Impact: Samoa Joe and Cage fight for their rights
By CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

Sting reclaimed gold at Bound For Glory, when he defeated Kurt Angle in a tremendous main event, however, his feud with the Olympic Gold Medalist is far from over, as Angle's rematch clause is to be evoked on this edition of Impact. Also on tap, the Fight for the Right tournament kicks off to determine a new number one contender to the TNA Heavyweight Championship.

The show began with highlights of Bound For Glory, while in the back, Jeremy Borash met up with Kurt and Karen Angle. Kurt said that Kevin Nash was to blame for his title loss. Karen and Borash disagreed, as Kurt said that he was going to beat up Nash. Karen then told Kurt that Nash really wasn't to blame, he just couldn't beat Sting. That enraged Kurt who stormed off. Mike Tenay and Don West then ran down the show and showed more highlights of Bound For Glory. Kurt and Karen Angle then made their way out, with Angle going on a rant. Kevin Nash came out and the two argued, with Angle attacking Nash, only to get dropped with the Jacknife Powerbomb. Back from a commercial break, with Genesis getting hyped, replays were then shown of Angle getting Jacknifed. In the back, Jeremy Borash was with the Angles as Kurt said that he was too hurt to move. He and Borash came up with an idea to have Karen buy Nash lots of porn to make up for what he said, claiming it was all a joke. Karen didn't think Nash would buy it and ventured off to discuss the situation with Nash herself.

Match One - Fight For The Right Tournament Quater-Finals - Alex Shelley vs. Chris Sabin

Team 3D comes out and beats down both competitors before things could really get underway. They made fun of them, dominated them and then put them both through tables. Okay? Why were they in the tournament then?

Winner - No Contest

In the back, Christian Cage and Samoa Joe both barged into Jim Cornette's office and were fighting over the open spot in the tournament. The two almost came to blows when Matt Morgan stepped in and broke it up. Back from a commercial break, with Mike Tenay interviewing Disco Inferno, who talked about making a comeback. Scott Steiner walked in on the interview and told Disco to give it up.

Match Two - The Awesome Kong vs. Talia Madison

Kong destroyed Madison and put her away with ease.

Winner Via Pinfall - The Awesome Kong

In the back, Jeremy Borash was with Karen Angle who went to Kevin Nash and asked him to forgive Kurt, but Nash said that Kurt picked his poison and she was associated with him so he didn't want anything to do with her. Back from a commercial break, with Crystal interviewing Chris Harris and Rhino who argued a bit about not showing up to the interview together like a team. Interesting.

Match Three - Chris Harris and Rhino vs. James Storm and Robert Roode w/ Jackie Moore and Ms. Brooks

This was a good match, with Storm distracting the referee at the end and allowing Rhino to turn on Harris and give Storm's team the win.

Winners Via Pinfall - James Storm and Robert Roode

Jeremy Borash was shown backstage with Kaz who says that he has an opportunity to elevate himself and he has the right to fight. Back from a commercial break with the Parade of Champions. Mike Tenay and Jim Cornette were in the ring getting ready to congratluate the new champions, when Jay Lethal came out. Cornette asked why he was out there, but congratulated him for retaining his title. Next out was the first ever TNA Knockouts champion, Gail Kim, who came out and was excited to be holding the title. Following her were the new TNA Tag Team Champions, AJ Styles and Tomko with Christian Cage. Styles did some thank yous, but was stopped by Cage who said they should be thanking him. After some back and forth banter, Jim Cornette made the decision that the main event of Impact would be a match between Christian Cage and Samoa Joe to replace the spots voided by the Alex Shelley/Chris Sabin encounter. Finally out was Sting, who accepted the TNA Heavyweight Championship graciously. Cornette asked if Sting was ready to defend the belt on this edition of Impact against Angle, and he asked the fans who showed their approval, however, Kurt Angle came out in a wheelchair and said that due to the attack he suffered from Kevin Nash, he was unable to compete and the match had to be re-scheduled for the next edition of Impact. Sting told Angle to save the wheelchair, because after their match, he was going to need it. Back from a commercial break, with Jeremy Borash in the back with Kurt and Karen Angle. Kurt says that he is afraid of Sting and says he should turn the other cheek, but Karen reminded him of what he did to Sting's son. Kurt then said that he had to find Kevin Nash, as the Angles ventured off in search of Nash again.

Match Four - Fight for the Right Quarter-Final Match - Kaz vs. Lance Hoyt w/ Christy Hemme and Jimmy Rave

This match saw interference from Rave, who helped save Hoyt, only to get taken out by Kaz. Hemme came in to yell at Hoyt for getting tossed around, and was dropped for her troubles, while Hoyt was finished off with a kick for the win.

Winner Via Pinfall - Kaz

Crystal was shown with Crazy Legs, a major-league eater, who was then approached by Junior Fatu. They talked about eating and then Fatu went on a rant about how he was going to beat Robert Roode in the Fight for the Right tournament. Jeremy Borash was then shown again with the Angles in search of Kevin Nash. They found Black Reign and asked if he knew where Nash was, he showed his rat, licked it, as Borash and Karen ran away, leaving Kurt there by himself with Reign.

Match Five - Abyss vs. Disco Inferno

Hopefully Disco didn't bet on winning his comeback match, as he was dominated and squashed by "The Monster." After the match, Black Reign came down and attacked Abyss. Abyss fought back and James Mitchell came down, providing enough of a distraction for Reign to get up and take down Abyss with his weapon. He then handcuffed Abyss and beat on him, busting him open before placing his rat in a bag on his head. This was pretty cool.

Winner Via Pinfall - Abyss

Back from a commercial break, with Mike Tenay and Don West hyping Samoa Joe vs. Christian Cage. In the back, Jeremy Borash and The Angles finally found Kevin Nash as he was leaving. Kurt was yelling at Karen that she was pushing to slow. Kurt tried to get Nash to forgive him, but Nash drove away as Kurt promised him porn. Ha, ha.

Match Six - Fight for the Right Quater-Final Match - Christian Cage vs. Samoa Joe

This was a great main event. The end came when the ref got knocked out. Joe had the pin on Cage after a Muscle Buster, but AJ Styles came out and got STO'ed and tossed to the side. Joe then locked in the rear naked choke and had Cage tapping, when Robert Roode came out and whacked him with a chair, allowing Cage to roll over and make the cover as the ref was revived for the three count.

Winner Via Pinfall - Christian Cage

The Impact Recap then played to cap off another edition of Impact.
