Tonight on ECW on Sci-Fi: The World Heavyweight Champion makes his first
foray into the Land of Extreme since August 2006 as he rematches Elijah
Burke in the main event. Should be a good one!
And we are LIVE! from Boston and tonight, we have World Heavyweight
Champion Batista taking on Elijah Burke and a 2-on-1 Handicap Match with
Kelly Kelly facing Layla and Victoria.
Match #1 - CM Punk (Chicago, Ill.) & Kane (Hell, Fire & Brimstone) vs.
Deuce & Domino (Other Side of the Tracks)
An interesting pairing here to start the show. I had already written down
Mark Henry and Big Daddy V as the faces were making their way to the
ring.
Punk and Kane work over Domino early with some nice teamwork but Domino
counters with knees to the gut when Punk goes for the springboard
clothesline and that turns the tables on the match as the former champions
cut the ring in half.
A miscue by D&D allows Punk to get the tag and Kane comes in on fire (no
pun intended?) and this leads to Kane hitting a chokeslam on one while Punk
hits GTS on the other. Good night!
Winners via pinfall: CM Punk & Kane
Coming up next: The WWE Tag Team Champions, John Morrison and The Miz
(HOO-RAH!) are in action!

Backstage, it's Shelton Benjamin and he's here to talk to us about gold. He
gives us a history lesson about the 1849 Gold Rush and how they'd dig and
dig and come up with fools gold. He says, unlike the 49ers, he attracts
gold. He'll continue to dig until he brings up the mother load. He is the
new gold standard in ECW.
Match #2 - John Morrison (Los Angeles, Calif.) & The Miz (Cleveland,
Ohio) vs. Jimmy Wang Yang (Austell, Ga.) & Shannon Moore (Whispering Pines,
NC)
Yang and Moore come out complete with cowboy hats. Hmmph. I had no idea
that a cowboy hat was punk these days.
This match is all Yang/Moore for the opening minutes. The speed of Yang
and Moore is the story as they just out-maneuver the champions using quick
tags and high energy to control the match. This culminates in Moore and Yang
hitting stereo moonsaults off the middle rope onto the outside. With all
four men down, let's go to...

Back from break and the match has taken a complete 180 as Morrison is in
control of Yang but not for long as Yang hits a back suplex and each man
gets the tag. Moore comes in and starts running all over the place but Miz
takes control by throwing Moore off the turnbuckle by his hair.
Now the champs are the ones making quick tags and working over Moore's
neck. Moore is still being worked over and finally get the tag to Yang who
hits a flying crossbody on Morrison and a monkeyflip that words cannot
describe (as it was awesome).
In all the excitement, Yang goes for a moonsault but Morrison moves and
Yang lands on his feet. After Morrison tries to get some illegal pinfalls,
he finally finds an opening for the Corkscrew Neckbreaker on Yang for the
three. Great match.
Winners via pinfall: John Morrison & The Miz
Match #3 - Handicap Match - Layla (Miami, Fla.) & Victoria (Los
Angeles, Calif.) vs. Kelly Kelly (Jacksonville, Fla.)
Layla starts out but quickly gives way to Victoria who commences a
beatdown on Kelly Kelly. With Kelly in a heap, Layla comes in to pick up the
scraps and she lays her own personal beatdown on Kelly including an ARMBAR.
But it's from the ARMBAR that Kelly fires up a tad, but when Layla sees
this, she goes running to Victoria for the tag.
The duo start to make quick tags. Kelly gets a little bit of hope but
it's quickly squashed by Victoria. She tags in Layla who hits a big boot the
head that puts Kelly down for good.
Winners via pinfall: Layla & Victoria
Post match, the duo put the boots to Kelly but Michelle McCool makes the
save and chases Victoria and Layla from the ring.

Backstage, Matt Striker can barely be seen as he talks up Big Daddy V and
Mark Henry. Big Flabby has a few words for Kane while Henry says some
not-so-nice things to Punk. Hey, at least they weren't wrestling.
Match #4 - Batista (Washington, DC) vs. Elijah Burke (Jacksonville,
Fla.)
Burke cuts a promo on Batista then we'll off to our last commercial
break.

Burke takes a walk early on but Batista outsmarts him and puts the boots to
him. Burke takes control with a hybrid Million Dollar Dream but Batista
powers out. After a tepid exchange, Burke lines Batista up for the Elijah Express but
Batista comes charging out of the corner and hits the spear followed by a
nasty Batista Bomb for the cover.
Winner via pinfall: Batista
I feel like I say this every week, but it wasn't a bad effort by any
means but it wasn't anything memorable. The main event was, to be nice, not
good, but the MorriMiz/Moore&Yang match was pretty good. See you next week,
gang!
