Impact: Booker and Christian team up
By CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

After last week's Holiday Gimmick Festival, TNA gets back to business this week on Impact. Judas Mesias makes his in-ring return, Samoa Joe does battle with Elix Skipper, the Knockouts are in action and AJ Styles is forced to make a decision as to whose side he is on, Kurt Angle's or Christian Cage's. All this and much more on this edition of Impact.

A package was shown to start the show, that featured the implosion of the Christian Coalition. Footage was shown of Crystal interviewing AJ Styles and Tomko earlier on. Styles said that he wanted to stay with both Kurt Angle and Christian Cage, but Tomko told him that it wouldn't work and that he had a decision to make. Mike Tenay and Don West then did their usual hype, leading to the opening squash match.

Match One - Judas Mesias w/ Father James Mitchell vs. Senshi

Judas Mesias took control of this one from the opening bell and didn't let up. Senshi missed the Warrior's Way and was met with a clothesline, before being sent "Straight to Hell."

Winner Via Pinfall - Judas Mesias

In the back, Jeremy Borash met up with Kurt and Karen Angle in the Angle's locker room. Kurt talked about AJ Styles and Tomko needing to make a decision, while Karen complained about Sharmell being in TNA.

Christian Cage came out and went on about how he was the biggest star in TNA and how TNA wasn't big enough for him and Kurt Angle. He then demanded that Tomko and AJ Styles come out and make their decisions. AJ Styles came out, as Cage questioned where Tomko was. Styles called Cage "Boss" and said that he would take a bullet for him. Cage went on about how everything Styles had was because of him and how Kurt Angle was only using Styles. Angle then came out and tried to plead his case to Styles, leading to a tug of war over Styles. A brawl between Cage and Angle ensued, that led to Styles getting knocked out with the TNA Heavyweight Championship belt, by Cage on accident. Tomko then ran out and broke up the fight, before checking on Styles. Cage then said that they had till the end of the night to make their decisions.

Robert Roode and Ms. Brooks continued their saga, as Roode was getting ready to take on Booker T. Roode told Brooks to shut up and listen to him. Karen Angle came out and attacked Sharmell. Booker tried to break up the fight, but was attacked from behind by Kurt Angle. Booker was able to roll out and grab a chair to fend off Roode and Angle. He then grabbed a mic and challenged them both to a tag team match with a partner of his choosing.

In the back, Jeremy Borash was with AJ Styles who was icing himself after getting cracked with the belt. JB reminded Styles that he had to make a decision, and that maybe he should get some advice from people he trusted. Styles asked JB's advice and he said to go with the Angle's. Styles still thought however, that they could all be one team together. A package was then shown to hype the Ultimate X match between Johnny Devine and Team 3D vs. Jay Lethal and The Motor City Machine Guns at Final Resolution.

Match Two - Non-Title Match - AJ Styles and Tomko vs. The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin)

This was a pretty good back and forth match. Tomko was taken out of the equation, and after some more back and forth battling, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin executed a double team pin on AJ Styles for the win. After the match, Styles and Tomko argued.

In Jim Cornette's office, Johnny Devine and Team 3D barged in and complained about being put in an Ultimate X match. Cornette said that they have been running wild for weeks and now the X Division can play on their home turf. Matt Morgan nearly gets into it with Devine and 3D, but they leave so they can eat some crab. A package was then shown for Gail Kim vs. The Awesome Kong in a No Disqualification match at Final Resolution.

Match Three - Gail Kim, Angelina Love and Velvet Sky vs. ODB, Roxxie Laveaux and Jackie Moore

This was a good match. The match ultimately broke down into an all out brawl, with Gail Kim countering a Dominator by Roxxie Laveaux and hitting her with the Korean Krunch for the win.

Crystal was in Jim Cornette's office, while Jim Cornette and Matt Morgan argued about Morgan's match making abilities. Cornette said that if he got fired, Morgan was going with him. Morgan let Cornette know that he got a letter with a Bonus Check because TNA Management was happy with last week's show. Samoa Joe walked into the office and protested wrestling on Impact. Cornette told Joe that he had the choice of either wrestling or going home, because he would be fired.

Mike Tenay sat down with Abyss earlier on. They reffered to him again as "Chris." They talked about Abyss' childhood and Abyss got angry. Tenay asked about the obsession with Father James Mitchell and the secret, and Abyss said that he would never tell and then walked out on the interview. Back at ringside, Mike Tenay and Don West discussed the interview and talked about how whacky the situation was getting.

Match Four - Samoa Joe vs. Elix Skipper

Samoa Joe came out in street clothes with a taped fist and absolutely destroyed Elix Skipper. he hit a Muscle Buster on Skipper and picked him up after a two count. Joe then put Skipper in a tree of woe and kicked him, as the referee tried to break it up. Joe then shoved the referee twice and was disqualified. Joe then continued to beat on Skipper and locked him the rear naked choke, as security ran down and broke it up. Joe then got on the mic and said that this was all Jim Cornette's fault. Joe said that he had a few things he wanted to say and at that point TNA turned his mic off. Good job running with this angle.

Winner Via Disqualification - Elix Skipper

In the back, AJ Styles was shown sitting down with Eric Young, while James Storm was shown laid out and drunk. Styles and Young discussed things, and Styles left more confused than he was before. Crystal was then shown with Scott Steiner and Petey Williams. Steiner told Williams that he double crossed him and that Williams should give him the TNA Heavyweight Championship shot. Williams said that he had the most defined body in TNA and that he would be the next TNA Heavyweight Champion.

Dustin Rhodes came out with TNA Security and continued to play along with the idea that he wasn't Black Reign. Kaz came out and confronted him, leading to a brawl that ended with Kaz diving and taking out Rhodes and security. In the back, AJ Styles met up with Kevin Nash and told him that he needed some help. Nash told Styles that he was in a good position, like back when there was an NWO Black and White and an NWO Black and Red. He said it's not about who you trust, it's about who will stab you in the back first.

After a commercial break, a highlight reel was shown, recapping the year 2007 for TNA.

Match Five - Booker T and Christian Cage vs. Kurt Angle and Robert Roode

Booker T came out and introduced Christian Cage as his partner. AJ Styles came out during the match to watch. The end came when Cage and Kurt Angle were brawling, Styles took a chair and was about to use it, when he threw it down and walked away. The match continued with Booker taking Angle out and then hitting Robert Roode with an Axe Kick. Roode then got hit with an Unprettier for the win.

Winners Via Pinfall - Booker T and Christian Cage

After the match, Christian Cage got on the mic and demanded that AJ Styles come back out and make his decision. Styles came back out and Cage demanded that he stay with him. Kurt Angle got back up and demanded that Styles stay with him, the two argued, while Styles covered his ears. The Impact Recap then played to round out another edition of Impact.
