Impact: Who poses as Rudolph?
By CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

TNA has jumped into the holiday spirit for a Holiday edition of Impact, complete with Christmas party and all. On top of a Knockouts Mele and a Monsters Ball esq. encounter, in the Main Event, AJ Styles takes on Kaz in a Ladder match, with the loser having to dress up like a reindeer. Will Styles avenge his loss in the Turkey Bowl, or will embarassment once again plague him? Read the report and find out.

The show began with some hype and a look at the Christmas Party Eric Young was throwing at his house. One of the Bushwhackers showed up and Jeremy Borash went into Bushwhacker mode, doing the trademark strut all over the house. In the Impact Zone, Matt Morgan was in the ring in some decorated case, and stated that he was in charge, as Jim Cornette left for an early Christmas vacation. He wished the TNA fans a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and said to get the show rolling.

Match One - Eight Man Tag Team Match - Jimmy Rave, Lance Hoyt, Robert Roode and James Storm w/ Jackie Moore, Christy Hemme and Ms. Brooks vs. Scott Steiner, Booker T and LAX (Homicide and Hernandez) w/ Sharmell

This one boiled down into an all out brawl, with the Mystery LAX member running out and chasing Christy Hemme away, while in the ring, Booker T hit the Book End on Jimmy Rave for thewin.

Winners Via Pinfall - Scott Steiner, Booker T and LAX (Homicide and Hernandez)

Back at the Christmas Party, Angelina Love and Velvet Sky showed up and started getting close with Eric Young. ODB then showed up looking for the bar. Young continued to wait for Santa Claus, when The Awesome Kong showed up and scared him. Back in the Impact Zone, Team 3D came out dressed in Santa Suits, with Johnny Devine playing their elf. Team 3D called out the X Division to apologize for their antics. Out came a Mini Jay Lethal, followed by a mini duo that resembled the Motor City Machine Guns. Team 3D had fun with them, with little Lethal asking for a night with So Cal Val. Brother Ray gave him a five dollar bill and told him to bring back the change. After making fun of the midgets and the X Division, Team 3D led an attack and went to beat them down, when the real Jay Lethal and the real Motor City Machine Guns ran out and made the save. Chris Sabin then grabbed the mic and said that since they were all booked for a match already, they should just have it right then and there.

Match Two - Double North Pole Match - Johnny Devine and Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon) vs. Jay Lethal and The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin)

One stocking had a Tables Match and the other stocking had an Ultimate X match. This was a good match, but it was just clustered. The midgets got involved and cost Johnny Devine and Team 3D the match, as Alex Shelley was able to break away from the pack and grab the Ultimate X match stocking.

Winners Via Grabbing The Ultimate X Match Stocking - Jay Lethal and The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin)

Back at the Christmas party, the pair of hunters that were there tried to talk to Awesome Kong, only to get knocked out for their troubles. Kevin Nash showed up with some booze and was offered some servicing from Angelina Love and Velvet Sky. Mayhem ensues and a food fight breaks out. Back from a commercial break, and Kurt and Karen Angle have arrived. Eric Young offered to service Kurt who turned down his request. Young was still waiting for Santa Claus and that did not sit well with Kurt, who went on a tirade about how Santa Claus was a lot like Shrek. Young took it that he meant Santa and Shrek were the same person and somehow Spiderman was involved in Christmas as well. The Angles then requested alcohol to get through the party.

Match Three - Santa's Little Helper Match - ODB vs. Roxxie Laveaux vs. Jackie Moore vs. Christy Hemme vs. Ms. Brooks vs. The Awesome Kong vs. Velvet Sky vs. Angelina Love vs. Gail Kim

Gail Kim and The Awesome Kong went at it and fought all the way to the back, while the other Knockouts duked it out in the ring. Kong emerged from the back, with no Gail Kim in sight. She then dominated all the Knockouts in the ring and finished off Christy Hemme with the Kong Bomb. After the match, Gail Kim ran out with a steel chair and went to work on Kong, until security stepped in and separated them. Good stuff.

Winner Via Pinfall - The Awesome Kong

Back at the Christmas party, more stars arrived, including Chris Harris, The Motor City Machine Guns, Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt, So Cal Val and the midgets. So Cal Val brought some misletoe and was going to kiss Lethal, when Dutt stepped in and stole the kiss away. In the backstage area, Crystal caught up with Samoa Joe who was shown arriving during the intros of the Knockouts match. She asked Samoa Joe if he was going to the Christmas party and he said that maybe instead of having a Christmas party, they should do something to boost his salary. He got hot and cold with his attitude towards Crystal and said that he was going to go to the party and make sure it was one that Matt Morgan wasn't going to forget.

A package was then shown highlighting the feud between Abyss, Father James Mitchell and Judas Mesias.

Match Four - Silent Night, Bloody Night Match - Rellik vs. Abyss vs. Shark Boy vs. Black Reign w/ Misty

This was another all out brawl, with barbed wire baseball bats, a barbed wire Christmas tree, broken glass and thumbtacks being brought into play. James Mitchell came out and cost Abyss the win, allowing Abyss to become distracted, and when the lights went out and came back on, Judas Mesias was waiting for him. Abyss got planted with the Straight to Hell on the Thumbtacks, taking him out of the match. Rellik then laid Shark Boy out and picked up the win. Uh...what? Okay, interesting.

Winner Via Pinfall - Rellik

Back at the Christmas party, Samoa Joe ran in and confronted Matt Morgan. He complained about his contract and told Morgan that he and Jim Cornette better do something to rectify the situation. He then tore apart the party and wished everyone a very sarcastic Happy Holidays. Back from a commercial break, with Jeremy Borash and Eric Young sitting in the mess that was the party. Young was convinced that Santa was going to come and save the day, while Borash tried to remind him of what Kurt Angle said earlier. Just as Borash was about to say that Santa wasn't real, Santa Claus arrived and saved the day much to Borash's surprise.

Match Five - Reindeer Ladder Match - AJ Styles vs. Kaz

This was a good back and forth main event, with AJ Styles and Kaz going at it. Both men made several attempts to grab the reindeer suit, however, when Kurt Angle came out to ringside to lend his support to Styles, Styles became distracted and this allowed Kaz to knock him off the ladder and retrieve the suit for the win.

Winner Via Grabbing The Reindeer Suit - Kaz

After the match, the referees came down and made sure that AJ Styles put the Reindeer suit on. Kurt Angle then sent AJ Styles to the back and told him that he was disgrace. Eric Young then led Santa Claus out to the Impact Zone, as Angle stood in the ring in utter shock. Santa threw out all sorts of TNA goodies, before reaching Kurt. Kurt said that he wanted Christian Cage, and he was going to show Santa what he was going to do to Cage. Kurt then clotheslined Santa, when out from one of the big boxes at ringside came Christian Cage, who went after Kurt. Kurt bailed and opted to wait for their NWA Heavyweight Championship match at Final Resolution. The Impact Recap then played to round out another edition of Impact.

Chris Sokol is from Long Island, NY and has a nice Christmas Tree displayed in his den, complete with Multi-Colored and Bright Blue lights, on top of the many, many ornoments he and his family have accumulated. He would again like to extend his wishes for a safe, happy and healthy, Holiday Season.
