ECW: A last staredown before One Night Stand
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on ECW on Sci-Fi: The Big Show made a big impact in the Land of Extreme last week. Can he follow up last week's dominance? Should be a good one!

And we are LIVE! from World Arena in Colorado Springs, Colo., the same arena where I watched Michigan State upset host Colorado College in the NCAA Hockey Tournament in March. Mike Adamle and "The Tazz" are our hosts and this show is presented in WWEHD (TV-14DLSV)

Tonight: The Miz and John Morrison face Kane in a handicap match and CM Punk battles Chavo Guerrero.

Match #1 - The Big Show (Tampa, Fla.) vs. Tommy Dreamer (Yonkers, N.Y.)

Dreamer's money line in this one is probably somewhere around +13,546.

Show landed some power moves, Dreamer got some pity offense, Show hits choke slam for the win.

Winner via pinfall: The Big Show

Well, I must say I didn't say that one coming a kilometre away.

Adamle welcomes us back to "the ECW on Sci-Fi" where he welcomes Shelton Benjamin to the commentary desk and they go over his big win over Kofi Kingston last week, ending Kingston's undefeated streak.

Match #2 - Kofi Kingston (Jamaica) vs. Mike "School of Hard" Knox (Phoenix, Ariz.)

You know what's Jamaican me crazy? Kofi's got pyro! It's green and yellow and totally awesome.

Shelton compares Kofi to the monkey man from Bloodsport.

As for the match, the WWE Draft cannot come soon enough for ECW. Mike Knox continues to be the most uninteresting goon on the entire WWE roster. Bring back Tomko (or utilize Bam Neely).

Knox hits his usual power offense but Kofi comes back and hits some of his awesome moves, including an elbow that busts up Knox's left eye bad. It's a quick ending for Knox, as Kingston nails the Jamaican Buzzsaw to end it.

Winner via pinfall: Kofi Kingston

Benjamin no likey this development and attacks Kofi from behind. They brawl around before Knox gets his wits back and hits his corkscrew faceplant on Kingston.

Coming up next, former ECW Champions collide as CM Punk battles Chavo Guerrero.

Match #3 - Chavo Guerrero (El Paso, Texas) vs. CM Punk (Chicago, Ill.)

Chavo starts to wear down Punk on the ground, so we hit some ...

Back from break and Punk is in control, but that changes when he is low-bridged by Bam Neely and takes a big tumble to the outside.

Chavo controls again before Punk fires up and hits some kicks. It isn't long, though, before Chavo takes Punk back to the ground with a half-Boston Crab, but Punk gets to the rope.

Guerrero hits two of the Three Amigos but Punk hoists him up for GTS, but Chavo gets out with a hurricarana. After a series of reversals, Chavo rolls up Punk with a big handful of tights for the fall.

Winner via pinfall: Chavo Guerrero

Lena Yada is backstage with Colin Delaney, who talks about Mr. McMahon's choice to give away $1 million each week on RAW. Colin also adds that he wants to stay on ECW but wouldn't mind seeing Armando Estrada go to RAW or Smackdown!.

Match #4 - Handicap Match - John Morrison (Los Angeles, Calif.) & The Miz (Cleveland, Ohio) vs. Kane (Hell, Fire & Brimstone)

The double team thing works for a little bit for the champs, but Kane quickly foils that. He then hits the flying clothesline on Miz before going for a double choke slam, but Morrison and Miz kick their way out of it. The duo continues to beat on Kane and don't break before the count of five.

Winner via disqualification: Kane

Morrison and Miz continue to beat on Kane, but CM Punk comes to make the save. This brings in Chavo Guerrero and then Tommy Dreamer to join the ruckus. Of course, Big Show has to make his presense known and he dispatches of everyone before turning around into a staredown with Kane. They seeth at each other as we go off the air.
