TNA Impact: Oh, Tag!
By CHRIS SOKOL -- SLAM! Wrestling

Kurt Angle may have been able to spare his wife on the last edition of Impact, but on this edition, it is up to Jim Cornette as to which TNA stars will have the opportunity to carry the tag gold alongside the Olympic Gold Medalist. Will Angle's partner be a help or a hindrance to the champ? Read the report and find out.

Highlights were shown from the last edition of Impact. In the back, Team Pacman said that what they did to Eric Young was pure charity. According to them, they charge for spray-paintings such as they did to Young.

Mike Tenay and Don West did their usual welcome and hype job, while The Angles were in their locker room with Kevin Nash, going over all of the eligible candidates that will be competing for a shot to team with Kurt at No Surrender. Karen Angle says she is going to have a chat with Samoa Joe, Kurt warns her not to, but she has made up her mind on the situation.

Team 3D make their way into the Impact Zone to take on the Motor City Machine Guns, when Scott Steiner runs out and tells them to take a hike. 3D get on Steiner, but he fights back. After a brief scuffle, Team 3D had Steiner right where they wanted him and attempted to crush his trachea and put him out of action with the same Superbomb that put Rick Steiner on the shelf. 3D succeeded as referees, security and EMTs came out to help him away. The Motor City Machine Guns came back out and told TNA that they needed some competition so they could boost the ratings. VKM came out leading to...

Match One - VKM (BG and Kip James) w/ Roxxi Laveaux vs. The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin)

VKM tore up The Machine Guns and pretty much took them out of title contention altogether with a squashesque encounter.

Winners Via Pinfall - VKM (BG and Kip James)

After the bout, Kip grabbed a mic and challenged a "worthy" team to come down and face them. This brought LAX, Triple X, Shark Boy and Eric Young and led to a huge brawl. Let's get this straight = the Guns job out big, while Sharky and EY are considered a "worthy" team. What?

In the back, Jeremy Borash was with Karen Angle who wanted to go chat with Samoa Joe. Borash warned her not to, but she went into Joe's locker room anyway. Joe told her to make it quick or get out. Karen told him that he should join forces with Kurt and rule TNA. Joe leads her on and tells her that he wants to team with Kurt, and that he also wants to be there to break him apart and leave him laid out.

Back from a commercial break, JB was with the Christian Coalition when Karen Angle came in and tried to sweet talk Christian Cage and AJ Styles. She promised that the winner would get a title shot, as long as they helped Kurt defends his tag belts successfully. Karen won them over and gave AJ a kiss on the way out. AJ told JB that she wanted him and not to tell Kurt.

Tenay and West then ran down the card for No Surrender, announcing that Kazarian would be taking on Robert Roode.

Elsewhere, James Storm continued searching and getting kicked out of bars as he pursued Rhino.

Samoa Joe made his way into the Impact Zone with his fire dancers, while in the back, Karen Angle tried to make a deal with Sting. Sting said that if she was worried about her kids, she might want to change her dress. Kurt and Karen Angle then made their way into the Impact Zone for the main event to determine Kurt's partner at No Surrender.

Match Two - Winner Becomes One Half of the TNA Tag Team Champions - AJ Styles vs. Christian Cage vs. Samoa Joe vs. Sting

Solid main event here with tons of back and forth action. The Angles watched as Styles, Cage, Sting and Joe brawled both in and out of the ring. The end came when Tomko hit Sting with a Big Boot, allowing Styles to only get a two count. Styles went for a springboard, but was caught by Sting and put in the Scoprion Deathlock, causing "The Phenomenal One" to tap out.

Winner Via Pinfall and NEW TNA Tag Team Champion w/ Kurt Angle - Sting

After the match, The Angles presented Sting with one of the TNA Tag Titles, shook hands and raised Sting's hand in victory. They left, as Team Pacman hit the ring and put the boots to Sting. Pacman did a spraypaint job on Sting, as Kurt Angle made his way back and cleaned house.

The Impact Recap then played as Impact came to an end.
