Impact: Lethal Lockdown begins to take shape
By CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

Destination X was another solid outing for TNA, which saw the new and improved "Christian Coalition" topple The Angle Alliance. On this edition of Impact, members from both teams will square off in a tag team main event, when AJ Styles and Tomko take on Christian Cage and Kevin Nash. All this and more on Impact!

The show began with the usual recap. Inside the Impact Zone, Jim Cornette was standing in the ring ready to announce a double main event for Lockdown. The first half was announced as a TNA Heavyweight Championship Cage Match between Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle. Cornette then announced the second half as being a Lethal Lockdown match with Christian Cage and Tomko as the team captains. Cage and Tomko came out and bickered back and forth, while Cornette said that they had two weeks to assemble their teams. After some banter and harsh exchanges, the two began to brawl. AJ Styles ran out and helped Tomko beat on Cage, until Kevin Nash ran out and made the save.

In the back, Jeremy Borash caught up with Karen Angle, who said she wasn't going to drop her bombshell until after Kurt Angle's match. Crystal on the other hand was with Scott Steiner, Petey Williams and Rhaka Kahn. Steiner told Williams that he needed to bring something to the table and he needed to beat Curry Man if he wanted to qualify for an X Division Title shot at Lockdown. Williams asked if he could share his title shot, but to no avail. Joel "Truck" Anderson was shown in the crowd.

Match One - "Maple Leaf Muscle" Petey Williams w/ Rhaka Khan vs. Curry Man

This was a fairly solid match-up. The end came when Petey Williams inadvertently ran into Rhaka Kahn, who was on the apron. This knocked Williams off his game and allowed Curry Man to hit a bridged Northern Lights Suplex for the win. After the match, Scott Steiner came down with a blindfold and some handcuffs. Wow.

Winner Via Pinfall - Curry Man

Jeremy Borash was shown in the back with Jim Cornette, who offered Christian Cage a tag match against AJ Styles and Tomko with a partner of his choosing. Team 3D then barged in and talked about beating down TNA and sinking the ship. They also mentioned beating on reality stars. Apparently something is being set up with Joel "Truck" Anderson.

A package was then shown highlighting the history of Samoa Joe in TNA. Joe then came out wearing a suit and said that he is finally getting a fair shot at the TNA Heavyweight Championship. He said that if he loses at Lockdown, he won't be back in TNA and that the next time he enters the Impact Zone, it will be with gold.

Crystal was with Christian Cage, who asked Rhino to be his partner; however Rhino declined.

Match Two - Rellik and Black Reign vs. The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin)

Rellik and Black Reign got a lot of offense in on this one, just beating down on The Motor City Machine Guns. After Alex Shelley was sent to the floor, Chris Sabin ate a Stun Gun and huge lariat for the pinfall victory. After the match, Black Reign called out Super Eric, who arrived and cleaned house on Rellik and Reign.

Winners Via Pinfall - Rellik and Black Reign

Jeremy Borash and AJ Styles were in the back together, when Karen Angle grabbed a hold of Styles and began flirting with him again. Tomko came in after Angle left and yelled at Styles for his actions.

Match Three - Kurt Angle vs. Kaz

This was an great match. Kaz continues to impress in TNA. Lots of back and forth action that resulted in Kurt Angle locking in the Ankle Lock and forcing Kaz to tap out. After the match, Angle grabbed the mic and called out Samoa Joe. Karen Angle came out and said that she wanted a separation. Kurt said that it was a great idea, because it gave him more time to focus on Joe. He told her to take the kids. Karen was upset with Kurt's response, but Kurt was still focused on his title defense at Lockdown.

Winner Via Submission - Kurt Angle

A package was shown to highlight the ongoing feud between BG James and Kip James.

In the back, Crystal caught up with the Rock N Rave Infection, who said that they were going to take out LAX.

The Detroit Tigers were shown sitting in the front row. Cool.

Match Four - Six Person Intergender Tag Team Match - Rock N Rave Infection (Lance Hoyt and Jimmy Rave) and Christy Hemme vs. LAX (Homicide and Hernandez) and Salinas

This was a good back and forth match that saw Homicide and Jimmy Rave mix it up, while Lance Hoyt and Hernandez did battle. In the end, Rave slid in one of the guitars to Christy Hemme, who used it to knock out Salinas and get the win.

Winners Via Pinfall - Rock N Rave Infection (Lance Hoyt and Jimmy Rave) and Christy Hemme

They recapped the Jay Lethal/So Cal Val date that was hijacked by Sonjay Dutt.

Crystal spoke with Angelina Love and Velvet Sky who were with Roxxie Laveaux. The duo grabbed Laveaux and got to work on making her over.

Jeremy Borash caught up with Gail Kim who said that her feud with The Awesome Kong was far from over.

Match Five - Gail Kim vs. Velvet Sky w/ Angelina Love

This was a good outing for Gail Kim, who was able to counter the offense of Velvet Sky. Angelina Love tried to get involved by distracting the referee, but in the end, it didn't matter, as Gail Kim was able to pick up the victory. After the match, Love and Sky double teamed Kim, as The Awesome Kong and Riesha Saeed came out. Kong beat on Kim, who fought back, until Saeed hit her from behind with the TNA Knockouts Championship belt. Kong then attempted a second Kong Bomb, but ODB ran out with a chair as Kong slowly backed down.

Winner Via Pinfall - Gail Kim

Crystal was once again with Christian Cage who was still looking for a partner. Kevin Nash then stepped up to the plate and offered to be Cage's partner.

Match Six - AJ Styles and Tomko vs. Christian Cage and Kevin Nash

This was a solid main event. Christian Cage and Kevin Nash had things going their way, until Team 3D ran out and caused a disqualification. They helped Styles and Tomko by beating down on Nash and Cage. Cage tried to fight back, but the numbers game was too much. Steel chairs were brought into play, as the knee of Nash was destroyed. Team 3D then confronted Joel "Truck" Anderson and beat him down to round out another edition of Impact.

Winners Via Disqualification - Christian Cage and Kevin Nash
