Mayweather a Show stopper?
By TIM BAINES - Ottawa Sun

The Big Show stares down at Floyd Mayweather at No Way Out.

Floyd Mayweather has long been considered the world's best pound-for-pound fighter.

At 5-foot-8, 155-or-so lbs., he'll soon step into the ring against the 7-foot, 400-lb. Big Show, presumably at next month's Wrestlemania. Craziness? Hey, this is wrestling.

Mayweather poked his nose into last Sunday's No Way Out pay-per-view, saving Rey Mysterio from the hands of The Big Show, who was returning after more than a year away from WWE.

Mayweather landed a couple of punches that didn't seem pulled, bloodying The Big Show's nose.

"Pro wrestling is for real. My little sons got me into wrestling," Mayweather told the Grand Rapids Press. "Big Show grabs Rey and tries to chokeslam him. So I got in there, hit Big Show in the face, and broke the guy's nose."

The current WBC welterweight champion, Mayweather has won six world titles in five different weight classes.

A rematch with Oscar De La Hoya is on tap for September. There are rumblings that De La Hoya was approached about getting involved in the Mayweather wrestling angle, but declined.

What'll WWE come up with for Mayweather-Big Show? They'll have to be creative. Mayweather won't agree to be knocked around. And burying The Big Show would be silly.

AROUND THE RING

The Undertaker and Triple H will fight for titles at Wrestlemania. The Undertaker won the ECW/Smackdown! Elimination Chamber match at No Way Out, while Triple H won the RAW version. Other results: Ric Flair (the first announced member of WWE's 2008 Hall of Fame class) beat Mr. Kennedy; Chavo Guerrero beat CM Punk; Edge beat Rey Mysterio and John Cena beat Randy Orton by DQ ... With Finlay handcuffed to the ropes, JBL beat the livin' bejeezus out of Hornswoggle in a cage on RAW.
