Tonight on ECW on Sci-Fi: It's a gold-filled main event as World
Heavyweight Champion The Undertaker and ECW Champion Kane battle the WWE
Tag Team Champions John Morrison and The Miz. Should be a good one!
And we are LIVE! from London, England (well, not exactly), and Joey Styles and Tazz are our hosts and this
show is presented in WWEHD (TV-14DLSV).
Tazz informs us that Joey Styles will no longer be the Voice of ECW, as
he will be heading up WWE.com from now on. Styles brings in his replacement
-- Mike Adamle.
Match #1 - CM Punk (Chicago, Ill.), Jimmy Wang Yang (Austell, Ga.),
Shannon Moore (Whispering Pines, N.C.) & Kofi Kingston (Jamaica) vs. Elijah
Burke (Jacksonville, Fla.), Deuce & Domino (The Other Side of the Tracks) &
Shelton Benjamin (Orangeburg, S.C.)
Adamle does his best to talk over all the introductions. I have a feeling
this is going to be a bumpy ride.
Both teams exchange the momentum. Benjamin throws Punk onto the outside
and sends his teammates to sick Punk, but Punk's mates back him up. We have
a standoff.
(Ads -- Flames and Sharks have just faced off. I am excited for this
one! Also, to cap off some hockey thoughts, great win for the Habs.)
We're back and Punk and Burke are briefly together before Kingston gets
the tag. The faces utilize quick tags as Moore and Yang also takes turns on
Burke.
All it takes is a big boot for Burke to take control and he tags in
Benjamin who goes to work on Yang with a chinlock. Yang gets out of the
chinlock but runs into a big boot as the heels take their turn in cutting
off the ring.
Deuce is next up for Yang, as he eats another chinlock. Burke, fully
rested, gets his turn and has to be pulled off Yang after, as Tazz would
say, he "threw some hands."
Yang is really taking a beating from all four men here but is able to get
to Kingston.
Kofi comes in as the proverbial house o' fire while Shannon Moore leaps
over the rope to take care of the remaining wrestlers, leaving Kofi to hit
the Trouble in Paradise on Deuce for the fall.
Winners via pinfall: Kofi Kingston, CM Punk, Jimmy Wang Yang & Shannon
Moore
Last week, Kane and Chavo Guerrero signed to meet for the ECW
Championship at Backlash. Chavo brought out his newest hire. Then Kane got,
as Santino Marella would say, "a can of the ass whip" opened on him.
Backstage, Kane says Chavo made a grave mistake by attacking him. They
have awoken a monster. Tonight, that monster will reveal itself.
Next Monday, we will probably get the see the entire
King of the Ring Tournament on RAW.
(Ads -- Flames up 1-0 on a goal by Captain Calgary. Please get rid of
San Jose -- Sincerely, everyone in Detroit.)
Tazz is in the ring, but not with Colin Delaney. Instead, he's going to
host a Diva Dance-off featuring Layla, Maryse, Eve Torres, Lena Yada and
Kelly Kelly.
Tazz then demonstrates what he is capable of. The Divas laugh. I
shudder.
Well, WWE certainly makes my job easier when they do segments like this.
I almost feel like I'm stealing from SLAM! Wrestling at times like these.
For those that care ...
Winner via shakin' that thang: Kelly Kelly
Kelly celebrates by dancing with Tazz. Somewhere, the members of Too Cool
are crying.
(Ads -- The hated Avalanche have gone up 3-0 on Minnesota.)
Match #2 - Tommy Dreamer (Yonkers, N.Y.) vs. Mike Knox
(Phoenix, Ariz.)
Before the masses can change the channel, Armando Estrada interrupts and
says he knows the fans want to see a competitive match. They want to see
Mike Knox compete with a potential World Champion. They want to see Mike
Knox against Colin Delnaey. Dreamer has the night off.
Match #2 - Colin Delaney (Rochester, N.Y.) vs. Mike Knox (Phoenix,
Ariz.)
Well, I can dig this.
Knox absolutely mauls Delaney, hitting the corkscrew faceplant for the
win. Probably less than 60 seconds.
Winner via pinfall: Mike Knox
I hope Delaney turns heel next week and cuts a promo saying the only
reason he lost is because he wasn't prepared.
Miz (HOO-RAH!) and Morrison spout off about beating the Brothers of
Destruction.

Match #3 - John Morrison (Los Angeles, Calif.) & The Miz (Cleveland,
Ohio) vs. Kane (Hell, Fire & Brimstone) & The Undertaker (Death Valley,
Calif.)
Kane has his way with Miz early and tags in Undertaker to a large roar.
The two work on Miz's shoulder and Taker takes no time in hitting Old
School.
He sends Miz to the outside and stomps him and, with him still on the
apron, he goes for a leg drop but Morrison clotheslines him off the apron
and onto the floor.

Back from break and Morrison is actually getting some offense in on the
Dead Man. Of course, that lasts a mere three seconds before Undertaker gets
his roll on.
Morrison gets a tag to Miz, who wants nothing to do with Kane.
A chop block takes out Kane allowing Morrison to get back into the match.
Morrison works the leg and tags Miz back in to do the same. The two have
Kane isolated in their corner and are never more than 30 seconds between
tags, it seems.
Kane, though, fires up and makes the tag to his brother while Miz brings
in Morrison.
Undertaker hits Snake Eyes and a big boot on Morrison. He then tries a
double choke slam on his own, but they get out. This only allows for Kane to
recover for stereo choke slams. This makes Morrison easy pickins for the
Tombstone.
Winners via pinfall: The Undertaker & Kane
A decent showing by Adamle but he showed a few times how incredibly green
he is to WWE. We shall see how this goes in the long run. Go Wings. See ya
next week!
