Trevor Murdoch leaves WWE
By SLAM! Wrestling
World Wrestling Entertainment and Trevor Murdoch have parted ways, according to WWE.com. A statement on Thursday evening said: "World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of Trevor Murdoch as of July 03, 2008. WWE wishes Trevor the best in all future endeavors." The release has come as a surprise to many, as it was believed that Murdoch's transfer to the Smackdown roster was due to the influence of writer Michael Hayes. Hayes was said to have ideas to promote the 27-year-old, following his on-screen break-up with tag team partner Lance Cade.
Murdoch (formerly known as Trevor Rhodes) was a three-time WWE Tag Team Champion with Cade, their most recent reign having ended in December, at the hands of Bob Holly and Cody Rhodes.
