TNA crew member killed in accident
By JASON CLEVETT - SLAM! Wrestling

A crew member for TNA was killed last night after the company's Slammiversary pay-per-view went off the air, Action News WMC-TV in Memphis is reporting.

The accident occurred around 11:00 p.m. after the event had concluded. Officials said a group of men were working to break down a metal backdrop 15-20 feet off the ground when scaffolding collapsed. The crew member, whose name was released as Kevin Sinex, 45, of Windemere, Fl, was on top of the scaffolding at the time and fell and hit his head on the concrete below. He was rushed to Baptist DeSoto Hospital in Southaven where he later died.

Paul Martin, a worker from the local Crew 1 group who was also working on scene lost his thumb in the accident and was also taken to the hospital. He is expected to recover.

No further injuries were reported.

Monday afternoon, TNA issued a statement, reading in part that "Currently, TNA is working in cooperation with local authorities to investigate the details surrounding the accident. TNA is deeply saddened by this tragedy. We ask our fans across the world to join us as our thoughts and prayers are with the family in their time of loss."
