Impact: Cage, Rhino advance to KOTM
By CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

King of the Mountain qualifying continues on this edition of Impact, as Rhino takes on James Storm and Christian Cage does battle with Tomko. The Knockouts will be in action as well, as Angelina Love takes on Roxxi Laveaux. Kurt and Karen Angle will also be inside the Impact Zone, while Booker T and Team 3D discuss their actions from last week. All this and more on Impact!

The show began with highlights from the last edition of Impact, followed by the usual Mike Tenay/Don West banter.

Booker T and Team 3D then made their way into the Impact Zone. They explained that Tomko was in the back getting ready for his King of the Mountain qualifying match, and Kurt Angle was in Hollywood shooting his new project. They show a picture of AJ Styles and ask if they are the bad guys or if Styles is the true bad guy. They say how Styles slept with Karen Angle while her children were in the other room sleeping. They talk about all the bad things Styles did and once again asked if they were bad or if Styles was the true bad guy. Booker T then grabbed the mic and talked about winning the King of the Mountain and making Samoa Joe kiss his royal feet. Team 3D then spoke about LAX and Hector Guerrero. That brought out Guerrero, LAX and Salinas. Guerrero talked about Jim Cornette making a match for Slammiversary that pits LAX against Team 3D, but he asked why they should even wait. As they were about to hit the ring, Christian Cage and Rhino came out. Cage ran down Booker and said that he and Rhino were going to advance to the King of the Mountain match. Samoa Joe then came out through the crowd and ran down Booker T as well. He told Cage, Rhino and LAX that they should all put their differences aside and beat down Booker and Team 3D for what they did to AJ Styles. Booker and Team 3D powdered out, only for Styles to come out and attack Team 3D with a steel chair, as Booker ran away.

In the back, Jeremy Borash spoke to Karen Angle, who said that she was happy AJ Styles was okay, because she would have blamed herself. She said that Styles had something to say to her tonight and she didn't know what it was.

Mike Tenay and Don West then recapped what took place with AJ Styles, Team 3D and Booker T.

Backstage, Lauren spoke to Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt, So Cal Val and Ace Young from American Idol. Young will be singing at the Lethal/Val wedding. Dutt talked about getting revenge on the Rock N Rave Infection. Lethal talked about being a little nervous and Dutt said it wasn't too late to back out. Young said that he had a surprise for after the match.

Hermie Sadler then joined Mike Tenay and Don West for commentary.

Jay Lethal then called Sonjay Dutt back into the ring as Impact went to a commercial break. Back from the break, Lethal asked Dutt to be the best man at his wedding, to which Dutt agreed. Ace Young then announced that there would be a bachelor party on the next edition of Impact. An Ace Young video was then shown starring Lethal and Val.

Mike Tenay and Don West then discussed the King of the Mountain qualifying matches.

After the match, The Beautiful People placed a paper bag over Roxxi Laveaux's head, as ODB and Gail Kim on crutches made their way to the ring. ODB took one of the crutches and swung it around to chase The Beautiful People to the back.

In Jim Cornette's office, Cornette was shown flipping out at Jeremy Borash for his role in the Awesome Kong Challenge. He said to make sure the releases were signed. Booker T and Team 3D then entered the office and argued with Jim Cornette about locker room arrangements. Cornette dismissed them and said that he had to go to the ring and that when he got back, he didn't want them there.

Eric Young was shown still looking for Elvis.

Jim Cornette entered the Impact Zone and hyped Slammiversary. Kevin Nash came out and spoke to Cornette about Booker T and Team 3D. He said that he would take care of them, but in return, he wanted to be the Special Guest Enforcer for the King of the Mountain match. Cornette agreed to the terms. Nash then told Cornette to ask him nicely to be the Special Guest Enforcer, which Cornette did and Nash humbly accepted.

They took off, as Nash mentioned that it wasn't personal, just business.

Match Four - King of the Mountain Qualifying Match - Rhino vs. James Storm w/ Jackie Moore

Jeremy Borash stood by with AJ Styles and Karen Angle. Styles said that he was ready to go to the ring and make his big announcement.

Kurt Angle was then shown walking into the back.

Karen Angle then made her way to the ring and called out AJ Styles. Styles didn't show up, as they sent things to the back, where Kurt Angle was shown beating on him. Kurt Angle then made his way into the Impact Zone and confronted Karen Angle. Kurt called Karen a whore and she slapped him. Styles then ran out and attacked Kurt before he could do anything to her. Team 3D, Booker T and Tomko then ran out and beat on Styles. Christian Cage tried to make the save, but was beaten down as well. Kurt then told Styles that evil always triumphed because good is dumb. Kurt, Booker, Tomko and Team 3D stood tall to round out another edition of Impact.
