Impact: Mesias carves up Abyss
By CHRIS SOKOL - SLAM! Wrestling

Kurt Angle no longer holds all the gold in TNA, but he does hold the major title. Angle, who lost his Tag Team and X Division belts at No Surrender was able to retain the Heavyweight title, which he will bring to the Impact Zone as he goes up against Abyss in a Non-Title, Six Sides of Steel I Quit Match. Will Angle be able to overcome "The Monster" once again? Read the report and find out.

The show began with a recap of No Surrender. The Christian Coalition was shown arriving as Jeremy Borash approached them. Christian Cage said that he was at the Impact Zone to take care of Matt Morgan. Jim Cornette already told Cage that he would be taking on Samoa Joe at Bound For Glory, but Cage said that he wanted Cornette to grab someone from Joe's family, he didn't care which Samoan it was, but he was going to make an example out of them.

Mike Tenay and Don West then did their typical greeting and hyped the Kurt Angle/Abyss Six Sides of Steel I Quit match, where if Abyss loses, he leaves TNA. Karen Angle then came out and introduced Kurt Angle, but Sting came out of the lift instead. He told Karen that he didn't blame Kurt for what happened, but he wanted her to tell the truth. She said that Sting hit her so hard she couldn't remember. Kurt then came out and attacked Sting with a steel chair. They handcuffed Sting and beat on him. Karen slapped him as Kurt said that he was going to break his neck and ankle at Bound For Glory. Sting spit at Kurt and Karen and receieved even more of a beat down. Back from a commercial break, with Tenay and West hyping the Angle/Abyss match some more. Jeremy Borash interviewed Abyss who said that he was going to click Doomsday on Angle.

Match One - Black Reign w/ Rat vs. Shark Boy

Squash! Squash! Squash! After the match, Reign spiked Sharky and then ripped his mask and placed his rat in it. Eric Young made the save and covered up Sharky. They make an interesting team.

Winner Via Pinfall - Black Reign

Crystal was in the back with Team Pacman who said that AJ Styles and Tomko were in big trouble when they go to Atlanta.

Match Two - Jay Lethal w/ Sonjay Dutt vs. Christopher Daniels w/ Elix Skipper and Senshi

This was a good match. Great back and forth action that ended with Senshi distracting Lethal, Daniels blocking the Lethal Combo and connecting with the Last Rites for the win.

Winner Via Pinfall - Christopher Daniels

Jeremy Borash hyped the TNA texting service and was with Jim Cornette who ran down the card for Bound for Glory. There will be a 15 man Reverse Battle Royal for a title shot, an Ultimate X match between Triple X and LAX, Samoa Joe vs. Christian Cage, a TNA Heavyweight Championship match between Kurt Angle and Sting, and a Knockouts Gauntlet Match. Cornette then told Matt Morgan that he had better behave and not hurt any TNA stars.

Christian Cage then made his way into the Impact Zone and called out Matt Morgan. Cage ran down Morgan, as AJ Styles and Tomko went to attack, Samoa Joe came out and speared Cage. Morgan then disposed of Styles as Joe got rid of Tomko. Morgan then announced that he would be the Special Enforcer in the Joe/Cage rematch at Bound For Glory. Jim Cornette then came out and said that was his decision and that since Cage made the Samoan Challenge, his opponent for the next edition of Impact is going to be Junior Fatu aka Rikishi.

A package was then shown for the Main Event rematch between Kurt Angle and Abyss. What a great match they had at No Surrender.

Match Three - Non-Title - Six Sides of Steel - I Quit Match - If Abyss Loses He Leaves TNA - Kurt Angle vs. Abyss

Back and forth action with the referee getting layed out. Abyss was able to lock in an Ankle Lock on Angle, but Judas Mesias came out from underneath the ring spitting blood and carrying a barbed wire noose. He choked out Abyss as Angle left for the back. The match was ruled a no contest, as Mesias continued his beatdown on Abyss. He then took out some glass and cut the arms of Abyss. He continued his beatdown and stood tall as Impact came to an end.

Winner - No Contest
