Impact: The Return of Sting
By CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

For the first time in TNA history, Impact goes live on Spike TV! On this edition, we get a preview of Lockdown as Team Cage does battle with Team Tomko. Booker T dukes it out with Robert Roode in a First Blood Match. Plus the return of Sting! All this and more on a very live edition of Impact.

The show began with Booker T and Robert Roode brawling in the crowd. Payton Banks and Tracy Brooks got involved, as security ran out and broke things up.

Mike Tenay and Don West then did their usual welcome and said that there was a vote on tnawrestling.com as to who Awesome Kong's opponent would be. Jim Cornette then announced that Booker T would be taking on Robert Roode in either a Last Man Standing, I Quit match with Payton Banks and Tracy Brooks at ringside or a First Blood Match. A poll was then opened for that as well on tnawrestling.com

Jeremy Borash was in the back with AJ Styles and Tomko. They talked about the workout they were going to be having with Kurt Angle. Styles mumbled on about Karen Angle and complained about Team 3D eating his food, while Tomko was in the zone and said not to worry about Sting. Kurt Angle walked in and told them to be prepared for the workout. He also told Borash that he should workout, because next week might be his turn.

Match One - X-Scape Qualifying Match - Johnny Devine w/ Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon) vs. Alex Shelley

This was a pretty solid match overall. Johnny Devine brought a camera out with him to take a little shot at his former Papparazzi Productions partner. During the match, the lights flickered on and off and scared Team 3D to the back. In the end, Devine used the camera to his advantage and whacked Alex Shelley, knocking him out, before hitting the butterfly piledriver for the win. Johnny Devine now joins Curry Man and Petey Williams in the X- Scape match against Jay Lethal at Lockdown.

Winner Via Pinfall - Johnny Devine

Jay Lethal and So Cal Val continued their date at the gym. Petey Williams came in and put down Lethal. Val was spotting for Lethal as he attempted to do a bench press. Sonjay Dutt then walked in and hit on So Cal Val. The two left as the 400-pound weight came crashing down on Lethal. Wow.

Mike Tenay and Don West plugged the online voting.

Booker T ranted and raved and said that he wanted Robert Roode's blood.

Jeremy Borash caught up with Team 3D and Johnny Devine. Team 3D was happy that Devine advanced to the X-Scape match. They ran down Sting a bit, as the lights flickered. Team 3D once again took the opportunity to bail.

Match Two - Six Person Intergender Tag Team Match - Scott Steiner, Petey Williams and Rhaka Kahn vs. LAX (Homicide, Hernandez and Salinas)

This was another good match with a ton of reversals. Homicide was able to hit a bridging T-Bone Suplex on Petey Williams for the win. After the match, Scott Steiner tortured Williams some more.

Winners Via Pinfall - LAX (Homicide, Hernandez and Salinas)

Another Rough Cuts segment was shown with BG and Kip James talking about the Feast or Fired match being the root of their problems. The two talked over the situation and chalked it up to being a misunderstanding.

A Lockdown commercial was shown, as well as some hype for Consequences Creed's return.

Earlier in the day, Mike Tenay did a sit-down interview with Karen Angle. Angle said that she realized she was wrong in the way she was behaving. She said that Kurt Angle has become obsessed with Samoa Joe. She said that she moved out, as Tenay asked if she was seeing another TNA star instead of Kurt. She said that she met someone that treats her the way that Kurt used to, but she wouldn't confirm anything.

Mike Tenay and Don West once again hyped the online voting.

A package was then shown of Samoa Joe's workouts. Mark Davis commented on Joe, as Joe said that he has always owned Kurt Angle.

Samoa Joe chimed in via satellite and talked about his intense workouts. He told Mike Tenay and Don West that he was coming to Lockdown and was going to walk out the TNA Champion, or he was going to quit. Joe however, guaranteed victory. Frank Trigg then joined Tenay and West on commentary.

Kurt Angle, AJ Styles and Tomko then came out for Kurt Angle's workout. They did one-minute rounds, with Angle and Tomko starting off. They went hard at each other, with Angle drawing some blood from Tomko. When it was Styles' turn, he played keep away and got Angle upset. During the second round, Angle was able to reverse Tomko and lock in an Ankle Lock. Styles once again tried to play keep away and got into an argument with Angle. Christian Cage, Kevin Nash and Rhino then came out and ran down the Angle Alliance, before charging the ring. Angle bailed, as Team 3D ran down and beat on Cage, Nash and Rhino. During the beat down, the lights went out and when they came back on, Sting had returned and was cleaning house. He then grabbed a mic and challenged Team Tomko to a match against Team Cage, which was accepted.

Jeremy Borash was in the back with Robert Roode and announced that his match against Booker T was going to be First Blood. Roode said that he wanted Booker's blood and then he wanted Sharmell's blood at Lockdown.

James Farrior of the Pittsburgh Steelers was shown.

Match Three - First Blood Match - Booker T vs. Robert Roode

This was an all out brawl, as Booker T went right on the attack and took down Robert Roode. Chairs were flying as the two brawled on the floor. Booker was all over Roode for the most part. Roode tried to fight back, but was scooped up and catapulted into the ring post, drawing first blood. After the match, Booker continued to beat down on Roode.

Winner Via Drawing First Blood - Booker T

Crystal was shown with Riesha Saeed and The Awesome Kong. Saeed said that it didn't matter which TNA Knockout won the vote, because they would be destroyed. On the flip side, Jeremy Borash stood by with Gail Kim and ODB and announced that ODB was the winner. Her and Kim shook hands and Kim told her to get the job done.

Match Four - TNA Knockouts Championship Match - The Awesome Kong w/ Riesha Saeed (C) vs. ODB

ODB put up quite a fight, but was overmatched once again by The Awesome Kong, who hit her with a wicked backfist and finished her with a Kong Bomb.

Winner Via Pinfall and STILL TNA Knockouts Champion - The Awesome Kong

In the back, Crystal caught up with Christian Cage, Kevin Nash, Rhino and Sting. They said that they were on the same page and they were going to take out Team Tomko.

Match Five - Eight Man Tag Team Match - Team Cage (Christian Cage, Sting, Kevin Nash and Rhino) vs. Team Tomko (Tomko, AJ Styles, Brother Ray and Brother Devon)

This was a great main event, that turned into an all out brawl with both teams charging at one another. The ring was cleared out, as Sting caught Brother Devon and sank in the Scorpion Deathlock, as Kevin Nash and Christian Cage held Team Tomko at bay until Devon tapped. As Team Cage celebrated, James Storm ran out and hit Sting with a beer bottle. The rest of Team Tomko hit the ring and beat down Team Cage to reveal James Storm as the fifth and final member of their Lockdown team. The return of Jeff Jarrett at Lockdown? Probably.

Winners Via Submission - Team Cage (Christian Cage, Sting, Kevin Nash and Rhino)

Chris Sokol is from Long Island, NY and would like to congratulate TNA on their latest accomplishment.
