Impact: Angle restrained, Rikishi loses debut
By CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling
Christian Cage has been on quite the roll in TNA, however, Jim Cornette looks to put Cage in his place on this edition of Impact, as the commissioner has enlisted the services of Junior Fatu (aka Rikishi) to beat some respect into "Captain Charisma." Will Fatu be successful, or will "The Instant Classic" continue to shine? Read the report and find out. Highlights were shown from the last edition of Impact, while the Angles were in the back receiving some treatment from Dr. Kevin Nash. Kurt apologized to Nash and was forgiven. Nash told the Angles that in order to get back on track, they needed to apologize to Sting. Karen was heavily against that and called Nash out, but Kurt forced her into it. During this squabble, Karen Angle was given a letter that she put in her pocket without reading; this letter would come into play during her apology to Sting. Nash told Kurt that he had better pray it worked, so Kurt asked Nash if he would join him in a prayer. Mike Tenay and Don West then did their typical welcome and pitched it to the first contest. Match One - Judas Mesias vs. Eric Young Mesias is excellent in TNA, he is a really good fit and perfect for a feud with Abyss. He dominated here and busted open Young before laying him out with a Downward Spiral for the win. After the match, he continued to beat down Young. Shark Boy came to help him out, but was also beaten down for his troubles as the referees stood back. Rhino finally came down with a steel chair and backed the new monster off. Winner Via Pinfall - Judas Mesias In the back, Crystal was with the Christian Coalition. AJ Styles threw Christian Cage a party, Hawaiian style, as Tomko looked on in amazement. When Cage came in, Tomko flipped on Styles and told him they had to get ready for his match. Cage then turned his attention to Junior Fatu and said that he was going to make an example out of him. Back from commercial break, with Team 3D saying that they were going to take out the entire tag team division in TNA. A package was then shown highlighting their feud with the Steiners. Match Two - Ron Killings w/ Pacman Jones vs. AJ Styles w/ Tomko This was a good match. Back and forth action until Tomko accidentally distracted the referee, allowing Pacman to spraypaint Styles in the face, leaving him disoriented and prone to the Axe Kick by Killings for the win. Pacman has been doing pretty good in TNA thus far, hopefully he'll keep up the good work. Winner Via Pinfall - Ron Killings
Match Three - Christian Cage vs. Junior Fatu Good main event with a lot of action. Fatu looked strong here. The end came when AJ Styles came out and distracted the referee. He then pulled Cage out of a slam position, which allowed Cage to roll up Fatu, hook the tights and get the win. After the match, Fatu beat down Styles and Cage and gave them each a little stink face action. Tomko then came down and beat on Fatu, as Samoa Joe made his way out and joined Fatu to clean house on them. Good stuff. Winner Via Pinfall - Christian Cage Outside the Impact Zone, Judas Mesias was shown beating down Sting and choking him out, as the Impact Recap played to recap the episode.
