Tonight on ECW on Sci-Fi: The rematch the wrestling world has been
clammoring for is finally signed, as Kane and Chavo Guerrero seal the deal
for their Backlash rematch. Should be a good one!
And we are LIVE! from Boston. Joey Styles and Tazz are our hosts and this
show is presented in WWEHD (TV-14DLSV).
Match #1 - The Miz (Cleveland, Ohio) vs. CM Punk (Chicago,
Ill.)
John Morrison joins Styles and Tazz on commentary for the match as Styles
speculates on the number of hats The Miz (HOO-RAH!) owns.
This is actually the first ECW match that I've recalled caring about in a
few weeks.
The two exchange holds to start before Punk starts to work on Miz's
knees. (On commentary, Morrison calls Miz "The Cleveland Hat Master."
Nice.)
Punk went to the apron and looked to Morrison, who distracted Punk long
enough for Miz to knock Punk into the announce table.
The Miz Momentum Train doesn't last for long, though, as Punk hits a
springboard clothesline. Sensing his partner's in trouble, Morrison jumps
onto the apron and distracts Punk again. This time, referee Scott Armstrong
boots Morrison from the ringside area as Miz works a chinlock on Punk.

Back from break and Miz is working some ground-and-pound on Punk, but a
cover gets only two.
Miz continues to control Punk before the two engage in a criss-cross that
ends in a double clothesline.
Armstrong starts the count on both men and they are up at nine.
Punk gets going, hitting various kicks. Miz turns it around, though,
hitting a running clothesline and a slingshot from two.
But just like that, Punk turns it around, hitting the running kneelift, a
bulldog and GTS all in about 10 seconds for the win.
Winner via pinfall: CM Punk
Backstage, Armando Estrada welcomes Colin Delaney and Tommy Dreamer into
his office. Delaney is looking for another shot at an ECW contract. Estrada
obliges and his opponent: Dreamer. Estrada says if Dreamer loses, he's
fired. Ruh roh.

Estrada is in the ring for the Backlash contract signing. He first brings
out Chavo Guerrero, who is flanked by Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins.
Out next is the ECW Champion, Kane.
Kane, as champion, is asked to sign first. Chavo asks him if he wants to
do it. He says with the signing of that contract, he is signing away the ECW
Championship. Kane says Guerrero is awfully cocky for someone who lost his
title in eight seconds.
Chavo says at Backlash, he's going to have someone watching his back. And
a bald guy with a beard and a suit comes down the ramp. We don't know who
this cat is. They then begin a 4-on-1 beatdown of the champ, culminating in
a Frog Splash through a table.
Following that, Guerrero signs on the dotted line and that's that.
Big mean dude accepts a handshake from Chavo as they head to the
back.

Match #2 - Elijah Burke (Jacksonville, Fla.) vs. Nunzio (Rockland
County, N.Y.)
NUNZIO IS ALIVE!
Surprisingly, Nunzio gets some brief offense in early before Burke starts
to take it to 'em.
Burke just runs over Nunzio before finishing him.
Winner via pinfall: Elijah Burke
Complete and utter destruction by Elijah Burke

Match #3 - Domino (Other Side of the Tracks) vs. Kofi Kingston
(Jamaica)
Looks like Domino is Kofi's designated job boy tonight!
It's all Kofi early before a big face plant puts Domino in control.
Kingston reverses out of a Domino hold and starts to gain momentum,
hitting a Russian leg sweep, then what they are now calling "Air Jamaica."
After a brief spurt by Domino, he walks right into the buzzsaw kick (now
called Trouble in Paradise).
Winner via pinfall: Kofi Kingston
Eve Torres is talking to Kelly Kelly backstage when Layla interrupts and
talks down to Eve. Yep. That's 55 seconds of my life I'll never get
back.

Next week: the Brothers of Destruction unite on ECW!
Match #4 - Colin Delaney (Rochester, N.Y.) vs. Tommy Dreamer (Yonkers,
N.Y.)
This is great, Delaney enters with no music, but he has a TitanTron. He
actually gets a nice ovation. Go Colin!
Estrada is at ringside for this one.
The two quickly circle and Dreamer takes Delaney down. Dreamer executes
some basic wrestling on Delaney.
Dreamer charges at Delaney but Delaney low bridges him to the outside and
then springboards onto him.
With Dreamer down on the outside, Delaney drags him back into the ring
where he goes for a series of pins, all unsuccessful.
Dreamer lifts Delaney onto the top turnbuckle and climbs up himself, but
Delaney pushes him off and Dreamer lands hard on the mat.
Colin goes for a missle dropkick, but Dreamer swats him out of the air.
Colin tries to rally, but Dreamer punishes him, putting him chest-first into
the corner before setting him up for the Tree of Woe dropkick.
Add in a DDT for good measure and that's all she wrote for Delaney.
Winner via pinfall: Tommy Dreamer
After the match, Dreamer helps Delaney to his feet as we are once again
reminded that the Brothers of Destruction team up on ECW for the very first
time.
