Tonight on ECW on Sci-Fi: It's been an up-and-down year in the Land
of
Extreme. Tonight, it's the Best of ECW 2007. Should be a good one!
And we are TAPED! from the WWE Studios in Stamford, Ct. Our hosts,
as
always, are Joey Styles and Tazz and they are here to guide us through
some
of the best that ECW had to offer in 2007. I don't know if that's a
threat
or not.
Segment #1 - ECW Championship - Mr. McMahon (c) vs. Bobby
Lashley
They go over the entire feud in video package form start at
Backlash,
where Mr. McMahon captured the ECW Championship. From there, it was
onto
Judgment Day, where Lashley pinned Umaga in a handicap match, but
didn't win
the title because he didn't beat McMahon.
Finally, at One Night Stand, Lashley overcame the odds again to beat
Mr.
McMahon, Shane McMahon and Umaga, pinning Vince to become the
champ.
After finally beating McMahon, Lashley was drafted to RAW where he
was
promptly stripped of his ECW Championship.

Hey, Kofi Kingston is coming to ECW!
Segment #2 - The ECW Originals vs. The New Breed
Let's go back to WrestleMania, where (allegedly) over 80,000 fans
(including myself) packed Ford Field in Detroit where The ECW Originals
took
on The New Breed.
Despite being physically outgunned, the Originals pulled out the win
with
a DDT from Tommy Dreamer followed by a Five-Star Frog Splash by Rob Van
Dam.
Two days later on ECW on Sci-Fi, the two groups met again, but this
time
it was under Extreme Rules. This was one of the show's best matches of
the
year.
This time around, it was The New Breed that got the upper hand,
beating
the Originals at their own game.
These eight men put it all on the line, pulling out everything but
the
kitchen sink and beating each other from pillar to post but it was
Elijah
Burke viciously putting Sabu through a table with the Elijah Express
that
earned The New Breed the victory.
WIth that, we get a video package on Burke, who was anointed the new
face
of ECW by Mr. McMahon earlier in the year.

We're back and now we get a video package on the former ECW Champion
John
Morrison, who held the title from June until September.
Segment #3 - ECW Championship - John Morrison vs. CM Punk
Morrison (as Johnny Nitro) won the title at Vengeance: Night of
Champions
as a late replacement for Chris Benoit. We get a quick blip of that
match
and skip over the rest of their feud, which spanned the entire summer,
and
go to Punk's final chance on ECW on Sci-Fi in early September, where he
finally captured the title in a back-and-forth match.

Now, for the first time ever on "free" TV, it's CM Punk defending
the ECW
Championship in a Triple Threat Match at Survivor Series against John
Morrison and The Miz (HOO-RAH!) which we join in progress.
This was an extremely fast-paced, back and forth affair. Morrison
and Miz
tried to use their alliance against Punk but it ended up dissolving
rather
quickly. The finish came when Miz ran into Morrison on the apron and
fell
right into the GTS. Punk retains once again!

Segments #4 & #5 - Things You Couldn't Care Less About
Now it's onto a video package of the biggest piece of worthless flab
in
WWE, Big Daddy V. The meat on his body could feed a third-world country
for
an entire year.
Styles and Tazz proceed to slobber all over the pairing of Big Daddy
V
and Mark Henry and then go into the ECW/Smackdown! Talent Exchange
which has
brought many a talent to the Land of Extreme. Tazz is a big fan. Why am
I
not surprised?
Highlighting the talent exchange is Morrison and Miz winning the WWE
Tag
Team Championship from MVP and Matt Hardy.
But all three brands united for the Tribute to the Troops, which,
although just one day old, gets a video package on the Best of ECW
2007. OK?
I'll go back to perusing the Best Buy ad.

Hey, it's a video package for Kane!!!!! I feel like I've just downed
an
entire bottle of NyQuil.
Just nine days ago at Armageddon, Kane and CM Punk took on The
World's
Fattest Men - Big Daddy V and Mark Henry, in which the flabby ones won
after
Big Flabby hit Punk with a Samoan Drop.
That leads us to Punk taking on MVP last week, where the ECW
Champion had
another tough night, getting beat up by MVP after a disqualification
and
then even worse by a returning Chavo Guerrero, who hit the Three Amigos
and
the Frog Splash on Punk.
Then, Tazz aplogizes to Styles for treating him like a dog all year.
Tazz
says he has a gift for Styles under the Extreme Tree. When Styles bends
down
to inspect the gift, Tazz gives him a big boot to the bottom, sending
him
through the tree and to the ground. We end the year with Styles
moaning,
"The tree stand caught me right in the Mahoney's!" HA! Classic.
Thanks for reading everybody! See you next year and be sure to root
on
the Michigan State football team in the Champs Sports Bowl against
Boston
College on Friday! Go Green!
