and she is in danger of getting drowned out by the crowd. The real reason she is here is to protest CM Punk winning the title and wants him to hand it over and apologize.

The new champion CM Punk comes out and celebrates with the fans. Vicki accuses Punk of stealing the championship and Edge is close to having a nervous breakdown and he called off the wedding. Punk states what the Money in the Bank clause means, and then cites Edge doing the same thing. Vicki is just upset the wedding is off. (And I am upset that stupid Smackdown storylines are bleeding into RAW.) Punk tells Vicki there are more fish in the sea. Vicki rises from her chair to slap the champion. Punk tells her she just bought a one-way ticket back to Smackdown, when JBL drives (I mean is driven) into the arena.

JBL tells Punk that last weekís interference saved him his title. JBL challenges Punk, again. Punk tells JBL he had his shot and lost. Bradshaw tries to argue interference, when John Cena walks out to add his voice to the proceeding. Cena tells JBL to stop playing the blame game and deal with it. Cena points out no one is in charge, so letís figure this out like men. Cena proposes and number one contender match, himself versus JBL.

Batista has heard enough, and probably wants to throw his name into the mix. Batista first says hi to Vicki and gloats a little. JBL cuts off the Animal and things get heated. Cena calms things down and then suggests and triple threat match to be the number one contender at the Great American Bash. JBL says he is in charge. Cena tells him to get on board or he is out of the match. JBL finally relents and starts making threats, when the ring posts exploded. I guess Kane wants in on this too.

Kane says one thing, "I want in, too!" Punk seems to like the idea of a fatal four-way, and makes it so.

Match #1 - Santino Marella vs. Rey Mysterio

Santino shoves Mysterio and Rey hits him in the face. Rey nails a head scissors, but then get caught in the air and slammed to the mat. Santino drops a fist, and then locks in a camel clutch. Rey breaks free, shoving Santino into the ropes. Mysterio takes a clothesline while looking for the 619, but Rey recovers and uses both feet to stomp on Marellaís chest. Rey connects with a springboard leg drop, and follows with a 619. Mysterio caps off the assault with a splash from the top turnbuckle. Rey covers for the win.

Winner via pinfall: Rey Mysterio

The Grish asks the champion who he wants to win tonight. Punk doesnít give the clichť answer, but gets interrupted by Snitsky, who he mad because he didnít get a title shot when he got drafted to RAW last year. Punk gives him a match tonight.

Looks like John Cena and Mickie James are still an item as they talk backstage. Kelly Kelly runs in to grab Mickie for their upcoming match. Cena looks at Kelly and says one thing as she leaves, "God Bless America."

Match #2 - Mickie James and Kelly Kelly vs. Jillian Hall and Layla

(So I am actually doing this report live tonight, which means I canít fast forward through this match.) Well, it seems Kelly has been working out in the ring. Kelly Kelly picks up the win with a victory roll out of the corner.

Winner via pinfall: Mickie James and Kelly Kelly

JBLís music hits and the limo pulls out, but when we return from break JBL walks out of the back and looks confused. Cena emerges from the limo and says he brought it inside the building for JBLís protection. Cena says the limo wonít pass inspection, but he knows two guys who can get parts and fix cars, Cryme Tyme. Big Shad and JTG proceed to damage the car as Cena calls out the "problems" with the car. Cryme Tyme then throws in a "custom" paint job. Cena announces the car is now up to code.

Match #3 - CM Punk vs. Snitsky

Punk gets a kick out Cryme Tymeís handiwork as he heads to the ring. Punk connects with a series of kicks. Snitsky catches Punk in mid air, and slams him to ground. Snitsky follows with an elbow drop. Punk breaks free of a bear hug, but runs into a shoulder block. The champ dodges a leg drop, and goes up stairs with an enziguri. Punk climbs to the top and hits a flying forearm. Punk connects with a running knee lift and hits a bulldog out of the corne. Punk picks up Snitsky and connects with the GTS. Punk covers for the win.

Winner via pinfall: CM Punk

HBK makes his way to the ring and wants to address the Chris Jericho situation. Michaels accepts Jericho's challenge at the Great American Bash. Jericho walks out to the ring with Lance Cade in tow. Jericho says he knew HBK would accept the challenge, and he knows Shawn is hurt. Jericho says this is a no lose situation for HBK. Jericho asks Shawn why? Why do it for the fans? The fans wonít visit, they wonít pay the bills. Jericho tells Shawn to be a martyr, but eventually he will be forgotten. HBK says he could leave this business today, and will be remembered forever. Jericho isnít happy that the fans give him a free pass every time. Shawn agrees it isnít fair, but despite all Jerichoís accomplishments Y2J will never be HBK.

Match #4 - Charlie Haas vs. Kofi Kingston

Haas starts off with a side headlock. Kofi breaks free, but is knocked down by a shoulder block. Kofi leaps Haas and then pulls off a hip toss. Haas with a series of shots, and then chokes Kingston on the ropes. Haas connects with a clubbing blow to the back. Haas snap mares Kofi and then connects with a series of kicks. Kofi hits a cross body and then the double leg drop. Kinston hits a spinning heel kick and covers Haas for the win.

Winner via pinfall: Kofi Kingston

After the bell, Paul Burchill hits a neck breaker from behind and then curbstomps the IC champ.

Batista is getting ready in the back, when some kid runs in front of him and does Batista entrance move. He is chased off by security as Batista tries not to crack up.

Match #5 - JBL vs. Batista vs. John Cena vs. Kane - Fatal Four-way Number One Contender Match

Cena and JBL go right after each other as the bell rings, and we go to break. We return to find Kane locked up with Cena, and Batista pounding on JBL. Kane levels Cena with a big elbow as Cena shot off the ropes. JBL hits Batista with a clothesline in the corner. Batista responds with a spinebuster to JBL. Kane breaks up the pin and hits Batista with a choke slam. Cena counters a choke slam and sets up the F-U, but JBL kicks him in the head. JBL and Kane then knock each other down with kicks. Cena hits a shoulder block on Batista, and then Kane with the throwback. Cena hits Batista with the F-U, but the pin is broken up. And we go to break again.

After the commercial, Kane breaks up a five-knuckle shuffle. Batista takes it to Kane, and knocks down JBL with one punch. Cena is on the receiving end of a spinebuster for Batista, who is then taken out by a clotheline from hell from JBL. Cena locks in the STF-U on JBL, but Kane picks Cena up. Cena and JBL avoid the double chokeslam. JBL and Cena spill to the floor and Cena is whipped into the stairs. Back in the ring, Kane counters a Batista bomb, and tosses the Animal into the ringpost. JBL nails Cena with the ringsteps, but is then tossed over the security barrier by Kane. The Big Red Machine climbs the turnbuckle, but Batista dodges the move, and counters with a spear. Batista covers Kane for the win.

Winner via pinfall: Batista

An irate Kane knocks over the ring steps, and then says asks Cole, "Is he alive or dead?" Kane then knocks out two WWE employees at ringside, before turning his attention back to Cole. Kane grabs the announcer by the throat, and tosses him into the ring. Cole has no idea what Kane is talking about. Kane wants an answer. Jerry Lawler chop blocks Kane to prevent a chokeslam and save his partner. Kane recovers quickly and smacks Lawler around, before kicking him in the head. Kane leaves the ring and heads to the back.
