Impact: A final push to Bound For Glory
By CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

Bound For Glory is right around the corner and as per the usual, TNA has done a lot of messy booking to help cram storylines together for the big event. The last edition of Impact was a complete debacle as brawl after brawl ensued causing the show to seem nonsensical. However, TNA looks to turn things around on this edition with a final pitch to their "Wrestlemania."

The show began with highlights of the last edition of Impact. What a complete mess that was. Kurt Angle was then shown arriving wearing Sting's son's football jersey. Mike Tenay and Don West then did their usual hype and pumped Bound For Glory.

Match One - Jay Lethal vs. Havoc

This one was easy to figure out. Machismo picks up the clean win. Christopher Daniels went and grabbed the X Belt and tossed it to Lethal after the match.

Winner Via Pinfall - Jay Lethal

In the back, Jeremy Borash caught up with Karen Angle who said that she was having some marriage issues. Back in the Impact Zone, Kurt Angle came out and taunted Sting. Karen Angle came out and told Kurt that she disagreed with his tactics and that she shouldn't have let him do what he did. Sting appeared on the TNA Tron and told Karen she was responsible for what would happen to Kurt. He then told Kurt to let the games begin as a Sting dummy dropped from the ceiling, fooling Kurt into applying an Ankle Lock on it. Sting then told Kurt he would get him when he was good and ready. Mike Tenay and Don West then did some more hyping, while in the back, Jeremy Borash and Kevin Nash were backstage looking for Sting. Nash approached Sting and engaged in a conversation about how if Nash were in Sting's shoes he would destroy Kurt Angle. Sting then told Nash not to lose his edge. In the back, Crystal interviewed Team Pacman, who blew off the challenge of XXX.

Match Two - Team Pacman (Pacman Jones and Ron Killings) vs. XXX (Elix Skipper and Senshi)

Team Pacman showed some good unity and in the end picked up the victory over XXX. After the match, The Steiners came down and congratulated Team Pacman. They then got on the mics and told Team 3D that they were going to defeat them at Bound For Glory.

Winners Via Pinfall - Team Pacman (Pacman Jones and Ron Killings)

In the back, Jeremy Borash was with Team 3D who said they were insulted by The Steiners and that they were going to prove why they are the better team at Bound For Glory. The Steiners came back and confronted them as TNA went to a commercial break. Back from the break and JB and Kevin Nash were with Kurt Angle. Nash said that he wasn't getting thrown in front of Sting again and he wasn't going to be at Bound For Glory. Angle didn't like that and told Nash to leave and told JB to follow him. They then announced a few of the participants in the TNA Women's Championship Gauntlet, they include, Jackie Moore, ODB, Christy Hemme, Roxxi Laveaux, Angel Williams and Talia Madison.

Match Three - Amazing Kong vs. Gail Kim

This was a pretty good match. Kong showed her dominance and finished off Kim with an Amazing Bomb.

Winner Via Pinfall - Amazing Kong

Don West showed footage of his meditation meeting with Sonjay Dutt. It was interesting. Footage was then shown of Tomko and Giant Bernard in Japan. Cool stuff. Back in the Impact Zone, Christian Cage debuted his new show "Chattin' with the Champ." Pretty cool Cabanaesque set up. AJ Styles was the bartender. Cage ran down Samoa Joe until he came out. Eventually Joe flipped and beat down Styles and Cage. Styles clocked Joe with a ukulele, but it wasn't enough to put him down. Matt Morgan came out to Joe's aide and beat on Styles, but Cage was able to get a coconut and crack Joe with it. Cage proceeded to give him a few more shots, capping off his show by standing tall over "The Samoan Submission Machine." In the back, Crystal was with LAX and the Latino Nation who said they were back in full force and ready for XXX at Bound For Glory.

Match Four - Petey Williams vs. Robert Roode w/ Ms. Brooks

This was a good match, with Roode hitting the Payoff for the win. After the match, Roode wanted Brooks to slap Williams, but she didn't want to do it. Roode then berated her until Kaz came out and made the save. Kaz wanted to show off his smacking skills, but Roode powdered and brought Brooks with him.

Winner Via Pinfall - Robert Roode

In the back, Jeremy Borash and Kurt Angle were looking for Sting, but instead found Junior Fatu going to the bathroom. Oooookay. Black Reign and Raven then made their way into the Impact Zone. Rhino came charging in, leading to...

Match Five - No DQ Match - Raven and Black Reign w/ Rat vs. Abyss and Rhino

This was a really good match that turned into an all out brawl, with thumbtacks and tables included. Raven was able to DDT Abyss into a pile of thumbtacks, but was on the receiving end of a Gore through a table. However, with Abyss being driven with a DDT into the thumbtacks and busted open, he wasn't able to see Rhino and accidentally Black Hole Slammed him, allowing Raven and Reign to get the cheap win.

Winners Via Pinfall - Raven and Black Reign

In the back, Crystal interviewed Junior Fatu, who said that there was more drama in TNA than in the WWE. He basically said that he would be taking care of business and apparently will be in the Fight for the Right Battle Royal. Matt Morgan then did a promo saying that he would have to be dealt with at Bound For Glory.

Match Six - Six Man Tag Team Match - Junior Fatu and LAX (Homicide and Hernandez) vs. Kurt Angle and Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon)

This was a solid main event with plenty of near finishes. After a lot of back and forth action, Homicide had the win, but Brother Ray distracted the ref, allowing Kurt Angle to get up and hit the Angle Slam on Homicide for the win. After the match, the Latino Nation came out to check on Homicide as Kurt Angle called out Sting. Sting appeared on the tron and said that he struck a chord with Angle and he would have to wait till Bound For Glory. However, Sting attacked Angle from behind as he was disguised as a Latino Nation member. He locked Angle in the Scorpion Deathlock as Angle tapped.

Winners Via Pinfall - Kurt Angle and Team 3D (Brother Ray and Brother Devon)

The Impact Recap played and hyped Bound For Glory.
