Impact: Three-way tag title defense
By CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

This week on Impact, the Robert Roode/Ms. Brooks saga continues, Shark Boy gets "Stone Cold," and in the Main Event, AJ Styles and Tomko defend their TNA Tag Team Championships against both Team 3D and The Motor City Machine Guns. All that and more on this edition of Impact!

A recap of last week's edition of Impact was shown. Back in Jim Cornette's office, Cornette was complaining about management giving him heat. He announced that Johnny Devine would take on Jay Lethal for the TNA X Division Championship. Team 3D ran in, made fun of Crystal and Jim Cornette and demanded a TNA Tag Team Championship match, so Cornette made official the three way Main Event for the TNA Tag Team Championship.

Mike Tenay and Don West then welcomed us to the show as Kevin Nash made his way into the Impact Zone. Nash got on the mic and said that Jim Cornette needed to come out and make things right, becuase Samoa Joe got screwed last week. Matt Morgan came out and ran down Nash, claiming that he was the new giant in TNA. Samoa Joe ran out and took out Morgan and said that he would show Jim Cornette later on what he is all about. He and Nash then hugged.

Jeremy Borash was in the back and hyped up the 2007 Awards. Kurt Angle was upset and said that the Angle Alliance had business they needed to take care of. He said that they needed to have a sit down with Tomko. AJ Styles said it wouldn't go down, but Karen Angle told him that if he did this favor, she would do a favor for him later. Crystal was in the back with Christian Cage. She asked him about the MVP award and he asked if he should have a speech ready. He then went on to say that he respects Tomko and he said if he had to make a decision, he would make it on his own terms.

Match One - Robert Roode and James Storm w/ Ms. Banks and Jackie Moore vs. Eric Young and Sonjay Dutt

This was a pretty good match. It eventually broke down, with Robert Roode being able to hit the Payoff for the win. After the match, Ms. Brooks ran down and beat on Ms. Banks, while Roode and Eric Young separated them.

Winners Via Pinfall - Robert Roode and James Storm

Crystal was in the back with Booker T and she asked about Sharmell, only to be blown off.

Jeremy Borash and So Cal Val were in the ring to announce the winner of the 2007 TNA X Division Wrestler of the Year. The finalists were, Kaz, Chris Sabin and Jay Lethal. They announced the winner as Jay Lethal. Lethal came out and Val gave him a kiss. Lethal then went into serious mode and vowed to destroy Team 3D and Johnny Devine. Mike Tenay and Don West then followed that up with some hype. Crystal was then shown in the back with Dark Reign, who said that he knew Kaz had Misty and he wanted her back. Samoa Joe showed up and beat down Reign, Kaz then came by and stole the Darkness Falls weapon and Dark Reign's wig. Highlights were then shown of Shark Boy's transformation.

Match Two - Elix Skipper vs. Stone Cold Shark Boy

Shark Boy went into full "Stone Cold Mode," stomping a mud hole and hitting the Shark Boy Stunner for the win. Shark Boy then grabbed the mic, did a Stone Cold esq. promo and drank some clam juice. Wow.

Winner Via Pinfall - Stone Cold Shark Boy

Jeremy Borash and So Cal Val then announced the 2007 TNA Knockout of the Year. The finalists were, Gail Kim, Ms. Brooks and Christy Hemme. The winner was, Gail Kim. Kim came out and talked about how The Awesome Kong didn't finish her yet. Kong came out with her advisor and went to work on Kim, until ODB came out and eventually fought her off. Crystal was in the back with Kurt Angle and Tomko. Angle tried to push over a ton of perks including his wife to Tomko, saying that she wasn't some stripper, but Tomko wanted none of it and attacked Angle. Back from the commercial break, and the brawl had made it's way to the ring. Security broke things up and Angle grabbed the mic. He again called Tomko's wife a stripper and challenged him to a match on the next edition of Impact. They then continued to brawl.

In the back, Crystal was with Team 3D and Johnny Devine who said they were taking gold to Against All Odds.

Match Three - TNA X Division Championship Street Fight - Jay Lethal (C) vs. Johnny Devine

This was a pretty good match. Jay Lethal had things in firm control and would have had the match won, but Team 3D came out and pulled out the referee. Brother Ray came in and laid out Lethal, then put Devine on top for the cover and the win. Samoa Joe ran out after the match, chasing away Team 3D and then beating on Devine.

Winner Via Pinfall and NEW TNA X Division Champion - Johnny Devine

Mike Tenay was with Abyss who said that he was ashamed that James Mitchell was his father. He then challenged Judas Mesias to Barbed Wire Massacre II at Against All Odds. Next up was the presentation of the Memorable Moment of the Year. The nominations were, Booker T and Sharmell debuting, Kurt Angle winning all the titles and Sting winning the TNA Heavyweight Championship. The winning moment was, Booker T and Sharmell coming to TNA. Jeremy Borash and Kendal Gill of Pros vs. Joes presented the award after some Pros vs. Joes banter. Booker talked about Sharmell and was then joined on the screen by Robert Roode who told Booker that it was his fault what happened. They replayed the injury and Roode told Booker to get home to Sharmell and to send his best.

Crystal was in the back with "Bullet" Bob Armstong and BG James who said they were going into some heavy training.

Match Four - The Rock and Rave Infection w/ Christy Hemme vs. Tiger Mask and Curry Man

Jimmy Rave, Lance Hoyt and Christy Hemme came out like rockers and Hemme did a mic check on her headset mics. Well, Curry Man has arrived. This was a good match that Tiger Mask was able to secure with a diving head butt.

Winners Via Pinfall - Tiger Mask and Curry Man

Footage was shown of Brock Lesnar training and Kurt Angle put him over as the real deal. Next up, the 2007 TNA MVP of the Year. The nominees were, Kurt Angle, Christian Cage and Samoa Joe. Samoa Joe won and came out to talk about getting screwed out of a title shot. Jeremy Borash mentioned that he got a shot and lost, only to get laid out by Joe. Jim Cornette ran out to stop the madness, as Joe destroyed the trophy. Kevin Nash came out to mediate. Cornette told Joe that if he was the special enforcer for the TNA Heavyweight Championship match at Against All Odds, he would get a title shot at Destination X. Kevin Nash whispered something to Joe, who told Cornette that he wanted a five year contract and for every year he is in TNA, he gets 15% more than Kurt Angle. Cornette agrees and says he will have the deal set for the next edition of Impact. Joe and Nash then celebrated.

In the back, Crystal caught up with Tomko and AJ Styles. Styles apologized for Kurt Angle and Tomko said he would deal with him later and said that Styles was becoming a problem for him too.

Match Five - TNA Tag Team Championship Three Way Dance - AJ Styles and Tomko w/ Karen Angle (C) vs. Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon) vs. The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin)

AJ Styles' crown was on a podium as he came out. This was another solid main event. AJ Styles was sent into Karen Angle during the match and she was knocked out. He tagged himself out of the match and carried Angle to the back, leaving Tomko to fend for himself, which he did and picked up the win with a Clothesline on Brother Devon. After the match, AJ Styles came out and went to celebrate with Tomko, but he was shoved away, as Christian Cage came out on the ramp, clapping and smiling.

Winners Via Pinfall and STILL TNA Tag Team Champions - AJ Styles and Tomko

The Impact Recap then played to round out another edition of Impact.
