Impact: The elevation of Tomko continues
By CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

Lockdown is approaching, as TNA Impact prepares to go live for the first time in its history. On this edition, Sharmell makes her return to TNA, while Team Christian Cage provides Team Tomko with a big clue as to who will be joining forces with them for Lethal Lockdown. Plus the TNA Knockouts will be in action. All this and more on this edition of Impact!

Jeremy Borash kicked off the show by hyping the return of Sharmell, Kurt Angle's public workout and AJ Styles' surprise guest. Mike Tenay and Don West finished up the job by hyping the rest of the card and pitching it to the return of Sharmell.

Booker T came out dressed to the nines to welcome back his wife, Sharmell. He talked about getting revenge on Robert Roode, which in turn brought out Roode and Payton Banks. Roode ran down Booker and Sharmell, which brought out Jim Cornette and Matt Morgan. The duo attempted to settle things down, but ultimately riled Booker up, when Cornette announced that it would be a tag team cage match at Lockdown, pitting Robert Roode and Payton Banks against Booker T and Sharmell. Booker was so angry and amped up that he wound up getting himself a match later on Impact against AJ Styles.

In the back, Crystal caught up with AJ Styles, who said that he wasn't happy about being put in a match against Booker T. He hyped his super special guest, as Team 3D and Johnny Devine walked in. The trio said that Styles was now part of their family and that they had his back. On the flip side, Jeremy Borash was shown with Kaz and Eric Young. Kaz spoke highly of Young who said that Super Eric was around and he felt safe. However, Young as himself, he was still scared of the monsters. Funny stuff.

Match One - Kaz and Eric Young vs. Scott Steiner and Petey Williams w/ Rakka Kahn

This was a pretty good opener. Kaz and Eric Young had things going their way, until the monsters came out and distracted Young, allowing Scott Steiner to hit the Samoan Drop on Young for the win. Steiner was still unhappy with Petey Williams' performance, which led to Williams being handcuffed and bagged once again.

Winners Via Pinfall - Scott Steiner and Petey Williams

Mike Tenay did a sit-down interview with Christian Cage and Rhino. They spoke about the history between Cage and Rhino and how Rhino's family was hurt by what Cage did to him. Rhino wanted to know how Cage was going to fix things and walked off.

Match Two - Rhino vs. Tomko

Back and forth match, with Rhino setting up for the Gore, but AJ Styles came out and got involved, allowing Tomko to gather his bearings and hit a lariat for the win. After the match, Earl Hebner found Styles hiding and started questioning him as to what his involvement was during the match. Styles and Tomko then turned their attention to a double team beatdown on Rhino. Christian Cage came out to even the odds and offered his hand to Rhino, to which Rhino accepted. Team 3D then ran down and began beating on Cage and Rhino, before Kevin Nash ran out with a steel chair to chase them off. Jim Cornette then came out and made a tag team main event, pitting Christian Cage and Rhino against Team 3D.

Winner Via Pinfall - Tomko

Footage was shown of the date between Jay Lethal and So Cal Val. Sonjay Dutt wound up being their waiter and was hitting on Val.

Match Three - X-Scape Qualifying Match - Sonjay Dutt vs. Homicide w/ Hernandez and Salinas

Sonjay Dutt faked an injury and wound up rolling up Homicide for the win. After the match, Dutt tried to make nice with LAX, but was beaten down and robbed. So Cal Val ran in and checked on Dutt.

Winner Via Pinfall - Sonjay Dutt

Crystal was shown in the back with Booker T and Sharmell. They talked about how unfair it was to place Sharmell inside the Steel Cage. Booker was upset, but he was focused on his match with AJ Styles and told Styles to bring his "A Game" to the table.

They showed some Rough Cuts footage of The James Gang, with Kip James talking about having to carry BG James. AJ Styles was then shown getting ready for his match. He had a seat reserved for his special guest, Princess Karen Angle.

Match Four - AJ Styles vs. Booker T w/ Sharmell

This was a good match. Robert Roode came out and distracted Booker T early on, but in the end, Payton Banks ran out and attacked Sharmell. AJ Styles got worried that Karen Angle was going to get caught in the crossfire and took his eyes off Booker T long enough for Booker to roll him up for the win. After the match, Styles looked for Karen Angle, but she was gone.

Winner Via Pinfall - Booker T

In the back, Crystal was with Riesha Saeed and The Awesome Kong. Saeed continued to talk about Kong's dominance.

Match Five - ODB and Gail Kim vs. Angelina Love and Velvet Sky

This match eventually broke down and went in the favor of ODB and Gail Kim, as ODB was able to execute her running powerslam and get the pinfall victory. It was announced that on the next edition of Impact, there would be a vote for Awesome Kong's opponent. After the match, Roxxie Laveaux came out and chased Angelina Love and Velvet Sky.

Winners Via Pinfall - ODB and Gail Kim

Jeremy Borash was in the back and spoke with Kurt Angle who was getting ready for his public workout. He said that he was prepared and ready to defeat Samoa Joe at Lockdown. A package was then shown of Samoa Joe working out and getting ready for his match. MMA Fighter Marcus Davis added comments in throughout the package.

Kurt Angle came out for his public workout and absolutely demolished his four victims, busting the last one open with a wicked headbutt. Angle grabbed a mic and told Joe to keep working hard, because he was ready for him. Frank Trigg was hyped for the next edition of Impact.

Jeremy Borash was in the back with Team Tomko, who told Team Cage that they wouldn't survive Lethal Lockdown. A promo was then shown to hype the return of Consequences Creed on April 10. After that, a history of Christian Cage and Rhino was shown.

Match Six - Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon) vs. Christian Cage and Rhino

Solid back and forth main event. Johnny Devine tried to get involved, but was taken out by Christian Cage. Rhino was able to connect with a Gore, but Tomko interfered and caused a disqualification. AJ Styles came down and also went on the attack. Kevin Nash tried to make the save, but was taken out by Team 3D. Shark Boy, Curry Man and The Motor City Machine Guns also tried to help, but were destroyed by Team 3D. Team Tomko was running things, until the lights went out and Sting's music hit. Team Tomko looked around for Sting as Mike Tenay and Don West announced that he would be on the next edition of Impact.

Winner Via Disqualification - Christian Cage and Rhino

Chris Sokol is from Long Island, NY and wants to extend his wishes for a Happy Easter.
