Tonight on ECW on Sci-Fi: The World Heavyweight Champion makes his
long-awaited debut in the Land of Extreme as he brings his show, "The
Cutting Edge," to ECW! Should be a good one!
And we are LIVE! from true Hardcore Country -- Birmingham, Ala.! Let's go
right to the ring for our feature attraction...
Tony Chimel gives Edge a hero's introduction as the World Heavyweight
Champion makes his way to the ring for The Cutting Edge. Edge basks in all
his ECW glory (a sound chorus of boos). He says is really excited to be on
ECW tonight and is also excited for the Royal Rumble and his match against
Rey Mysterio. The large contingent of youth in the crowd chant "619". Edge
claims it won't happen to him. He shoots us to a video package of Smackdown!
last week as to why it won't.
He blabbers some more about Mysterio and then starts to introduce his
next guest, who he claims has butterflies in his stomach. His guest is the
ECW World Champion, CM Punk.
Edge says it's a pleasure to have Punk on the show. Punk returns the
favor.
They exchange some more pleasantries before Edge cuts straight to the
bone by asking Punk who he's defeated since becoming ECW Champion. This
leads to Punk saying he could beat Chavo Guerrero anytime. Edge says that's
a bold statement. Punk has another one for him: He can beat Edge, too.
This elicits a loud "CM Punk" cheer as Edge gets angered. He says he'll
let that one slide. Punk says he didn't say it to make Edge laugh. He says
that this isn't Smackdown!, it's his show.
Before things get any more heated, Chavo Guerrero interrupts the
proceedings.
Chavo challenges Punk for a third time for later in the night. Punk says
it's on. With that, Chavo pie-faces Punk into Edge and the two start to lay
a beatdown on the champ, repeatedly ramming Punk into the ring post.

Backstage, Edge is walking toward the exit.
Match #1 - John Morrison (Los Angeles, Calif.) & The Miz (Cleveland,
Ohio) vs. The Highlanders (Oban, Scotland)
Ummm, when did I miss this trade? I'm sure they will go straight from RAW
job boys to ECW contenders.
I missed much of the match due to technical difficulties, but I did Miz
hit the Reality Check on Robbie for the win. Move along, nothing to see
here.
Winners via pinfall: John Morrison & The Miz
Hey, Kofi Kingston is coming! Oh, hey, IT'S NEXT WEEK! Yay!

Back from break and Kelly Kelly comes out to the ring in a robe and grabs
a mic.
She says ECW will be in HD next week and we will get to find out which
ECW diva has the best body. She then reveals her body.
A quick, informative graphic informs us that it'll be a "Best Body
Contest" between Kelly Kelly, Layla and Lena Yada.
Before Kelly can even get up the ramp, Tazz brings in Colin Delaney, the
young lad who has been destroyed by Shelton Benjamin, Big Daddy V and Mark
Henry the last three weeks.
Suffice to say, Delaney is bandaged up quite nicely. He is here to fight
another week. Tazz tells him he is about to go head-to-head with a former
WWE Champion.
Match #2 - Colin Delaney (Rochester, NY) vs. Kane (Hell, Fire &
Brimstone)
The look on poor Colin's face when the pyro hit was priceless. Colin puts
his fists up and Kane promptly boots him in the head. A few moves later,
Kane hits the choke slam for the fall.
Winner via pinfall: Kane
You know what, this angle is really amusing me. I love how every week
they have Tazz feed him to the wolves and him just coming back for more.
It's hilarious to see him get destroyed every week. It'll just make the
inevitable week when he pulls off a freak roll-up ever the more sweeter.
Good job, ECW!
ECW General Manager Armando Estrada asks Punk if he'll be able to go
tonight. Punk says he'll be there.

Now we get an update on both WWE Champion Randy Orton and
Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy.
Joey Styles says Orton suffered back and neck trauma while Hardy
staggered out of the medical facility before receiving treatment. Ooooh,
that Jeff Hardy, such a badass.
Match #3 - Shelton Benjamin (Orangeburg, SC) vs. Nunzio (Rockland
County, NY)
This is another glorified squash. Benjamin wins following the inverted
bulldog that former ECW writer Matt Mackinder claims was stolen from TNA's
Judas Mesias. Move along, nothing to see here.
Winner via pinfall: Shelton Benjamin
Post match, Shelton grabs a mic, says there ain't no stoppin' him
NAHHHHHHH and gives poor Nunzio another inverted bulldog.

Match #4 - CM Punk (Chicago, Ill.) vs. Chavo Guerrero (El Paso,
Tx)
Once again, if Guerrero wins, he will
Punk is still favoring his left shoulder from the attack by Edge and
Guerrero earlier tonight.
Even though it appeared that Edge left the arena, his music fires up and
he saunters down to the ring and joins Styles and Tazz on commentary. I'd
say things aren't looking up for Punk right now.
Punk opens up with some kicks and eventually throws Chavo over the top
rope and onto the floor.

Back from break and Chavo is working over that left shoulder. Punk goes
for some offense but is quickly hit in the shoulder and Guerrero regains
control.
Chavo goes to some mat-based offense on the shoulder and works on the
shoulder relentlessly. Edge says that when Chavo isolates a body part and
works on it, you'll feel it for weeks, even months.
Guerrero is just mauling Punk here, but Punk starts to fire up with some
kicks, dropkicks and the like all using one arm. Punk makes an ill-advised
trip to the top rope and is knocked to the outside by Chavo. Edge sees this,
Chavo distracts the ref, Edge cracks Punk with the belt and that's all she
wrote.
Winner via countout: Chavo Guerrero
Chavo Guerrero is the new No. 1 Contender for the ECW Championship.
