Impact: It's all about the briefcases
By CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

Turning Point can be summed up in one simple word: crazy. From no-shows to injuries, TNA experienced a plethora of issues, but still managed to pull off a decent PPV. Moving forward towards Impact, TNA looks to make up for some of the PPV mishaps with a main event of epic proportions.

BG James, Petey Williams, Scott Steiner and Senshi were shown arriving with the briefcases they won in the "Feast or Fire" match. Mike Tenay and Don West then did the usual hype and pitched it to ring to kick off Impact.

Match One - LAX (Homicide and Hernandez) vs. Black Reign and Rellik w/ Misty

This one started out as an all out brawl. Black Reign and Rellik were able to hang with LAX, but wound up getting out-stepped, as Homicide was able to avoid a spear from Rellik, who in turn hit the post and was rolled up for the win. After the match, Jimmy Rave, Lance Hoyt and Christy Hemme came down to beat on LAX. The Mystery Latina came out and attacked Hemme, but was grabbed by Rave and Hoyt who were run off by LAX.

Winners Via Pinfall - LAX (Homicide and Hernandez)

Crystal was with Matt Morgan and Jim Cornette in the office. Morgan had the briefcases locked up in a secret location and Cornette told him to make sure that they were safe. Team 3D and Johnny Devine came in and were told to give up the X Division Belt. Jay Lethal and The Motor City Machine Guns followed them in and Lethal said he wanted to win the belt back in a Six Man Ladder match. Cornette told them to work it out themselves. Mike Tenay and Don West then hyped the ladder match, as Kurt Angle, AJ Styles and Tomko came to the ring. Angle said that at Turning Point a mistake was made and he needed to make things right with Christian Cage, because they need one another. He then gave Cage an hour to meet him in the ring and settle things. In the back, Jeremy Borash was with Christian Cage. Cage said that Angle was begging him to come out. Robert Roode was there and said that there was power in numbers and Cage told him not to talk. He told Roode that he screwed up at Turning Point and then asked how many world titles he has won. He said none and that he wasn't AJ Styles. Cage said that AJ was smarter and that he would meet Angle later on.

Match Two - Gail Kim vs. ODB - non-title

Gail Kim entered the match injured from the beating she took at Turning Point. ODB took advantage of this and worked the injury to her favor. In the end, Kim was pulled off from punching ODB and while the ref wasn't looking, ODB hit her with her flask, knocking her out for the win. After the match, The Awesome Kong came down. ODB drank from her flask, but ran off. Kong went to Kong Bomb Kim, but it was reversed and the two brawled, until security broke it up.

Winner Via Pinfall - ODB

In the back, Crystal was with Matt Morgan and XXX. Christopher Daniels demanded the briefcase from Senshi, so Matt Morgan made a match between them and since Elix Skipper begged to be the guest referee, he was given his wife. Morgan was showing off his power for Crystal who asked if Jim Cornette should have been making the decisions, but he said he had the authority to do it.

Match Three - Winner Gets The Briefcase - Christopher Daniels vs. Senshi - Special Guest Referee - Elix Skipper

This was a pretty good match, with Christopher Daniels and Senshi battling back and forth. Senshi missed the Warriors Way and Elix Skipper got in the way of the Tidal Crush, allowing Daniels to connect with the Angel's Wings for the win. Skipper hesitated to make the count. Interesting twist to replace Senshi in the briefcase scenario.

Winner Via Pinfall - Christopher Daniels

Matt Morgan was in the back with VKM and he discussed how if BG James had a Tag Title shot in his case, he could pick any partner on the TNA roster he wanted. Roxxie Laveaux came in and said the case was cursed, but BG didn't seem to care. Mike Tenay did a sit down interview with James Mitchell who talked about Abyss and how his father tried to make him a success. Mike Tenay and Don West then ran down the rest of the show, as Kurt and Karen Angle, AJ Styles and Tomko made their way to the ring. They called out Christin Cage, who came out along with Robert Roode. Roode immediately said that he understood Angle and officially joined The Angle Alliance. Christian Cage then proceeded to run them all down and said they all needed him. He said he would align with them if he could be the leader, if they answered to him and if Angle admitted that Cage was better than him. They all shook and Styles hugged Cage, welcoming him to the Angle Alliance/Christian Coalition. Samoa Joe, Kevin Nash, Eric Young, Kaz, Booker T and Sharmell came out next and Joe challenged the Angle Alliance/Christian Coalition to a ten man tag match at Final Resolution, but Karen Angle accepted it as the Main Event of Impact. Karen and Sharmell got into a little bit of an argument and Sharmell brought up Kurt being a pervert back in the day and then a catfight ensued, with Booker and Kurt breaking it up.

In the back, Crystal was with Johnny Devine and Team 3D, who told her to shut up. They said they were going to recapture the X Division title and beat down Jay Lethal and The Motor City Machine Guns, because they take what they want. This prompted Brother Ray to kiss Crystal. Back from a commercial break, as Crystal and Matt Morgan were then together again, as they caught up with Scott Steiner, who said that he thought he had the case that contained a shot at the TNA Heavyweight Championship and said he would be back on top again. Crystal then told Morgan all the cases were gone, and Morgan said that it was okay, because he did his job and gave them to the winners.

Match Four - Ladder Match For The TNA X Division Championship Belt - Johnny Devine and Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon) vs. Jay Lethal and The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin)

This was an all out brawl, with both teams going back and forth. This match was for the possession of the belt and not for the actual rights of being the champion. Jay Lethal was able to reclaim the belt, but as he did, Brother Devon distracted the referee, and Brother Ray used a kendo stick on Lethal, knocking the belt from his grasp and giving it to Devine for the win.

Winners Via Grabbing The Belt - Johnny Devine and Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon)

More of the sit down interview with James Mitchell was shown, as Mitchell called out Abyss for the next edition of Impact and promised to reveal a secret that only they knew. Again? In the back, Crystal was with Jim Cornette and Matt Morgan, and told Cornette about all the stuff Morgan did, with booking the match for the briefcase and then giving the briefcases away. Cornette told Morgan he was idiot and said the cases were supposed to be opened on Impact and he sent Morgan to get the cases back. Cornette said that if "upstairs" called, they would both be in trouble, so Morgan ran out to get the cases. The eain event competitors then made their way out to the ring as TNA went to a commercial break.

Match Five - Ten Men Tag Team Match - Samoa Joe, Kaz, Eric Young, Kevin Nash and Booker T w/ Sharmell vs. Kurt Angle, Christian Cage, AJ Styles, Tomko and Robert Roode w/ Ms. Brooks

This was an excellent main event. Lots of back and forth action, with both sides reversing one another. After a miscommunication, that saw an Eric Young dropkick send Christian Cage into Robert Roode, Kevin Nash hit the Jacknife Powerbomb on Roode for the win. After the match, Roode and Cage argued, as Kurt Angle tried to break it up, starting a brawl. Angle then hit Cage with the TNA Heavyweight Championship belt and helped Roode in beating him down. AJ Styles tried to break it up as Tomko walked away. Angle then held Styles down, before locking in the Ankle Lock. Styles tried to save Cage, but the beatdown went on, as Cage was left laying.

Winners Via Pinfall - Samoa Joe, Kaz, Eric Young, Kevin Nash and Booker T

The Impact Recap then played to round out another edition of Impact.
