Impact: Turning attention to Slammiversary
By CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

With Sacrifice in the rear-view mirror, TNA drives forward towards Slammiversary. On this edition of Impact, Team 3D and Booker T take on Samoa Joe, Christian Cage and Rhino. The TNA Knockouts also partake in some in-ring action, while LAX and The Motor City Machine Guns do battle. All this and more on Impact!

The show began with highlights from Sacrifice. Samoa Joe and Kevin Nash were shown walking into the Impact Zone together, while Mike Tenay and Don West did their usual thing.

With the TNA superstars surrounding the ring, Samoa Joe came out and announced that he and four other stars would be competing in a King of the Mountain match at Slammiversary for the TNA Heavyweight Championship. Jim Cornette announced that there would be a tournament to determine which four men would compete, with Jim Cornette picking four stars to participate and Joe picking the other four to participate. Cornette's four included, Matt Morgan, Robert Roode, James Storm and Tomko. Cornette said that he picked them because they never got a TNA Heavyweight Championship opportunity. Joe said that he would announce his four on the next edition of Impact, because he wanted to scout for four of TNA's toughest. Booker T emerged from the locker room and complained about not being picked by Cornette and told Joe that if he didn't pick him, that there would be consequences. This led to a brawl, with Rhino and Christian Cage jumping in on Booker T. Team 3D ran out and helped Booker away, as Booker challenged Joe, Rhino and Cage to a six man tag team match on Impact.

In the back, Jeremy Borash ran into Kurt Angle and Frank Trigg. Angle talked about being out with a neck injury and said that he wanted Karen and the kids to move back home with him. He said that he would be reading a speech later on Impact.

Lauren was then shown with Kaz, Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt and So Cal Val. Kaz talked about his accomplishments and said that things were happening for him. He mentioned that they were going to defeat Johnny Devine and The Rock N Rave Infection. Lethal was pacing all around and Dutt asked what was wrong. Lethal told him that he had some stuff to think about and walked away.

Match One - Kaz, Sonjay Dutt and Jay Lethal w/ So Cal Val vs. Johnny Devine and The Rock N Rave Infection (Jimmy Rave and Lance Hoyt) w/ Christy Hemme

Christy Hemme tried to get involved, leading to Johnny Devine and The Rock N Rave Infection taking control of the match, however, Kaz, Sonjay Dutt and Jay Lethal were able to rally back and pick up the victory.

Winners Via Pinfall - Kaz, Sonjay Dutt and Jay Lethal

After the match, Jay Lethal asked So Cal Val into the ring and proposed to her. Val responded with an "Ohhh Yeah!" Sonjay Dutt looked on with anger.

Mike Tenay and Don West talked about Abyss as a package highlighting his career in TNA was shown.

Footage was then shown of Abyss in an asylum. He was in straight jacket and padded room. It was mentioned that he was almost cured and would be able to go home. The return of Abyss at Slammiversary perhaps?

Mike Tenay and Don West talked about Sacrifice and then pitched it to the back, where Lauren was standing by with Samoa Joe and Kevin Nash. Nash said they had a misunderstanding, by now were on common ground. Joe said that his focus was on Booker T and said that later on he would defeat Booker.

A package was then shown to highlight the feud between Gail Kim and The Awesome Kong.

Match Two - TNA Knockouts Championship Match - The Awesome Kong w/ Riesha Saeed (C) vs. Gail Kim

This was a good match. The TNA Knockouts started coming out as the match progressed. Riesha Saeed tried to get involved, but ODB came out and pulled her off the apron, leading to a brawl on the floor. Gail Kim tried to take The Awesome Kong down with some aerial assault, but was pushed from the top rope by Angelina Love, landing on her knee. As Kim held her knee, Kong got up and hit an Awesome Bomb to retain the belt.

Winner Via Pinfall and STILL TNA Knockouts Champion - The Awesome Kong

After the match, the Knockouts checked on Kim, as Angelina Love and Velvet Sky celebrated.

Back from the commercial break, replays were shown of the knee injury that Gail Kim suffered. A package was then shown on the Angle family.

Kurt Angle came out and cut a hysterical promo asking Karen Angle to come back to him where she belongs. He called her out for the next edition of Impact, as Spike TV cut to a commercial break.

Jeremy Borash was shown standing by with LAX, Hector Guerrero and Salinas. LAX said that they were going to continue to be dominant.

Match Three - LAX (Homicide and Hernandez) w/ Hector Guerrero and Salinas vs. The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin)

This was a solid back and forth match that saw LAX pick up the win after hitting Chris Sabin with the Gringo Cutter.

Winners Via Pinfall - LAX (Homicide and Hernandez)

Jeremy Borash was shown trying to interview Booker T, but Team 3D were there to push him out. Booker talked about being disrespected and said that he was going to take out Samoa Joe. Team 3D mentioned that they would be alongside Booker to take out Christian Cage and Rhino.

Eric Young was shown looking for Elvis, when he was picked up by someone in a Lucha Mask. Interesting.

Mike Tenay did a sit-down interview with Sting where Sting talked about his partnership with Jim Hellwig (Ultimate Warrior) and how Jerry Jarrett hired them. This was part one of the interview, with the next part airing on the next edition of Impact.

Roxxi Laveaux was shown walking in the back, while Lauren spoke with The Beautiful People, Angelina Love and Velvet Sky. Lauren was angry about what happened to Laveaux, but Love and Sky played it off. They said that she deserved it and she would get another makeover if she stepped out of line again.

Match Four - The Beautiful People (Angelina Love and Velvet Sky) vs. ODB and Roxxi Laveaux

The Beautiful People used their double teaming abilities to gain the advantage in this one. After some back and forth action, Angelina Love hit ODB with a dropkick and was rolled up by Velvet Sky for the pin.

Winners Via Pinfall - The Beautiful People (Angelina Love and Velvet Sky)

In the back, Lauren caught up with Christian Cage and Rhino who said that they were going to beat Booker T and Team 3D to a bloody pulp and lead their team to victory.

Match Five - Booker T and Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon) vs. Samoa Joe, Rhino and Christian Cage

This was a solid main event that turned into an all-out brawl. Team 3D tried to hit Samoa Joe with the 3D, but Christian Cage intervened and took out Brother Ray with a missile dropkick. Samoa Joe then hit a snap slam on Brother Devon to pick up the win for his team.

Winners Via Pinfall - Samoa Joe, Rhino and Christian Cage

After the match, Team 3D attacked Hector Guerrero and beat him till he was bleeding. Guerrero was left laying to round out another edition of Impact.
